1.1. Basic specifications 1.1.1.

Machine description

Rollers VH250/270/300/350 are tandem vibration rollers with articulated frames and two smooth drums. Both drums are hydrostatically driven and vibrating. The vibration of the rear drum may be switched on and off. All functions of the machine are controlled by hydrostatic motors. The frames are designed to allow for soil compaction close to walls and curbs on both sides of the machine. Their small dimensions and turning radius make the machine suitable for work in limited areas. The operator's station permits perfect visibility of both rims of the drums.

The combined rollers VH250K and VH300K with front vibration drum. The two hydromotors drive and brake the rear axle with four smooth tyre.

1.1.2.

Area of use

The rollers are intended to perform small size compaction in road construction, such as local roads, cycling paths, sidewalks, parking areas, and garage entries, and in general civil engineering work on smaller industrial areas. The rollers are particularly suited for compaction asphalt mixtures up to finished depth of 120 mm (4,72 in), however, may be used also for compacting hydraulically bonded mixtures up to finished depth of 150 mm (5,9 in), mixed soils up to 200 mm (7,87 in), or sandy and gravel materials up to 300 mm (11,8 in). The rollers are not suitable for compacting rock-fill and clay soils.

The machine has been designed for operations to ČSN IEC 721-2-1(038900); WT, WDr, MWDr, namely mild, warm and dry, or hot and dry climate, with limited temperature range of -15° C (5° F) to + 45° C (113° F).

1.1.3.

Machine design

The machine meets the requirements for “CE” mark and the requirements due to the law no. 22/1997 Sb. (i.e. CSN EN 500-1,4 and next) for the Czech Republic and Directive 2000/14/EC (EN ISO 3744).

In the course of proposal has been respected requierements of international norms for hygiene, ergonomi and safety. The machine fulfil conditions for „CE“ mark.

2.1. Description of the Machine Front frame (1) The front frame is a weldment, and it contains a fuel tank.

A plastic water tank (14) is placed in the front part of the frame along with a hydraulic oil tank (13) and a storage battery (20) with a master switch. The driving unit is flexibly mounted in the rear part of the frame. The whole space of the front frame is covered with a hinged laminated cowl.

Driving unit This unit is flexibly mounted in the front frame. It consists of a combustion engine with air cooling (6) which is driven by the travel hydraulic generator via the clutch. Two gear hydraulic generators vibration and servosteering (8) are mounted on the engine side.

Rear frame (2) The rear frame is a weldment too. The platform (15) and plastic water tank (14) are flexibly mounted on the frame.

The protective frame (21) is fixed to the rear part of the frame.

Articulated joint (3) The hinge joins the front and rear frames. It has a horizontal pin (1) and a vertical pin (2). Both are mounted in bearings that make it possible for both parts to turn horizontally as well as vertically.

Front and rear forks (4) The forks attach the drums flexibly to the rear and front frames. The travel hydraulic motor is fixed to the left fork; the absorber plate with two rubberized metal pieces is also flexibly attached to the right fork Front and rear drums (5) The drum is welded of steel plates. In the lids there are roller bearings with the shaft of the vibrator with two eccenters. The shaft is driven through a clutch by the vibration hydraulic motor. The bearings are lubricated by a grease fill. The drum rotates in the bearing in the right lid and the bearing of the hydraulic motor.

Hydraulic oil tank (13) The tank is located under the hood in the front section of the front frame. The filling throat is located on the lid of the tank.

Fuel tank (12) The tank is welded to the front frame. It has a filtering lid, intake throat (2), level gauge and drain plug. The throat is lockable (1) and has an air-bleeder.

2.1. Description of the Machine All return pipes of the hydraulic system terminate in the block on the back oil cooler. The block contains safety valve of the hydraulic loop, and the thermostat. At lower temperatures of the hydraulic oil the cooler is bypassed.

Sprinkling water tanks, front and rear (14) The machine has two water tanks for sprinkling the drums.

The tanks are interconnected; one is mounted on the front frame,

the other is part of the platform-welded unit.

The level indicator is on the side of this tank for checking water level.

In case of the combined roller, the front tank is designed for spraying the tyres. It can be filled both with water and emulsion when compacting asphalt surfaces. The rear one is designed for spraying the front drum.

Platform (15) The platform is mounted to the rear frame by a damper assembly, which protects the driver from vibrations transmitted from the vibrating drums. The platform has a seat for the driver, adjustable forward and sideways. The water tank is located under the seat. The instrument board with control devices is located on the dashboard with the steering wheel.

DRIVER'S MANUAL Engine hood (16) On the front frame, it covers the engine compartment, battery, counter of engine operating hours, sprinkling and hydraulic reservoirs. It is lockable - see fig. for the lock.

2.1. Description of the Machine Sprinkling of he drums (18) Sprinkling of the drums is used for operations on bituminous layers. Water is distributed through hoses. The system includes a filter (1), a pump (2).

The sprinkling pipes with jets (1) are fixed to the front and rear frames.

2.1. Description of the Machine Drum scrapers (19) The scrapers clean the surface of the drums. They are adjustable with replaceable plastic edges (2).

It complies with international requirements for the safety of the driver in accordance to EN 500 - 4/1995, ISO 3471/1994, SAE J 1040:APR88, and AS 2294/1990 standards for machines up to 3 800 kg (8,378 lb) of weight.

Details of the frame are shown on frame label.

Axle (24) A hydromotor (2) is attached to the guide pipe (1) welded in the carrier. A welded-up double wheel rim with two tyres is bolted to the hydromotor. The unit is attached to the rear frame.

2.2. Acceptance and de-conservation of the new machine Before a new machine is made operational

• Check the machine against delivery documents • Check that no parts of the machine have been damaged in transport or are missing

• Inform the forwarder of any discrepancies • Remove all conservation before starting operations.

• Wash the machine with pressurized hot water stream

and added degreasing chemicals. Observe ecological rules.

2.3. Main safety regulations 2.3.1.

Safety regulations for the machine’soperation

The safety regulations mentioned in the individual chapters of the technical documentation delivered with the machine must be completed with the safety regulations valid in the appropriate country where the machine is being used on the working place, considering the work organization, working process and the staff.

2.3.1.1. Before starting the compaction works • The contractor of the building operations (machine

operator) is obliged to give the instruction for the driver and maintenance staff before starting the compaction works. The instruction must contain the requirements for secu- ring the work safety when manipulating the machine.

2.4. Ecological and hygienic fundamentals During operating and storing the machines is the owner obliged to obey the common regulations of health and environment safety and laws, regulations and rules corresponding to this area and valid in the area of using the machine.

2.4.1.

Hygienic fundamentals

• Oils, radiator, brake systems and accumulators fillings, cleaning and conserving agents and paints including thinners are harmful materials. Workers in contact with these products during the driving or maintenance of the machine are obliged to obey the common rules of the self-health protection and follow the safety and hygienic manuals from the manufacturers of this products.

We emphasize on:

eyes and skin protection when working with accumulators

skin protection when working with oils, radiator or brake liquids, cleaning and conserving agents, with paints

proper washing the hands after finishing the work and before the meal, treat the hands with appropriate reparation cream.

when working with cooling systems obey the maintenance manual

• Oils, radiator, brake systems and accumulators fillings, cleaning and conserving agents and paints including organic thinners and also cleaning and conserving agents always keep in original properly signed vessels. Don t allow the storing of these materials in non-signed vessels and other bottles due to danger of exchange. Extremely dangerous is a possibility of exchange with meal or drinkables.

• In the case of accidental stain of the skin, mucous

membranes, eyes or of inhalation of the vapor, apply immediately first aid. In such case find the emergency first aid by the doctors.

• Always use proper type and design of ear-protectors when working with the machine without cabin or with open windows.

2.4.2.

Ecological fundamentals

• The fillings of individual machine systems and also some parts are after blackout the risk garbage for the environment.

To this category of waste products belongs :

organic and synthetic lubricants, oils and fuels

cooling liquids

accumulator fills and accumulators themselves

the conditioner systems fillings

cleaning and conserving materials

all dismounted filters and filter inserts

all used and blackouted hydraulic and fuel pipes, rubber steels and other machine parts, contained by materials mentioned above.

With materials and parts listed above we must manipulate after blackout according to the appropriate national regulations for individual environment parts protection and according to the health protection regulations.

2.5. Conservation and Storage of the machines 2.5.1.

Short-time conservation and storagefor the period of 1-2 months

Carefully wash and clean the whole machine. Before blackout for the conservation and storing let the machine get warm starting the engine to the working temperature of 85 °C (185 °F). The machine must be placed on a solid flat area in a secured place where is no danger of damage the machine by natural disasters (floods, landslide, fire and so on).

Next: repair all places of damaged paint

2.5.2.

Machine conservation and storage for the period longer than 2 months

For the blackout of the machine are valid the same regulation as for the short-time conservation.

In addition we recommend to:

dismount the accumulators, check their status and let them fully charge, store them in a cold and dry room and recharge them regularly every 3 months

apply a special preservative preparation to rubber elements

apply a special preservative preparation to the chromium-plated surface of the piston rod,

apply a special preservative preparation spray to the machine, especially where rust might appear.

lubricate all lubricating places, rigging, pinned handlers etc.

check if the water fillings are discharged

check if the cooling liquid has the required anti-frost qualities

check the status of charge the accumulators, possibly get them recharge

the engine suction and outlet blind with double PE foil, which hang properly by rounding with cellotape

chromium-plated piston-rod areas coat with conservative grease

the lights, outer driving mirrors and next elements of outer electric installation protect by spraying of TECTYL 506 and likes and wrap to PE foil

we recommend to protect the machine against corrosion by spraying of conservative agent RUST PEL, etc. (by applied spraying), and mainly on the places with danger of rise the corrosion

conserve the engine according to the manufacturer s manual - make a visible signs of engine conservation

Corrosion protection of the machine using preservative preparation spray is recommended, especially where there is a danger of rust.

On such a treat machine is not to provide some special preparations before consequently work deploying.

After six months we recommend to check the conservation status and if necessary, to regenerate it.

Before machine work deploying, clean the conservatives by high-pressure stream of hot water with additive of common degreasing agents, exceptionally use the paraffin or oil obeying the ecological rules.

During the storage never start the engine!

De-conservation and cleaning the machine make on the places with the catchment for catching the waste water and de-conservative agents.

In the case of machine storing in a field conditions check if the place is not exposed to the danger of float as the result of floods or if there isn’t such danger of other kinds !!

2.6. Machine dispose after its lifecycle By the machine dispose after its lifecycle is the user obliged to obey the national regulations and laws about wastes and environment protection. We recommend to contact in such cases always specialized companies, with a professional prime activities on this field and with appropriate license manufacturers of STA or by them delegated accredited contractor service organizations.

STA is not responsible both for the damages on the owners health and the damages caused on the environment in the cases of infringement of above specified hygienic and ecological fundamentals.

DRIVER'S MANUAL Travel controller (2) Direction and speed are controlled by this device.

If it is in its neutral position ( 0 ), the brake is on and the machine can be started.

When the machine has been started you must draw the controller towards yourself and change the position from N to D travelling position.

Controller position F1 = the machine goes forward at working speed.

Controller position B1 = the machine goes backward at working speed.

Controller position F2 = the machine goes forward at travelling speed.

Controller position B2 = the machine goes backward at travelling speed.

The vibration switch (ON/OFF) (2) is in the controller handle and by means of it you can switch on or off vibrations during compaction.

Emergency brake button (6) In the event of any defect the machine cannot be stopped by switching positions of the travelling controller (2) it is necessary to use the emergency brake button. After pushing the button the brake is applied and the engine switches off. Pilot lamp (18) is ON. The brake is released by turning the button in the direction of the arrow.

Never use the STOP button as a brake!

If the switch of the emergency brake is pushed down, the engine cannot be started.

Pay attention to the following information: Travelling speed corresponds to the size of controller deflection in the speed mode chosen.

Warning horn push button (7) The horn sounds when the push button is depressed.

The controller is fixed at the set position.

The travel controller serves also as a service brake of the machine.

Accelerator controller (4) It is used for setting combustion engine revolutions in the range of idling rate (approximately RPM 900/min and maximum rate see Figure 20.

The accelerator controller is coupled using a rope with the handle of the fuel injection pump. If vibration is used, the controller is arrested in two positions (cutouts in the cam plate) according to the required vibration rate in Hz (VPM = vibration per minute).

Parking brake switch (8) It is used for brake activation the function is indicated with (17) pilot lamp.

After shifting the travel controller to the neutral position (the rollere is braked after 2 sec.) the switch is on and the brakes are applied immediately.

It should be used when the brakes must be applied immediately (e.g. when working on a slope). You must release the brake using the switch before starting.

Never apply the parking brake when the machine is running!

Switch box (5) The box has four positions, i. e., 0 , I , II , and III .

0 position = ENGINE STOP I position = all appliances are connected II position = engine heating is ON in cold weather it is necessary to hold the ignition key in this position for about one minute III position = ENGINE START.

Battery charging indicator (14) The indicator signals correct battery-charging condition.

When the ignition key (5) is turned to "1" the indicator lights up and goes off after starting. If not, look for defect.

Engine overheating warning indicator (15) When the engine temperature reaches the highest allowable level, the engine overheating pilot lamp goes ON, an audible warning is given.

Engine lubrication pilot lamp (18) It indicates sufficient oil pressure in the lubrication system of the engine. After switching the key to 1 position the lamp must go ON and after starting it goes OFF.

If the lamp goes ON when the engine is running, insufficient lubrication of the engine is indicated.

When the lamp goes ON while the engine is running, stop the engine immediately!

Hydraulic fluid heater warning indicator (16) When the fluid temperature reaches the highest allowable level the fluid owerhaitng warm lamp goes ON, an audible warning is given.

Sprinkling operation indicator (19) The indicator signals drum sprinkling. The sprinkling pump is on.

Brake indicator (17) The lit up indicator signals that the brake is on.

Vibration indicator (20) The indicator signals vibration on. Vibration is turned on or off with the switch in the travel controller.

When starting with the auxiliary power supply, is not permitted to disconnect this supply sooner than the machine’s accumulators are connected. Watch out for the starting voltage of the auxiliary power suply (for 12 V).

Don’t disconnect the accumulator battery when the engine is on.

• Shift the travelling controller (2) to N neutral position

(the engine can be started only in the neutral position).

• Insert the ignition key into the switch box (5) and shift

• Switch the key into the suspended II position and hold it there for about one minute (preheating) (this step can be omitted if the engine is warm or in the case of a high ambient temperature).

Never use vibration for longer than 30 seconds when the machine stays on the spot as the vibrator bearings could be damaged. Never start vibration on hard (frozen, concrete) ground.

• Turn vibration off.

• Place the machine on a flat surface with sufficient load-

• Lower motor revolutions.

• Stop the motor by turning the key to "0". Let a hot motor run idle for about 1 to 2 minutes at 1000 rpm. The machine applies brakes automatically thereafter.

• Remove key (1) from the switch box.

In case of emergency, particularly on a slope, stop the machine immediately by pressing the parking brake switch after the travel lever was shifted to neutral.

If the lubrication indicator lights up during travel, stop the motor immediately, find the defect and repair it.

• Close and lock the lid over the dashboard to protect it against vandals.

The running-in period

During the running-in period (60 hours) use 1 st degree vibration only, 53 Hz (VPM). The number of revolutions should not exceed 70 % of the maximum value. The longer the running-in period under reduced load, the longer the life of engine components, and lower costs on maintenance and operation can be expected.

Attention!

The motor may not be run in with prolonged runs at low loads, less than half,, or at low revolutions. The piston rings will not be properly adapted with resulting increased use of oil and smoke emission. After 60 hours, the motor is properly run in and may be fully loaded.

• Dismantle the protective frame in reverse order.

• Attach the protective frame by the hooks installed in upper threads of the crossbeam of the protective frame.

Safety regulations Use hoists and ropes of sufficient load-carrying capacity.

Lashing may be done by a qualified person only.

Do not enter underneath lifted load.

• Place the protective frame on the rear frame of the machine and fix it with 12 bolts M20x50 (8G) with torque of 314 Nm (232 lb ft).

2.9. Machine transport 2.9.1.

Moving the machine on the site

The machine moves on its own over the site outside public roads. Observe safety regulations applicable to specific sites.

During times of low visibility the machine must have its headlights turned on.

2.9.2.

Moving the machine on public roads

• The basic modification of the machine is not equipped for moving on its own on public roads, and its travel there is forbidden.

• The roller may be moved loaded on a truck of suitable carrying capacity. The machine must be properly fastened to the carrier vehicle. The binding points are following: front and rear fastening eyes at the side plates of the drum frame.

SAFETY REGULATIONS The transport machine must be for transport the machine during the loading and unloading locked and mechanically secured against non-desirable move using the scotchs.

When running on the transporting device and running out are all personnel obliged to get out of it except the machine driver, to prevent the accidents if the machine falls down.

The worker vectoring the machine on the transporting device must stand still on one place out of the machine and out of the transporting device a be in sight of the driver (in a visual contact) during the whole period of the running on and out.

The worker vectoring the machine must communicate with the driver using the specified communicating signs.

When transporting the machine (on the platform) there can’t be any personnel nor on the platform, neither on the machine.

The machine must be on the platform properly hanged and mechanically secured against shifting to all directions and also against turn over. The tires must be blocked using the scotchs.

Before undergoing the underpasses, bridges, tunnels, elevated traces, check their height.

To load the machine on a vehicle use loading ramps or cranes.

For loading by the crane the roller has hooks installed on its frame.

Prior to lifting the flexible hinge must be secured against unwanted turning by moving the securing rod (1) into the holder (4) on the rear frame of the machine and fixing it with pin (3) with split pin (5).

Releasing brakes of the hydraulic motor: Unscrew release plugs 1/2 turn each in turn. Repeat sequence again at least once.

Towing the machine - General Safety Instructions Before you release the brakes, wedge the both drums against any spontaneous movement of the machine thereafter.

When towing the roller, check, if the brakes do not get warm because of insufficient releasing. When the brakes of gears, hydromotors are released and the hydraulic circuit short-circuited, no braking system is available! All the service, emergency and parking brakes are out of operation!

Do not start the engine during towing.

For towing use undamaged ropes or tow bars of sufficient capacity 1.5 x higher than the weight of the towed vehicle. Do not use a chain for towing!

Nobody may be on the vehicle that is being towed with non-functioning motor.

It is necessary to maintain the minimal deviation from the direct towing angle. Maximum deviation is possible within 30°.

Smooth and constant movement must be maintained in towing. Do not exceed towing speed by more than 2 km/hour (1.2 mph) and do not tow for more than 300 m (0.19 miles) The towing machine should correspond by its size to the damaged machine. It must have sufficient towing power, weight and braking effect.

When towing down hill an additional machine must be attached to the rear end of the machine. This way it is possible to prevent an inadvertent movement of the damaged machine.

These are general requirements for a safe towing of the machine under normal conditions. Any possibly different situation that could occur during towing must be consulted with the dealer When towing is completed, return the machine into its original shape.

Do not start the motor until the machine is put into the state before unbraking! There is a danger of damaging the hydromotors.

2.10. Special conditions of the machine use 2.10.1. Travel with vibration on thecompacted and hard materials

2.10.2. Operating the machine under more severe weather conditions

By travel with tha machine under vibrations there could occur lost of the trad contact with the compacted material (so called vibroimpact) due to high ratio of the base material compaction or due to travel on the hard materials. That condition is realized by transfer the vibrations to the machine frame and to the driver´s post. Particulary wqe can remove the effects by increasing the travel speed or by changing the vibration values of the mechine (using lower amplitude). The increasing vibrations transfer to the driver´s post can occur also with the increasing ratio of base compacted material.

2.10.2.1. Machine operation at low temperatures

If there is a need to work with the machine under the conditions where the personel can be exposed to the incresed vibrations, the supervisor is obliged to change the working process to avoid the threating the driver´s health.

Long-term work in the vibrationstroke mode is not allowed. The machine could be damaged in extreme situations.

Compacting in winter depends on the content of minute particles and water in the compacted soil. With dropping temperature below freezing the ground becomes firmer and more difficult to be compacted.

If it becomes necessary to work at temperatures below 0 °C (32 °F), it is possible to compact dry soil and gravel or do fast compacting of unfrozen materials before the ground freezes solid.

Preparations of the machine for work at low temperatures · Change oil for oil recommended for the specific range of low ambient temperatures. ·

Use hydraulic oil of corresponding kinetic viscosity

Check charge of the battery

For good starting at low temperatures the battery must be fully charged. By warming up the battery to 20 °C (68 °F), by taking it out and storing it in a warm room, the limit temperature for starting is lowered by 4 to 5 °C (39 to 41 °F).

The machine may be used only after the fluids have been heated up to working temperature.

every 10 °C (50 °F) of increased temperature cau-ses the power drop up to 4 % (at constant humidity).

2.10.2.4. Work in dusty environments If the environment is very dusty, reduce intervals of cleaning the air filter and change its elements more frequently; clean the engine cooler and hydraulics more often too.

Compaction near to constructions or underground ingeneers nets and cables If there isd a need to compact near the constructions or engineers nets and cables, we have to judge the vibrations influence affected by the machine work to the constructions or ingeneers nets and cables, to avoid the threat to the constructions or ingeneers nets and cables.

The manufacturer is not responsible for the damages done by using the machine near to the constructions or underground ingeneers nets and cables !

If the engine at the high altitudes (over 1500 m) smokes black smoke, contact the engine manufacturer s service, that will provide the adjusting of the injection pump due to these conditions.

3.1. Filling specifications

Considering that the oil viscosity is changing with the temperature, is dominant for the viscosity class SAE (Society of automotive engineers) the ambient temperature and the kind of use the machine on the working place. The overrun the lower temperature limit doesn t cause the engine damages, can only cause the difficult engine starts.

The overrun of the upper temperature limit due to the decreasing the oil lubricating abilities could not be for a longer time.

Is recommended to use the universal wide-scope oil to prevent the oil exchanges because of the ambient temperature changes.

All-year recommended oil is SAE 15W-40 due to the diagram.

For easier engine starting under temperatures slightly over 0 °C (32 °F) is possible to use the SAE 10W-30 oil due to the diagram.

Regularly change the oil in intervals according to the table after 500Mh (MPH). If we don t reach the oil exchange interval within one year, change the oil irrespectively to the number of motorhours after 1 year.

Oil exchange interval is influenced by the sulfur amount in the weight % in diesel oil.

3.1.2.

Winter fuel

Fuel

As an engine fuel is used the diesel oil :

• CEN EN 590 or DIN/EN 590 (proposal) • DIN 51 601 • BS 2869 (1998) : A1 and A2 • ASTM D 975-88: 1-D and 2-D • VV-F-800C : DF-A, DF-1 and DF-2 • NATO code F-54 and F-75 Common fuel for the diesel engines contains the sulfate amount under 0,5% of weight, when using the fuel with bigger sulfate amount 0,5 1 % is necessary to decrease the oil exchange intervals to one half.

Under lower temperatures under +5 °C (41 °F) by the common diesel fuel the causes the separation of paraffins in the machine fuel system. Separated paraffins can cause the faults even disable the machine s operations.

In that case , under ambient temperatures under +5 °C (41 °F) use the winter diesel fuel.

The diesel fuel is usually changed by the distributors due to the year season.

When using the summer diesel fuel under temperatures near the 0 °C (32 °F) mix to the diesel fuel the kerosene for improving the lower-temperature qualities.

The dependence of the temperature to the added kerosene amount shows the diagram.

Sufficient anti-freeze quality we can reach also by adding the additive to the fuel for improving the liquidity (fuel additives).

Do the mixing only in the tank. Fill first the tank with determined mount of kerosene, then replenish with the fuel.

It is strictly required to use above specified brands of diesel fuel only.

Usage of different fuel (like Bio-fuels, or Light heating oils of any kind) is strictly PROHIBITED.

The mixtures of winter fuels are equally flammable as the gas itself – keep the fire regulations !

3.1. Filling specifications Synthetic hydraulic oil

3.1.3.

Hydraulic Oil

The hydraulic system may be filled with synthetic oil.

For use in the hydraulic system of the machine, only highquality hydraulic oils of output class according to ISO 6743/HV (equal to DIN 51524 part 3 HVLP; CETOP RP 91 H).

The machines are filled with hydraulic oil of kinetic viscosity 46 mm2/s at 40 °C (104 °F) ISO VG 46 by the manufacturer. This particular oil is suited for applications in the widest range of ambient temperatures.

The requirements for ageing resistance are exceeded several times. In case of leakage oil is completely degraded by microorganisms present in water and soil.

! NOTE !

When filling biologically fast-degradable oils, mixing with up to 2% of the total tank content is allowed.

Move from mineral oils to synthetic Such a change must be made according to VDMA 24´569.

When filling older machines with PANOLIN HLP Synth product the residual limit of mineral oils must not exceed 8% of the total fill.

For the oil, diesel fuel manipulation, use the vessels as the steel barrels, cans, sheet metal jugs.

Don’t allow the storing of these materials in non-signed vessels and other bottles due to danger of exchange. Extremely dangerous is a possibility of exchange with meal or drinkables.

In the case of accidental stain of the skin, mucous membranes, eyes or of inhalation of the vapor, apply immediately first aid. In such case find the emergency first aid by the doctors.

Check and add oil to motor

Do before starting the motor; the machine must be level on firm and straight ground If the motor was running, wait about 5 minutes for the oil to run down in the sump.

When operating the machine on steeper slopes, maintain oil level on MAX. Add oil of the same type only.

Check tightness of the motor, repair if necessary.

Raise the hood, pull out the dipstick (1), wipe with lint free cloth.

Inspect the motor to find any possible defects or missing parts, or visible discrepancies.

Reinsert fully and read off the oil level with dipstick out.

While the motor is being run in, we recommend checking oil twice daily.

Oil level must be between marks MAX and MIN on the dipstick.

Unscrew plug (2) in the filling throat and add oil. Wait about a minute and recheck.

Don’t start the engine until reaching the proper oil level in the engine.

Use the recommended oil only according to chapter 3.1.1.

Check indicator (1), for increased suction vacuum. If red field appears on the indicator, the main cartridge must be cleaned or replaced.

Clean or replace cartridge only when it reaches maximum permitted values. The vacuum indicator is in the red field.

Follow Chapter 3.5.25. for cleaning or replacing cartridges.

After the clean or new cartridge was installed set the indicator to zero by pressing the button on its body.

Start the motor –lubrication (18) and charging (14) lights should turn off.

Check the electrolyte level after opening the plugs of accumulator cells - if the electrolyte level reaches to the 5-15 mm in each cell.

The cells with lower electrolyte level refill with distilled water to specified level.

Close the accumulators.

! NOTE !

Keep the accumulators dry and clean.

The requirements for the accumulators are extremely high in winter season. The accumulators have only part of their capacity needful for starting the machine at lower temperatures comparing with the capacity during normal conditions. For that case we recommen-ded to check the battery electrolyte status and necessary recharge.

If the machine is not used during heavy frost weather during a few weeks, dismount the accumulators and store them such way to protect them against the frost. Otherwise they can be damaged by the frost.

NOTE

• Check the level using a glass tube.

• Should the machine not be used during winter period - for couple of weeks, dismantle the batteries and store them away from frosts. Check batteries and charge level before and during storage.

! NOTE !

Keep the batteries dry and clean.

Close batteries after checking.

Refill battery with distilled water only - never with acid.

Refill distilled water immediately before working with the machine or before recharging the battery.

Recharge insufficiently charged battery.

Recharge batteries dismantled from the machine.

Open the plugs before recharging.

Do not disconnect the battery under running engine.

Always follow the instructions of the manufacturer, when working with the battery.

Do not turn batteries upside down to avoid draining of electrolyte from venting of the battery.

Use protective gloves and eye protection equipment when working with the battery.

In case of spilling electrolyte wash such a place with water and neutralise with lime.

Wear suitable dress to protect your skin against staining with electrolyte.

Dispose of old damaged batteries.

In case of an eye injured by electrolyte immediately wash the eye with flowing water for couple of minutes. Then seek medical advice.

In case of ingestion of electrolyte drink maximum possible amount of milk, water or mixture of magnesium oxide with water.

In case of staining your skin with electrolyte take off your clothes and shoes, wash injured spots with soap water or with solution of soda and water as soon as possible. Then seek medical advice.

Do not eat, drink and smoke during operation!

Wash your hands and face carefully with soap and water after finishing you work!

Do not test whether wires are alive by touching the frame of the machine.

Disconnect the battery to avoid shortcircuit when repairing it or manipulating with wires and electric equipment in the circuit of electric system.

Disconnect the minus pole wire first when disconnecting the battery. Connect the plus pole wire first when connecting the battery.

In case of contact of both poles of the battery the short-circuit may cause explosion of the battery.

Prepare the convenient vessel with capacity approx.

Dismount the outlet plug (1) and let the oil flow out.

Clean the contact area for the filter packing. The rubber filter paking slightly lubricate with oil and screw it back, properly tighten.

Check the worm and clean the contact area for the packing.

Mount the plug back. Tightening moment 50 Nm (37 ft lb).

Fill the engine with clean engine oil by the filling neck (2). (348M0002) The whole content is 6,5 l (1,72 gal US) of oil.

3.5.16. Inspection and adjusting of the play of cooling fan belt

Check by visual mean the belt status at whole circumference (heavily jagged borders, rifts) Check the belt strain – push the thumb to belt using power of approx. 30-50 N – the flexure must not be greater than 10-15mm.

The scale leg (1) push to the measuring instrument.

The measure leader (3) place between pulleys on vbelt (2) – the stop must lie on the belt side.

Push the button (4) perpendicularly to the v-belt until the spring is hearable or sensible loaded.

Carefully take out the scale to avoid the movement of scale leg (1).

Read the measured value in the point of scale cut (see pointer) (5).

The value tigtening of belt with use gauge: Tension value - 400±20 N Tension value * - 300±20 N

Drain oil when warm – not hot – below 50 °C (122°F).

Place the machine on a flat, firm and horizontal base.

Stop the motor and disconnect electrical wiring.

Clean thoroughly and open the hydraulic tank lock.

Remove draining plug of the oil tank (1), catch oil to a ready vessel. The content is 38 liters (10 US gallons).

Dismantle cover (2). Dismantle suction strainer (3).

Wash the suction strainer in gasoline and blow the strainer with pressure air from inside.

Check the condition of the suction strainer; replace the strainer in case of damaged filter part. Check the inside of the tank. Carefully clean the bottom and flush it with new oil if there are any impurities at the bottom.

Mount the strainer to the suction pipe.

For dismantled the entire upper cover (2), use a new Teflon sealing strip.

Remove filter container (2) with the filter cartridge using wrench 36; take the cartridge out.

Every 2000 Hours or Every 2 Years On hydro-engines, hydro-generators fault, that cause the destruction of inner aggregates parts, is necessary to clean the hydraulic tank inside and remove the mechanical impurities before mounting the new aggregate.

This professional work must do the worker trained on the hydraulics branch only.

When working, keep the cleanness – avoid the contamination of the system by agents that can cause damage of important aggregates !

For cleaning use the cleaning means without staples.

The vessels with new hydraulic oil close (cover) – they can be contaminated, penetrated by water and so on.

Start the motor, adjust RPM to 1200 and test all functions until all loops are full.

Check for leaks, add oil to level MAX, close the tank.

Don’t open the hydraulic tank unnecessarily!

When changing the oil operate due to the ecological instructions and the hygienic principles !

When out-flowing the hot oil, watch out for possibility of burn ups.

Clean the inside of the filter housing in a manner that would not deposit dust inside the inlet pipe to the motor.

Clean the seating surface for the seal in the filter housing.

Press the seal on the new cartridge to see its flexibility.

Make sure that the seal sits tight.

•

Check connections and pipes to see if tight.

Forbidden procedures!

The cartridge may be cleaned no more than 5 times before being replaced by a new one. It must be also replaced after one year of use.

Note each cleaning on the lid.

If the cartridge is soiled by carbon particles, it must be replaced, since cleaning is not possible.

After cleaning check that the cartridge has not been damaged (use light). If damaged it must be replaced.

Never use damaged cartridge.

Do not remove cartridge just for its inspection.

Do not judge soiled cartridge by its looks only.

Do not leave the filter open longer than absolutely necessary.

Do not use filter with a damaged lid of housing.

Do not clean the cartridge by knocking on it.

Use only original approved cartridge.

Do not clean using fluid cleaner.

The complete cleaning do regularly minimal once per week. When working on cohesive grounds, cement and lime stabilizations must be the complete cleaning done daily.

Don’t use the aggressive and easily inflammable cleaning agents (e.g. petrol and/or easily flammable agents).

Do the work under engine set down.

When using the steam cleaner don’t expose the electrical parts or insulation material to direct steam stream. Always cover such materials. Disconnect the accumulator’s disconnector !

Before cleaning the machine by pressure water cleaners, by steam and so on, daze all holes where is the possibility of contamination by the cleaning agent (e.g. engine suction hole, inner alternator space and so on). After cleaning the machine remove the dazes.

The machine washing do on places equipped with catchments for catching the waste water.

Note: The range of the pressure values is determined by the conditions during compaction and the weight of the machine.

Pay attention to the equal pressure in all tyres.
