In the bustling metropolitan of Toronto, a brand has been diligently working to bring a new horizon to the legal ingestible world. If you reside in Canada you ’ll know products are capped at 10mg of THC. But, what if there is a clever way to abide by the regulations, while bringing the consumers what they want?! Aspire has made this happen! Their line up of groovy products bring consumers what they want, while filling a much needed gap in the industry.
How did Aspire Infusions come to be?! Tell us the history!
It all started one average day, deep into the covid-19 lockdowns, when Sy and Shane decided to try their hand at making edibles When they felt their creations were ready to share with friends and family, the feedback was incredible - these homemade edibles tasted great, and worked even better! In this moment, Sy & Shane realized that they had a major opportunity on their hands. Step 1: investigate the current cannabis industry. 4 years ago (nearly a century in cannabis time) at the start of legalization 2.0, there was little variety, and even less innovation. With Sy ’ s knack for science, and Shane’ s innate drive for creating efficiencies, they were determined to create a product for real people who deserved better, who deserved choice. With the end user at the heart of every action, and the marriage of passion, innovation and creativity, Aspire was born.
Give us the scoop on those products!
At ASPIRE Infusions, our products live in 2 distinct categories:
The first is SPARK - a product designed to Elevate Life’ s Experiences (read: High THC options designed for recreational use). Harnessing our very own RapidSense Technology, our Moonrocks are an innovative tablet design that provides a fast, predictable onset time, a discreet and customizable dose, plus highly bioavailable cannabinoids so you can make the most of every moment Our THC Moonshot offers all of the benefits of the Moonrocks, in a liquid format with an integrated dosing mechanism that pours the perfect shot every time. A favourite amongst the cali-sober, offering an inclusive way to blend in with the crowd when you hear someone shout ‘SHOTS!’
Next up, HALO - our wellness lineup, designed to work fast when you need relief even faster Leveraging RapidSense Technology, with a focus on CBD and minor cannabinoids (plus the occasional micro-dose of THC), HALO is changing the way we think about CBD Gone are the days of rigid dosing schedules, maxing out your budget and wondering if it really works! Our CBD Orbs are little candies, as subtle as a dinner mint, and contain just the right amount of CBD for your in-the-moment needs. When you ’re looking for real relief, our CBD100 tablets are a game-changer. Toss the advil out the window, and give the plant a try. You ’ll be surprised how well these little heroes perform when you need them most
We love the moon theme amongst your products! What is the story behind that?
It’ll be a surprise to no one that many of the founding Aspire crew members are Sci-Fi fans, so the vibe just organically developed through the creative process When we dove into creation of the brand, we wanted the SPARK product line to embody the Explorer archetype. We love to innovate, explore new possibilities and push boundaries. We also wanted the brand experience to feel like a psychedelic trip through outer space; where you, the ‘Sparknaut’ are at the centre of that trip
Plus, the abundance of space puns are the perfect cherry on top!
What can we see in the future from Aspire! Any new products you ’ re working on?
We can ’t share all of our secrets just yet, but keep your eye out for products that bring us closer to the plant. More live rosin, some plant derived minor cannabinoids and maybe a venture into another booming category [ vapes ]
How did you develop the rapid infusion! What
inspired you to take nanoemulsification to the next level?
Great question! Some call it nano, but our RapidSense Technology really is a level-up In order to create functional, consumer centric products, we first needed to fundamentally understand consumer behaviour, with a focus on pain points.
The first red flag was how incredibly inefficient traditional ingesitbles are From oils to edibles, capsules to candies, bioavailability was a central challenge we worked to solve Most folks have no idea that as little as 5-20% of the cannabinoids they ingest actually reach the bloodstream! So out of that 10mg gummy, you ’re likely only feeling the effects of just 2mg. This is another reason SO many people think CBD doesn’t work for them
Next up, TIME In a world of convenience, when our schedules are busier than ever, who has the time to wait up to 2 hours for their edible to kick in? Or worse yet, take a second dose only to feel the first one hit you… hard. While inhalable products (vapes, bongs, pre-rolls etc) work quickly, we can ’t deny that the effects on our lungs are lasting
Finally, a topic that doesn’t get nearly enough attentioncontrolled, consistent dosing As we know, every strain, batch and plant (plus many, many other variables) impact how that dose is going to affect you.
At Aspire, through RapidSense Technology, we’ve created a product that solves for each of these issues, providing an experience that fits the bill for customers seeking an effective product, that’ s consistent, and gets the most out of every milligram.
If you could change one thing about the legal industry, What would it be?
Phew, this is one of life’ s greatest mysteries, isn’t it? Kidding –but I’ m sure we’re not alone in thinking that there are endless opportunities for positive change in the current regulatory and socio political landscape. If we had to zero in on just one, we’d love to see the legalization of cannabis consumption lounges, and integration of cannabis infused options at bars and restaurants There’ s a growing demand for non-alcoholic cocktail offerings, and an incredibly well-timed increase in cannabis consumption here in Canada It’ s more important than ever
Bud Lafleur: Quality Cannabis from Quebec
Bud Lafleur is making a name for itself in the cannabis world with a focus on quality and craftsmanship Based in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, this team of passionate cultivators is dedicated to producing top notch cannabis products that enhance everyday moments. Since launching their first product in May 2022, Bud Lafleur has quickly become a brand to know.
Careful Cultivation Practices
At Bud Lafleur, every step in the cultivation process is handled with care. The cannabis is grown indoors, allowing for complete control over factors like light, temperature, and humidity This careful approach helps ensure that each product is of the highest quality
The process starts with hand-harvesting the plants, followed by whole plant hang drying. This method helps preserve the buds natural qualities. After trimming by hand, the cannabis is cured cold and slow for at least 14 days. This process enhances flavour and aroma, providing a better experience for consumers. Finally, each package is handpackaged, reflecting Bud Lafleur’ s commitment to quality
Meet Banana Daddy
One of Bud Lafleur’ s standout strains is Banana Daddy, an indica strain known for its high THC potency. This strain comes from crossing Granddaddy Purp and Banana Hammock R1. It features
chunky, dense buds with a deep purple hue, covered in frost- like trichomes. Banana Daddy offers fruity aromas with a hint of diesel, creating a unique scent profile.
The dominant terpenes myrcene, ocimene, and alpha-pinene add to its appeal, making it a great choice for those looking to unwind and relax.
Say Cheese with Citroli
Another great option from Bud Lafleur is Citroli, a sativa-dominant strain celebrated for its strong THC potency Made from the impressive lineage of Citral Skunk and Original Glue, Citroli features cheesy, woody aromas and a smooth pine taste.
The vibrant buds showcase red hairs and frosty trichomes, making them visually striking. With dominant terpenes like myrcene, limonene, and caryophyllene, Citroli delivers a flavourful experience, perfect for those seeking both potency and an enjoyable sensory journey
The Team Behind the Brand
The quality at Bud Lafleur is driven by master growers Their passion for cannabis cultivation ensures that every product reflects their dedication to the craft, helping the brand stand out in the market

The inspiration for my brand began on Christmas 2021 when I asked my mom for a cannabis-themed sweater. Unfortunately, I didn’t get one, and she mentioned she couldn’t find a place to purchase it. Driven by the desire for a unique sweater, I started looking for options myself. However, I was disappointed to discover mostly generic and over-the-top designs that lacked originality. That sparked an idea: why not create my own line of cannabis-themed clothing featuring subtle and original designs?
THE JOURNEY BEHIND ORGANIC CANNABIS CLOTHING
The name "Organic Cannabis Clothing" was inspired from my grow account, "Organic Cannabis Connoisseur. " I’ve always loved the acronym OCC, and that name felt like the perfect fit for my clothing line. Fast forward to 2023, and I’ m excited to share that I have five original designs, which are available on high-quality, organic t-shirts, track pants, hoodies, and more Among these is our trademarked design, "The Joint is Canoeing" While we don’t yet offer hemp clothing, I’ m thrilled to announce that we are in the process of developing a hemp line, with our first products expected to launch in early 2025!
Our clothing is available in cannabis stores, showcasing the unique essence of Organic Cannabis Clothing. Furthermore, we ' ve successfully collaborated with cannabis shops, the Taylor Swift Dance Party, and several small enterprises and individuals to craft distinctive designs tailored to their specific needs
At OCC, we strive to be more than just a clothing brand; we aim to make a positive environmental impact as well
When you shop with Organic Cannabis Clothing, you can feel good knowing that a portion of our profits goes toward reforestation initiatives in partnership with One Tree Planted Every year, we commit to planting at least 420 trees!
HEALING A HIP REPLACEMENT WITH CANNABIS
Somepeoplesaiditcouldn'tbedone andIwascrazyforeventrying
Written by: Strictly Hippy
From the beginning I was very upfront with my doctors I did not want heavy narcotics I wanted to heal from this hip replacement with cannabis only I spoke extensively with the nurses, anaesthesiologist and everyone involved in the process and they were all very respectful of my wishes I did advise them that if I was screaming in agony than yes I would accept their medication Thankfully that never happened
When I woke up from the operation I was clear minded, no dizziness, no light-headedness. I was able to get up to go to the bathroom with a walker within an hour of waking up In recovery the nurse asked if I had my edibles, I said of course She turned to walk away
my high dose capsules while in the recovery room She came back an hour later and asked me how I w
nd ready to get home. By 3pm I was out the door and headed home for a 3 hour car ride as a passenger in the front seat. I had another capsule in the car and a CBN Bare joint when I got home I used Royal Oil Rub on my muscles and at bedtime I had a nice CBG gummy M
importantly, I was fine! I only woke up once that first night to have a capsule and a Tylenol The medications I did take were Tylenol, Aspirin for blood clots, antibiotics and anti-inflammatories as prescribed I was also prescribed Hydromorphone but it stayed in my drawer And I never took a single one!
Day 2 I woke up pain free, I laid there for a bit enjoying the comfort The day was a mix of the required medication and a few joints thrown in as well as my high dose capsules I was able to get around by myself What I did need help with was getting my leg in and out of bed My daughter assisted a lot with meals and lifting my leg for me
Having canna in capsules really helped It' s hard to sit and roll a joint in the moment, pre-rolls helped too I do wish I had rolled up some more before my operation
If you are wondering what high dose capsules I used.. they were a mix of some I made with my Magical Butter Machine and ones I have gotten thru legacy connections I do believe the legal market has a long way to come regarding their medicinal dosages for healing
Day 4 was my worst day my daughter said it was OK if I took stronger pills, but I refused My biggest spike in pain was getting in and out of bed and one time I gasped 3 times real quick I later found out that my incision had opened just a tiny bit in 3 spots I felt justified in my little gasps
By day 13 I could really feel I was turning a corner 2 weeks out and I was off the walker and onto a crutch
midgetbudz pictured & hydromorophone not taken
By week 3 I was using a cane only
Slowly I was able to reduce the Tylenol and continued consuming my cannabis every day My true life saver was a full spectrum pain oil from Royal Oil Rub. The roll on application made it so easy to use and reach hard to access areas I did keep it away from my incision as it is just for muscle pain It is not available in dispensaries
At 2 weeks, my staples were removed and I was allowed to use vitamin e on the incision.
By week 3 I had switched over to my own homemade canna healing ointment when my incision was fully closed and healing nicely The hard scar tissue that was surrounding the area really loosened up since I'd been using my own homemade cream.
By week 4 I had seen no swelling at all I do attribute a lot of my recovery to cannabis I had no ill side effects No nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite, at no time did I feel ill in any form I' ve healed nicely and every day have felt just a little bit better I no longer have that deep aching bone on bone rubbing, sure there' s a bit of pain in other areas while I heal
All in all I am so glad I chose to heal with cannabis instead of the Hydromorophone the doctor prescribed. I am not here to give advise, I am not a doctor, this is my own personal experience and in no way advise on how you should heal I just know I'll be returning those pills as soon as I am well enough to walk them back to the pharmacy myself, unassisted and in a straight line with no wobbling back and forth.

A Look Back at 2024 Cannabis Events
Written by Rose Finlay
With busy season for industry events coming to a close, there are some significant things to highlight. First and most importantly, inclusive change is happening within the cannabis industry and it' s time for us to work together to further this movement. Diversity and inclusion can sometimes be overlooked as a pivotal factor in sustainability for any industry, which is why we ' re so passionate about creating the changes necessary to survive as a professional sector It gives us hope to know that many of our industry leaders have acknowledged that this is a crucial talking point and one that needs more exposure in the coming years.
With that said, unfortunately one of the biggest challenges with hosting events, is finding spaces that are already accessible, or that can be easily made accessible with reasonable investment
At this stage in the game, we are past the point of needing to make a case for why physical access is so vital. We are now at the stage where we need to come together as a community and actually prioritize addressing these issues and come up with creative solutions.
Lamentably, on a corporate level, we are still putting profits over people more than what' s ethically acceptable. I' m hopeful that by exploring the right channels, even corporate cannabis can begin to see the value in an industry that' s welcoming for all.
"It' s not in the budget" just simply cannot be tolerated as an excuse in 2025!
Now with all of that said, there are some very important honourable mentions from this year ' s events!
The Lunar Mixer - an event co-hosted by High Moon Magazine and The Dope Creative Club, will always be accessible and inclusive of everyone. With both our inaugural voyage in March and second blastoff in September, we were thrilled to welcome guests from all across the country and from all walks of life.
The folks behind BudBash have consistently done a great job at making sure their space is barrierfree while still maintaining the party vibe! We love to see it! It' s always a great time in the heart of Toronto sponsored by some of the brands we know and love from Aspire Infusions, Pistol and Paris, and even our friends from Partake! Recently, BudBash threw their second annual Halloween soirée BooBash following up on the day ' s excitement from Karma Cup It was great to see some new event sponsors like Ono and Wyld in this space as well.
As many of our readers know and experienced firsthand, day 1 of KIND Summer Fair was anything but Kind to anyone in the city. We received record flooding in Toronto that day, which forced the organizers to cancel the event. In an attempt to make it up to day one ticket holders, day two was broken up into two groups It made for a very long day but it was a very unique experience. Woefully, KIND Summer Fair still needs much improvement to make their event safe and accessible. We are looking forward to seeing how the new venue space for Winter Fair accommodates those of us with disabilities! All hope is not lost
A huge shoutout to Jeff Tseng and his team at
Ono Cannabis for coming in clutch to make the most of Toronto Floodgate 2024. After the cancellation of KIND, this team expediently put together a fantastic evening of entertainment with the ability to consume and stay dry!
What a surprise for them when someone in a wheelchair arrived at the venue which had a few steps! Kudos and thanks once again for rolling with the punches and being so accommodating.
StatCann Media & Events hosted Growing Relationships in Ottawa this summer and High
Moon Magazine was privileged to be in attendance David Brown and his team went above and beyond to make sure that this event
was not only accessible physically but even accommodated dietary restrictions. This level of gracious hospitality should be exemplary for anyone hosting an event at the corporate level. It
was both a pleasure and an honour to be able to participate in conversations and offer my expertise for how we can make impactful changes to help consumers with disabilities gain access to the plant. I feel very strongly that events like this will make the biggest waves in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Cannabis Industry. You can subscribe to their newsletter through their website at www.StratCann.com or give them a follow over on LinkedIn, to stay updated on dates and locations for next year ' s coast to coast events. They also share a variety of invaluable industry news and information
Our friends at Marigold Marketing were incredibly kind in extending the invite for their Tether event which was hosted following Growing Relationships Marigold has been and continues to be a very people centric organization and we are genuinely grateful to have them as strong advocates for inclusion and diversity. With their upcoming dates for Radicle Femmes, there' s never been a better time to connect with this community all across the country with events happening in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. You can find all the details for Radicle Femmes here. With great sponsors and a dedicated team that goes above and beyond, we look forward to big things in 2025 from Marigold
In closing, High Moon Magazine remains devoted to building community spaces that support everyone. It has been a year with many ebbs and flows but with a lot of passion for the plant This is what binds us As we move into the darker months with fewer events to connect, tap into online resources like social media or zoom rooms! Highly recommend, scheduling zoom seshes with your pals! Stay cosy and stay lifted, friends!
HIGH FASHION
We had the pleasure of hosting the talented Abi Roach and her brand Jane Dope at the Lunar Mixer 2.0 this September in Toronto! Abi brought us an assortment of the stunning pieces she designed, all of which are available online at www.janedope.ca

We had the privilege of hosting 514 Cannabis at the Lunar Mixer
2.0, and let me tell you, it was a real "high" time! This event was a
groovy gathering of cannabis enthusiasts and professionals, all buzzing with excitement to explore the latest innovations and trends in the cannabis industry The energy in the room was
contagious like someone had set off a confetti cannon filled with good vibes.
Chino, the rep for Great White North Growers was a delight to host an event with. He had some of the most kind vibes and spectacular knowledge and passion when it came to talking to our attendees about 514 Cannabis.
Lake Of The Woods Connect
Lake Of The Woods connect, or also known as LOTW connect was created by Vyctoria Barling; who is not only a former owner of a licensed cannabis production site, but is a mom of 4 littles, wife to Cody (@Codesgrows420) and a registered early childhood educator pursuing her education to become a resource teacher.
After things didn’t go as planned with her partners at said former company, she decided to step up and be the first person in her city to create and host legal cannabis-friendly events located in Kenora, Ontario The stigma around cannabis was still quite high - so, Vyctoria decided that not only was she going to host and help educate guests by including her husband who’ s a phenomenal grower and medical educator but she was also going to support small businesses and other licensed producers(LP’ s)
"You can succeed and consume weed!"
VYCTORIA BARLING
https://www.instagram.com/lotwconnect/
Within months of opening LOTW connect received their first award for event planning & 3 interview articles LOTW connect was created to build connections between those who support the plant, whether they consume it or not
At each event, guests receive gifts bought from Canadian small businesses and learn about the companies that also graciously agree to sponsor with cannabis related gifts Sponsors then receive social media marketing on all of LOTW connect platforms at no cost, plus Vyctoria would personally purchase an item to help market the company.
After a fantastic first year, LOTW connect created & hosted 6 events from September 23, 2023 - August 10, 2024. All in which supported small businesses, built community & connections to end the cannabis stigma
LOTW connect recently decided to only host 1-2 big events a year in Kenora - this is only due to the fact that Vyctoria - as mentioned above, is pursuing her resource teacher’ s certificate
Please continue to support-follow her on social media @LOTWconnect as she will be hosting giveaways throughout the break Vyctoria would like to thank all of her supporters and sponsors that have made her first year of events possible
HAPPY HALLOWEED LET'S JAM!

Cannabis is in my opinion the perfect boost for Halloween thrill-seekers, whether you're going to a haunted house or having a chill night in with some spooky tunes or movies, the benefits that cannabis brings can certainly heighten the experiences
Historically spooky month has been associated with drinking and parties, history is changing and cannabis is not only a viable alternative but possibly the choice for a consumer wanting to immerse themselves in the spooky vibes. I have compiled a list of a few product recommendations paired with some tunes that I find frightful.
First product is Rosin Head' s Milk Chocolate
Caramel Peanut Butter Cup infused with Orange Tingz Hash Rosin This single 10mg piece is perfect for an experienced user who cares about quality concentrates in an edible If you have not used this for a s ' mores by the campfire you are missing out I would pair this product with a classic Halloween tune, Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett from the opening lines of "I was working in the lab late one night, when my eyes beheld an eerie sight" makes me think of the team in Pembroke working in the lab creating this ultimate edible fusion "the scene was rockin all were digging the sounds" truer words were never sung
Secondly Frozen Orchard 510 Vape by FIGR gives a rich sweet apple flavour mixed with a frosty chill of mint making it a unique combination This very strong Sativa dominant gives all the party time vibes and I will die on the hill that apple is a superior flavour for fall. A product best suited for a vape user who enjoys rich flavours and can appreciate quality manufacturing with a Hemp mouthpiece and barrel air hole to guarantee quality through the entire cart
The tune paired with this product is Season of the Witch by Donovan (Lana Del Rey cover is acceptable as well) this song is about observing changes, and as stated before October is still apple season! Of course the changes Donovan was writing about had nothing to do with apples but pick up every stitch is just reminding us to pay attention and as a consumer I' m paying attention to quality manufacturing and paying attention to competitive prices both of which FIGR offers in this space
Thirdly, and lastly, we have what I would consider one of my favourite social smokes out there and that is the Emergenz by Broken Coast, a cross between Orange Push Pop x Sunset Sherbert some excellent quality craft 7g of flower boasting high potency and great taste. This euphoric uplifting vibe is perfect for myself to get into any spooky vibe Detailed review on this strain is on my socials right now! The tune I would pair with this product is Dragula by Rob Zombie, whether it' s correlation with the Hot Rod Herman Munsters episode or the correlation with the intro lyrics "Superstition, Fear and Jealousy" being a sample from a 1960 Horror Film Horror Hotel* I love the blending of heavy music and horror films "Dead I am the sky, watching angels cry While they slowly turn, conquering the worm. " nothing makes me want to Conquer the worm more than some good flower that hits like the Emergenz
Honourable mention for this goes to the Scooby Doo theme song for getting me hype - the what' s new Simple Plan version - and you can tell me why I' m wrong in the comments of my Music Monday Post on the 28th of October!
Many full moons have passed where Halloween and marijuana have gone hand in hand, bringing my love of spooky tunes to celebrate my favourite holiday with all of us here has been special Halloween is an opportunity to be creative and that is a connection true to stoners. Follow me on my journey of exploring cannabis and other things that pair well with it such as music, or holidays, demonstrated with these connections made here On all socials I am Gr8N8Pottsy I appreciate each and everyone who stops by and checks out my little corner of the internet.

We adore Halloween, but celebrating with a HIGH Halloween takes the fun to another level! Here are our favourite products that help elevate our Halloween experience!
Bar Hop by Sweet Justice
This Bar Hop beverage is the best new beverage on the market in our opinion! The carbonated water is infused with natural hops extract and strawberry flavouring This low sugar option is a great alternative
Glenn’s Choice Edibles
When we want candy with a THC twist, we reach for Glenn’ s! Our current favourite are Glenn’ s Choice, made with Wildcard Extracts- Platinum Grapes cured resin. These gummys are the perfect consistency and flavour.
Rosin Heads PB & Jelly Flower
This 14-gram package features two fantastic cultivars! We hit the jackpot with PB Breath and Mixed Berry
This is a rotating SKU which gives various craft growers a chance to showcase their flower. This branding is our favourite to date and the flower is fabulous! It’ s worth the Halloween treat!
