1.1. Basic data Introduction

Application:

The Guided Vibratory Roller VVW3415 with a controlled undercarriage and two driven steel drums is of a simple construction, with easy control, and requires minimal maintenance. The machine may be used with vibration on both drums, or with vibration switched off as a static roller for travel back and forth. The right side without the drive makes it possible for the roller to be used right up to a wall or any other obstacle. The sprinkler allows sprinkling of the surface of both drums when working on asphalt.

Adjustable scrapers maintain the drum surface clean of lightly attached soil particles.

The vibratory roller is suited for compaction on road construction, local roads, sidewalks, industrial areas, park land, playgrounds, etc. The roller may be used in compacting asphalt layers up to 10 cm (3.9”) of final thickness, soil mixtures up to 15 cm (5.9”), sand and gravel to 20 cm (7.9”). Recommended grain size up to 63 mm (2.5”). The rollers are recommended to be used under conditions specified by standards CSN IEC 721-2-1 (038900): WT, WDR, MWDr (which is mild, warm and dry, hot and dry weather with temperature limits of minus 15 degrees C (5 degrees F) to + 45 degrees C (113 degrees F).

1.3.8.

Travel drive

The engine drives both drums mechanically over a flexible clutch and gearbox, and then by a chain drive to the driving pin on the gear crown of the drum. The engine and the gearbox are located on a spring-loaded plate.

1.3.9.

Vibration drive

The vibrator located in the lower section of the machine between the drums is driven by a wedge belt from the gear box.

1.3.10. Brakes The machine has a plate brake located in the gearbox, which can be used as a parking or emergency brake. The brake may be activated mechanically by a lever on the steering handle. The braking effect is produced by the pressure of a spring on the brake plates that close.

1.3.11. Safety equipment This equipment prevents the machine from backing up into the driver, see Fig. Should the machine come into contact with the operator, the neutral gear becomes engaged by means of a pull rod, eventually the machine moves forward.

When the high gear is engaged reverse travel is blocked.

1.3.13. Machine operation Controllers on the panel of the steering axle are connected by flexible rods with the engine and the gearbox and control the engine revolutions, travel direction, and switching on and off of the vibrator. The low and high gears are engaged by the shift rod on the gearbox.

The operator must hold on to the brake handle during travel to keep it disengaged. When the brake handle is released the machine stops and the neutral gear is engaged. Travel direction may not be changed while the machine is moving.

To prevent damage to the clutch, the direction controller may be used only when the machine is standing.

To switch from forward to back, it is necessary to release and then pull the brake lever after the direction controller has engaged neutral gear.
