Campus Updates Catering Students’ Pop Up Day

Travel & Tourism – Waxing for Charity

On 26th February Chimes restaurant our Catering students organized ‘Pop Up Day’ that aims at showing their amazing skills and ideas for their future businesses.

On 25th February our Travel and Tourism student Olie Brooks volunteered to have his chest, back and legs waxed in return for donations for one of the charities. It was great to see his friends and tutor Angie Parkes supporting him through this. One of Olie’s classmates Leeson seeing how painful it was for his friend bravely stepped in and volunteered to have his legs waxed instead. Well done to both of them!

Our guests were offered a three course menu and afterwards could buy products such as brownies, chutneys, cupcakes etc. Our students Kate, Larna, Lauren and Emily made sure products were advertised around the College and everyone could try it! We hope to see more of it next year – especially Pickled Cucumber! Using this opportunity we would like to thank Rob Strachan and our new Atrium Chef Paula for their amazing help and contribution towards Diversity week and beyond. We had international menus throughout the week starting with Hungarian goulash, tucking into Italian pizza on Wednesday and finishing off with a British roast on the Friday. (5th

In the Atrium floor) Paula has recently introduced a healthy salad bar that will promote and help our students and staff to boost their vitamin intake and also to get ready for the summer season. Come and join us!

The event would not have been the same without our Beauty students Tonitchua and Alex who together with their tutor Sam Miller professionally waxed our students and supported this great charity event.
