2 Warranty period All warranty periods take effect from the day of delivery to the first owner/user.
2.2
The engine should be put into service no later than 6 (six) months after delivery ex VETUS Schiedam.
The international warranty coverage for generator sets is:
2.1
Propulsion engines
The VETUS marine diesel engines for non-commercial use in pleasure crafts are guaranteed by VETUS B.V. against all material and/or construction faults, pursuant to the provisions of the law, during a period of 36 (thirty-six) months, or of a maximum of 1500 (one thousand five hundred) operating hours, depending on whichever comes first. In addition to this warranty period as prescribed by law, VETUS guarantees during the subsequent 24 (twenty-four) months, or an additional 1000 (one thousand) operating hours maximum, depending on whichever comes first, the following engine parts: cylinder block casting, cylinder head casting, the crankshaft, the camshaft, the casting of the flywheel housing, the timing gear casting, the timing gears and the connecting rods. In the event of light commercial use of VETUS marine diesel engines, the abovementioned terms and conditions of the warranty do not apply, unless VETUS B.V. have given their approval in writing in certain special circumstances. Otherwise, i.e. in normal circumstances, the contractual warranty period of 12 (twelve) months, or a maximum of 1000 (one thousand) operating hours, depending on whichever comes first, applies to light commercial use.
Generator sets
24 months or 1500 operating hours (operating speed 1500 rev/min), respectively. 24 months or 1000 operating hours (operating speed 3000 rev/min), depending on whichever comes first.
2.3
Engine parts and accessories
The international warranty coverage for engine parts and accessories is 12 (twelve) months after the date of invoice. Parts requiring periodical maintenance are not included in this.
2.4
Repairs
Replacing parts and/or products under this warranty does not effect the original terms and conditions of the warranty. Parts replaced under the warranty are guaranteed during the remaining warranty period of the product of which they are part.
