Disassembly of AML Main Unit
3. Removing CPU Board/Analog Board /Power Board
[NOTICE]
Do not touch each front and rear face of the boards by hand when removing the boards.
1. Remove the screws (a) and take off the front panel and display board as an assembly from the main unit case. Remove the screws (c) and take off the rear panel and connector board as an assembly from the main unit case.
3.1 Notes on ROM/EEPROM Replacement
[NOTICE]
EEPROM stores the adjustment values for each specification number. When replacing the CPU board, remove the EEPROM from the broken CPU board and reuse it.
When replacing ROM or EEPROM, make sure that the concavities of the IC and socket meet each other.
2. Remove the screws (f) and separate the CPU board. Then, remove the spacers (h) and take off the analog board and power board as an assembly from the main unit case. Remove the nuts (g) and separate the analog board.

Replacing Clock Battery
Replacing Clock Battery
[NOTICE]
When the built-in clock battery is worn out, the adjustment values, error codes, and driving history cannot be backed up (saving data at power OFF). Also, when the error code or driving history is recorded in the AML, an accurate date and time cannot be recorded.
The built-in clock battery life is usually about 10 years.
If the built-in clock batteries are worn out, replace them according to the following procedure.
1. In the Case of CPU Board Employing BR1225 Battery
1. Remove the CPU board from the AML main unit.
2. Remove the battery from the battery holder on CPU board by pressing the battery diagonally.
Two built-in clock batteries are on CPU board of the AML main unit.
Ensure to replace both 2 pieces at once.
3. Set new batteries on the CPU board by pressing them diagonally. (Refer to the figure below.) The battery positive side must face upward.
Lithium battery (PANASONIC BR1225)
4. Install the CPU board in the AML main unit.
5. Reconnect the connector to the board.
2. In the Case of CPU Board Employing CR2032 Battery
[NOTICE]
One built-in clock battery is on CPU board of the AML main unit.
[NOTICE]
When removing the battery, remove while holding the battery upper (positive) side because the battery may pop up.
