t seems like Handré Pollard’s name was destined to be written into Springbok folklore ever since he

graced rugby fields in the colours of rugby factory Paarl Gimnasium when he was just a scrawny, high school player. Now, almost a decade later, South Africa’s premier flyhalf is on the verge of fulfilling his early promise.

Pollard’s career trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable.

He made his Test debut in 2014 as a fresh-faced 20-year-old, attempting to live up to the massive hype after starring in three consecutive Fast forward to the present and while there have been a few bumps in the road, it’s fair to say he has lived up to those lofty expectations.
