Newsletter Parents/Carers School Closure Arrangements – 20 March 2020 IMPORTANT: From 3.30pm school is strictly closed to all students unless they have special permission to be here as part of emergency childcare arrangements. ALL OTHER CHILDREN SHOULD BE SOCIALLY DISTANCING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE to reduce the risk of transmission of this virus. If children come on site without permission we have been advised to call our school liaison police officers who will attend to escort them home. We will be locking most external doors and may share CCTV coverage with police where appropriate. Home working: While the school is closed until further notice to most children it is really important that learning continues! Term hasn’t stopped and we will be learning in new ways. Our approach over the coming weeks is to develop in school provision for children of keyworkers and other identified students, alongside an online curriculum for others. As you know students have been supplied with enough work through ‘Always be Doing Tasks’ to last until after the Easter holidays. Work can also be found on Show My Homework. This will be the central platform for our online curriculum over the coming weeks. A lot is being required of our students to make sure that their education is not disrupted by current events. They are being required to be more independent in their learning and we really welcome your support and engagement with this process. Our staff are certainly rising to the challenge of working in new ways and we are sure that in this regard, as in so many others, we will emerge stronger from the current crisis. We are working to improve further the extent to which our online curriculum complements the in school work which is being missed. Please bear with us as we adapt our working practices.
