aCadaCanto is a collaboration of three popular musicians on the Galician music scene. Xabier Díaz and Guilerme Fernandes have highly acclaimed singing careers in other Galician bands, while Xosé Romero is part of a popular Spanish musicalcomedy trio. Their music is a mix of traditional and more experimental Galician music, underpinning stunning vocals with guitar and accordion. Queen of Afro-folk and ‘Zimbabwe’s best kept secret’ The Daily News, Netsayi is thrilled to premier her brand new material on HIFA’s Telecel Main Stage. 2013 was a breakthrough year for Netsayi, which saw her rock New York alongside some of the world’s best musicians, play live on NPR, be photographed by Helena Christensen and wolfwhistled by Bono. Now after three years selling out HIFA’s Lay's Global Stage, she’ll be presenting a new sound alongside an mbira ensemble (with Jacob and Philip from Vibe Culture) and cellist Jeff Ziegler (from the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet). This is your last chance to catch Netsayi before the group's first American tour, which will take in the Celebrate Brooklyn festival and a residency at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.
