PROCEDURE FOR RUNNING A CAMPAIGN REPORT 1. Access the DCS On-Line Main Menu.

2. At the NH DCS Dealer Warranty Inquiry/Training Registration menu, enter 10 (Campaign Report) and press Transmit.

3. At the Dealer Campaign Report menu, enter the desired Campaign number or leave blank for all Campaigns.

4. At the Campaign Activation Date Range field, accept the default date, which is one year, or enter a specific date range to limit your search.

5. At the all Units (Y/N) field, accept the default Y to display all units, or enter N to display the incomplete units only.

6. At the Incomplete Only (Y/N) field, accept the default N to display all your units, or enter Y to display your incomplete units only.

7. Press F6 (Mailbox) to send the details of your inquiry to your mailbox.

8. To exit the system, press F3=Exit. At the Dealer Warranty Inquiry/Training Registration menu, enter 99 and press Transmit.

CAMPAIGN - 000358 SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS 11. Lower boom and install attachment or bucket.

1. Park machine on level surface.

2. Remove any attachment or bucket.

3. Raise boom and support on lock pins.

4. Remove key and disconnect the battery to prevent accidental starting while working around engine fan blade.

5. Open rear door and lift hood to gain access to top radiator hose area.

6. (A) Drill a 8mm (5/16 inch) hole (A) 165 mm (6.5 inch) from edge and 25mm (1 inch) down from the top of the shroud as shown in Figure 1.

1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower and remove the implement(s).

2. Raise the Boom and set it on the Boom Locks.

3. Stop the Engine.

4. Turn the battery disconnect "OFF" or disconnect the battery ground cable.

5. Access the R.H. side of the Engine by opening the Rear Door, lifting the Top Engine Screen, and removing the R.H. Side Engine Panel.

8. Position Fuel Filter Head Brace (G) P/N 2854144 between the Fuel Filter Bracket (B) and Engine Block.

9. Attach Fuel Filter Head Brace (G) to the Fuel Filter Bracket (B) using Screw (H) P/N 9804263 (M10 x 40) and reusing Nut (E). Torque Screw to 54-61Nm (40-45 lbf-ft).

10. Attach Fuel Filter Head Brace (G) to the Engine using Screw (I) P/N 9804258 (M8 x 20). Torque Screw to 27-31 Nm (20-23 lbf-ft).

6. Replace both Screws (C) with new Screws (M8 x 16) P/N 4899068. Torque to 24 Nm +/- 4 Nm (18 lbf-ft +/- 3 lbf-ft).

11. Assemble unit.

7. Remove Screw (D) P/N 4899093 (M10 x 30).

Discard Screw and retain the Nut (E) P/N 4895166.

SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS FOR LS185.B EXCESSIVE ENGINE VIBRATION ENGINE MOUNT CAMPAIGN SEERVICE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Park machine on level surface, lower and remove the implement(s).

2. Raise the Boom and set it on Boom Locks.

3. Stop the Engine (the Parking Brake applies automatically).

4. Open Rear Door and Top Engine Screen.

5. Remove both Engine Side Panels.

6. a.On units without Heater/AC, remove Top Engine Screen Prop Rod. This will allow you to pivot the Screen in place and allow for more room when using the Engine Hoist. Secure the Screen with rope or cord to keep it from tipping over. b. On units with Heater/AC, remove the Prop Rod and securing the Screen with rope or cord will allow for very little additional room.

7. At the Fan End of the Engine, loosen and remove Engine Mount Screw and Lock Nut.

9. Replace original isolators with new isolators (C).

Reuse existing Cups (B), Spacer (D) and Washer (E), see Figure 2. Install on Rear Engine Mount Weldment.

LIFT BRACKET - FAN END OF ENGINE

NOTE: If original Engine Mounts included a Washer between the Bottom Isolator and Cup, do not reuse the Washer. This Washer is no longer needed with the improved Durometer Isolators.

NOTE: New Isolators have green and white paint dots on them for identification.

A. ENGINE FAN

8. Using an Engine Hoist/Shop Hoist attached to the Lift Bracket A) located at the Fan End of the Engine, see Figure 1, Lift the engine just enough to remove the Rear Engine Mount Assembly.

NOTE: Do not lift Engine high enough to cause the Engine Fan (A) to hit the Fan Shroud.

10. Install Engine Mount Screw. Install Lock Nut Finger tight. The Screw will be fully tightened once the other mounts have been installed and the Engine lowered from the Hoist.

11. Lower and remove the Engine Hoist from the Fan End Lift Bracket.

12. Remove the Air Cleaner Assembly and Suppor ting Bracket (the Lift Bracket at the Flywheel End of the Engine is located directly under these components.

15. Lift Engine far enough to slide out both R.H. and L.H. Engine Mounts.

16. Replace Engine Isolators with new Isolators on both R.H. and L.H. Mount Assemblies. Reuse existing Cups (B), Spacer (D) and Washer (E).

Install on Front Engine Mount Weldments.

NOTE: If original Engine Mounts included a Washer between the Bottom Isolator and Cup, do not reuse the Washer. This Washer is no longer needed with these improved Durometer Isolators.

17. Install Screws and Lock Nuts on both R.H. and L.H. Do not fully tighten the screws.

APPROXIMATE INSTALLATION TIME - 4 HOURS PLEASE READ THE COMPLETE INSTRUCTION SHEET BEFORE INSTALLATION OF THIS KIT 1. Suitably position the combine in the workshop and or on a level hard surface. Engage the Parking Brake, shut OFF the engine and remove the key from the ignition switch.

2. Refer to the CX Repair Manual, Section 10, Chapter 4 for the injection pump removal and installation procedure. These instructions can also be used for Series CS, CL, TX and TC. 3. Remove the four injection pump mounting bolts (1).

4. Install the new bolts and tap into place with a small hammer or drift to ensure that the bolts are fully seated into the bores.

2 5. Remove and discard the two timing case bolts (1). If bolt fails during removal, use a punch or chisel to stake the hole in the plate so broken piece of bolt cannot come out.

NOTE: The bolts are removed and not replaced.

This will not create any future consequential risks.

The removal of the bolts is to prevent the risk of the bolt head shearing off, resulting in damage to the timing gear train.

6. When the pump mounting bolts have been replaced and the two timing case bolts removed, reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly, as detailed in the Repair Manual.

This results in the edge of the door cutting the PTO shield.

ACTION/CORRECTION Service: After installing a PTO assembly, check the operation of the door covering the gearbox with respect to the PTO shield. If interference exists, material must be removed from the door.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION To remove the appropriate amount of material from the door, follow these steps: 4. Determine the amount of the material that should be removed from the door to allow for 6 mm (1/4 inch) of clearance when the door is closed.

2. Thoroughly clean the area around the main frame and front axle.

4. Working with one reinforcement plate, remove the two front bolts, 1.

ACTION/CORRECTION Service: Order the appropriate kit and additional parts for either a 30-foot or 36-foot header, as well as additional parts from the 84C Flex Draper parts manual.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION To replace skid shoes on a 30-foot 84C Header, follow these steps: NOTE: Right-hand and left-hand designations are determined from the operator’s position facing forward.

5. Replace the guards and hold-downs that were removed in Step 2. Check the clearance of the hold-downs to the knife section to ensure a clearance of 0.508 mm (0.020 inch).

6. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 to install the next adjacent assembly, and continue to work from the non-drive end to the drive end of the header, until the entire cutterbar has been completed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The EST Version 4.2.0.0 Update 1 CD can be added to EST version 4.1.0.0 Update 1 (which is the current version) or to EST Version 4.2.0.0 (which will soon be available). Download this 4.2.0.0 Update 1 CD to your EST version 4.1.0.0 now. Then in the future, when the 4.2.0.0 release is received and installed, download the 4.2.0.0 Update 1 CD again, because the 4.2.0.0 release will not contain the information in the 4.2.0.0 Update 1.

ACTION/CORRECTION The Precision Farming Software for the CR and CX combines has been enhanced to provide “Farm”, “Field”, and “Load” capabilities. This allows the customer to subdivide portions of fields for variety management, test strips, bin management, etc. The previous Job structure is obsolete.

Production: All model year 2005 machines have this capability.

To install the update CD to Version 4.1.0.0 or 4.2.0.0: 1. Close the EST software

NOTE: The customer is not required to upgrade to the new precision farming data structure, but any future electronic updates to the combine software (EST 4.3.0.0 or higher) will force the customer to install the new farm/field/load structure. This will require an upgrade of the PFS desktop software to version 5.2 or higher in order to view the harvest information on the desktop PC.

When upgrading the DLU to version 4.0.0.0, two files must be downloaded: 1. The first is done by selecting the file called DLU_BOOT_1_11_0_0.hx1, then selecting ’Begin Download’ on the Programming screen in the EST. After completing this first step you MUST power down the DLU (Data Logger Unit) by turning the key to the OFF position, then waiting 20 seconds, and returning it to the ON position.

2. The second step is an upgrade of the application software. This is done by selecting the file called DLU_4_0_0_0.hx1, then selecting ‘Begin Download’ on the Programming screen in the EST. NOTE: CR and CX combines which use only the data logger (no Intellivew Plus installed) and have the Farm/Field/Load structure software update, will require that the dealers refer to supplemental pages for their Operator’s manual. UPGRADE PROCEDURE FOR NH100, NH110, AND NH134 GPS RECEIVERS To identify the software version: To identify the current software version in the GPS receiver of the combine, follow the procedure in the combine’s Operator’s Manual, page 2--77. This explains how to open the GPS Virtual Terminal in the Infoview monitor. From here, these instructions and the Trimble manual will take over. This manual is furnished by Trimble with every GPS receiver.

Use the navigation arrows (<, >, ∧, ∨) to move to the window that provides a report of the current software version. Refer to the “Navigation Map” in the Trimble manual. (From HOME go to STATUS, then to RECEIVER STATUS, then to FIRMWARE VERSION.) To remove the NH134 receiver from the cab: To remove GPS receiver model NH134, which is mounted inside the cab above the windshield, push in on the side locking pins, 1, located on the right and left sides of the face of the unit, and pull toward you.

The actual receiver is mounted within the antenna housing.

It may not be necessary to remove the antenna/receiver assembly from the grain tank.

The communications harness (part number 87418417) will likely be long enough to reach a laptop sitting in the cab.

If removal of the antenna/receiver assembly is necessary, undo the one--point hardware that holds the antenna/receiver assembly to the mounting plate.

Whether the antenna/receiver assembly is removed from the grain tank or remains there, disconnect the one electrical cable.

To connect the GPS receiver to the EST: The communications harness (part number 87418417) has connectors for the GPS receiver (or antenna/receiver assembly), 1, for the serial port of the laptop containing the EST software, 2, and for a source of 12 vdc electrical power, 3.

The final window will change title to “Flashloader 100” and the display will say, “Requested operations completed successfully”. Click the “OK” button, 1, Figure 10.

You may now disconnect the communications harness (part number 87418417) and reinstall the receiver.

OPERATOR INFORMATION

IV HARVEST INFO SCREEN (Precision Farming)

Select the harvest information screen in the menu bar by using the “up” and “down” navigations keys. A sub-menu will appear next to the menu bar.

The screen is made up of these parameters: FARM – user assigned identification for the farm being harvested. 12 character limit.

FIELD – user assigned identification for the field being harvested. 12 character limit.

LOAD – user assigned identification for a sub identifier for a field. 12 character limit.

CROP – operator can change the crop type associated with the active load.

NOTE: Crop type can only be changed before harvesting into the active load.

In order to best organize your data, it is recommended that you name your farms and fields prior to harvest and use a consistent naming convention.

Loads are a means of creating specific data sets within an associated farm and field. Naming these loads may be helpful if you are harvesting a series of test plots and choose to name each load as a separate hybrid.

Enter the sub-menu bar by pressing the “right” navigation key. The cursor will jump to the sub-menu that was last selected when escaping the sub-menu bar.

The selected sub-menu will blink and in the text bar a description of the selected sub-menu is shown. To select another sub-menu, use the “up” and “down” navigation keys. When the navigation keys are not used for approximately 8 seconds, the selected symbol will stop blinking and will be inverted until the navigation keys are used again.

NOTE: Upon system startup, harvest records may be present on two separate components, the Infoview flash or the PC data card. The PC card is the primary data medium. If a PC data card is not detected, the Infoview flash will allow creation and usage of a maximum of 10 Farms/Fields and a maximum of 16 Loads.

NOTE: While multiple Farms, Fields and Loads can be created and used without a PC card inserted, only the active Farm/Field/Load will be retained on a power cycle unless a PC card is inserted and allowed to merge before power down.

The Instantaneous Values screen allows for editing of the Active Farm, Field, or Load. The active name can be edited at any time. The farm, field, and load name edit function works in the same manner for all objects. From the HARVEST INFO>INSTANTANEOUS VALUES screen, use the “up” and “down” arrow keys on the keypad to navigate to the item to be edited.

Pressing the “enter” key brings up the edit function window, 1. Using the keypad, the name is edited, left justified and 12 characters maximum. Pressing the “enter” key, saves the edited name and returns to the previous screen. Pressing the ESC key aborts the edit process.

Any change of name will carry all harvest info saved data from the old name to the new name.

If no data card is inserted and the “enter” key is pressed without highlighting any farm/field/load/crop submenu item (as shown in previous figure), the “Job Delete SubMenu” will appear. Use this to delete a single job (farm) or all jobs (farms) from the MDM memory.

NOTE: When a data card IS installed, nothing will happen (no pop-up list appears) when the “enter” key is pressed.

Select or Create Farm, Field, or Load Name NOTE: During harvest, the select/create function for farm field, load and crop type is locked out, preventing the operator from attempting to change any of the active items on this screen.

The following describes the steps to select or create a farm. Steps to select or create a field or load are similar.

With a PC Card, there can be a maximum of 50 Farms with 50 Fields per Farm and 50 Loads per field.

Without a PC Card installed, the Infoview Flash is limited to a maximum of 16 Loads divided between any combination of 10 Farms and Fields.

Farm Name To change the active farm, from the HARVEST INFO>SELECT ACTIVE LOAD screen, highlight the farm selector window, 1, then press “enter.”

A drop down list will appear displaying the farm names arranged in order they were created. The first selection will always be “New…” (assuming the maximum number of Farms has not been reached). Using the “up” and “down” arrow keys, navigate to the desired farm.

Pressing the “enter” key selects the desired farm as the Active Farm and returns to the farm selector on the Select Active Load screen.

To create a new farm, highlight the “New…” then press “enter”. A pop-up window is displayed with the automated system generated farm name. Use the keypad to edit the name (12 characters maximum).

Pressing the “enter” key will save the name. Pressing ESC will abort the edit process and return to the Select Active Farm drop down list without creating a new farm.

The operator will not be allowed to create a new farm if the maximum number of farms is reached. The “New…” selection will not be displayed. To regain the ability to create new farms when the maximum number has been reached, the data must be archived to the desktop computer using the Precision Farming Software. After the card data is archived, the .cnh file on the card must be deleted using Windows Explorer.

NOTE: All data will be lost if the card is not archived before deleting the .cnh file.

To use previously created Farm and Field names after clearing a card, they will have to be exported from the desktop computer to the card. This is accomplished using the Device Setup Utility as described in the Precision Farming Software documentation.

If there is no PC card present and the operator attempts to create a new farm, field or load after the maximum number has been reached, the command will be ignored and a “Memory full – delete a farm or field” (or a “Memory full – delete a load”) pop-up will appear.

Crop Type The operator can select the crop type using the crop selector. To change the crop type, from the HARVEST INFO>SELECT ACTIVE LOAD screen, highlight the crop selector window, 1, then press “enter”.

A pop-up window will appear displaying the crop names.

Using the “up” and “down” arrow keys, navigate to the desired crop. Pressing the “enter” key selects the desired crop type to be associated with the Active Load and returns to the crop selector screen.

After harvest data has been collected for the load, the select crop type function will be locked out, preventing the operator from attempting to change the crop type associated with the active load.

MARKER SETUP This sub-menu is only available when a data card is installed.

When creating a yield map of the field being harvested, markers can be set to identify the places in the field with stones, lodged crop, etc.

Up to six different types of markers (e.g. weed, stones, other variety, etc.) can be used while creating a yield map. There are 12 total marker names available, any one of which can be assigned to the six marker numbers on the display.

The actual assignment is displayed next to each number. The assignment of markers to the numbers can be changed.

To change the assignment of markers to the numbers, proceed as follows: 1. Navigate to the HARVEST INFO>MARKER SETUP screen, then press the “right” navigation key.

2. Select the number to be changed using the “up” or “down” navigation keys.

3. Press “enter”

4. Pop-up screen, 1, appears showing the different markers available.

5. Select the desired type of marker with the “up” or “down” navigation key.

6. Press “enter” to assign the selected marker to the number.

To identify an area in the field with a marker, press the number assigned to that marker on the alphanumeric keypad. The number pressed is shown in the indicator bar near the “data card installed” symbol at 1.

NOTE: Pressing a number (1 to 6) to identify markers can be done when “Road Info”, “Main Info”, “Custom Info” or “Harvest Info” menu or sub-menu is selected. If another menu is selected by pressing a number, the “Main Info” menu will blinking.

Pushing again the number on the alphanumeric keypad will cause the marking to stop. The number shown in the indicator bar will disappear from the screen.

NOTE: It is possible to enter more than one number at the same time, if more than one marker needs to be set at the same time in the field during harvesting.

NOTE: If you want to set a marker during harvesting and you don’t remember the assignments, proceed as follows: 1. Select “Road Info”, “Main Info”, or “Custom Info” menu and press “enter”.

2. A pop-up screen will appear.

3. Select “Markers listing”, using navigation key and press “enter” or Press number “0” on the alphanumeric keypad when any menu is selected.

4. A pop-up screen will appear showing the six numbers with the different markers assigned.

If you will select more markers repeat this procedure.

The moisture sensor and the mass flow sensor must be calibrated based on actual known measurements. The moisture sensor calibration is always crop type specific.

The mass flow sensor calibration is global, across all crop types. It is also stored in each load.

The Calibration Screen allows the operator to: • Select a sensor type to calibrate, 2.

• Select a specific crop to calibrate, 3.

• Select a specific farm, field and load, 4.

• View the machine measured value of weight or moisture, 5, (depending on sensor type selected) for the selected data set.

Sensor Selection From the HARVEST INFO> CALIBRATION screen, select the Sensor Type, 1, and press “enter”. A pop-up list will appear.

Use the “up” and “down” arrow keys to navigate to the Flow or Moisture sensor to be calibrated. Press the “enter” key to select the sensor.

Select the desired dataset (crop type, farm, field and load) to be calibrated. This selection procedure operates the same as on the Select Active Load screen.

NOTE: The following describes the steps to setup and perform Crop Calibration. Steps to setup and perform the moisture sensor calibration are similar.

Crop Calibration Setup Measured load weight, 1, is labeled "value" at the bottom of the screen. The Actual load weight, 2, is labeled "new value". The Load Error (or percent difference), 3, between measured and actual values is labeled "deviation". Upon initial selection of a dataset, the Measured and Actual load weights are equal to each other and the Load Error is 0.0%.

The current, active load cannot be used as a cal load.

The operator receives a pop-up window, 1, informing of this conflict and no load is selected.

Also, the load to be calibrated must contain valid harvest data. If it does not, it will not be displayed on the load drop down list.

From the HARVEST INFO> CALIBRATION screen, select the Actual load weight via the navigation arrow keys; then press "enter". A pop-up window, 1, is displayed which allows the operator to input the actual load weight via the numeric keypad; then press "enter".

To reflect the difference between the two weights, the Load Error, 1, changes from 0.0% (assuming the difference is at least or greater than 0.1%). The "calibrate now" selection, 2, is now displayed below Load Error.

Perform Crop Calibration

NOTE: Calibration can only be performed with the feeder disengaged.

From the HARVEST INFO> CALIBRATION screen, select the "calibrate now", 2, and press "enter". This load is tagged as the "Calibration Load" ("calibration load" flag set) and locked to prevent the addition of any more measured weight. The â&#x20AC;&#x153;calibration loadâ&#x20AC;? flag will remain set for loads previously used for calibration and these loads will remain locked. However, only the load currently selected on this Calibration screen is used for the current calibration process.

A "Calibration successful" pop-up window, 1, is now displayed and the "calibrate now" selection is no longer present. Additionally, the measured value now reflects the actual value and the Load Error returns to 0.0%.

DATA LOGGER (IF INSTALLED) To keep all the field data it is necessary to insert a data card in the data logger.

To install a data card correct in the data logger, proceed as follows: 1. Install the data card with the New Holland logo on the top side and with the connection holes first into the data logger.

2. Push the data card into the logger until the button is extended out.

3. Close the data logger.

If icon 2 appears on the harvest screen means that the data card is present in the datalogger.

To check how many percent of the total memory capacity is still available on the data card, select menu “combine information” screen and sub-menu item “datalogger”, using the navigation keys.

When the data card reaches 5% remaining storage capacity, a Level 1 "Datacard Full” warning will be received with an audible alarm. It will clear itself automatically and reappear every four minutes. To regain card space, the data must be archived to the desktop computer using the Precision Farming Software.

After the card data is archived, the .cnh file on the card must be deleted using Windows Explorer.

NOTE: All data will be lost if the card is not archived before deleting the .cnh file.

To use previously created Farm and Field names after clearing a card, they will have to be exported from the desktop computer to the card. This is accomplished using the Device Setup Utility as described in the Precision Farming Software documentation.

When the data card reaches 3% remaining storage capacity, a Level 2, "Datacard Fullâ&#x20AC;? warning will be received with an audible alarm. It will stay on screen until acknowledged by the operator. While on screen, audible alarm will sound every 30 seconds. Once acknowledged, it reappears every 2 minutes. Data from the card should be archived and unwanted files removed to regain space as described in the previous paragraph.

When the data card reaches 1% remaining storage capacity, a Level 3, "Datacard Fullâ&#x20AC;? warning will be received with an audible alarm. It will stay on screen until acknowledged by the operator. While on screen, audible alarm will sound every 30 seconds. Once acknowledged, it reappears every 1 minutes. When the card becomes completely full, data logging will be disabled until data from the card is archived and unwanted files removed to regain space as described in the previous paragraph.

To remove the data card, proceed as follows: 1. Open the data card door and push on the button.

2. Remove the data card.

MPORTANT: Be careful with your data card, this card contain all the field information.

NOTE: Every time the combine ignition switch is placed in the ON position, a new [date stamp].log file is created. These log files can be copied or moved to a personal computer using a PCMCIA card slot.

Service Bulletin MACHINE: CR920, CR940, CR960, and CR970 Combines CX840, CX860, and CX880 Combines SUBJECT: Improved Transmission Gearshift Detection and Shifting 0805 - H6 DESCRIPTION OF CONCERN

Production: The new gearshift position sensor went into production with the following combine serial numbers:

Gearshift detection errors (E0171 or E0203) and/or shifting difficulties may occur. The following errors could occur:

Series CR Combines: HAJ101735 Series CX Combines: xx1416001

1. The display indicates that no gears are selected.

2. The display indicates that two gears are selected at the same time.

An additional inspection point has been introduced into production. It ensures that the tape that covers the gearshift motor housing drain holes is removed.

The tape must be removed to ensure that condensation does not accumulate inside the gearshift motor.

3. The transmission does not shift into the selected gear.

Shifting problems can be caused by a gearshift position sensor failure, or by incorrect gap adjustment between the sensor mounting surface and the target pin on the shifting disc, or by corrosion in the shift motor due to moisture invasion.

Service: When a failure of the gearshift detection sensor or the gearshift motor occurs on units prior to the effective serial numbers, make the following checks:

ACTION/CORRECTION The following steps have been taken:

1. Use the diagnostics to run the gearshift motor. A second person will be required at the gearshift motor to check motor function.

1. A new gearshift position sensor (part number 84457942) has been released. The transistor in the new sensor has a wider output voltage and a higher operating temperature range. The sensor also has improved wiring connections.

2. If the motor does not run, make a general check of the electrical system of the shift motor, including checks of the following: • • • •

2. The shimming procedure for the gearshift position sensor has been changed.

3. It was identified that the tape is not always removed from the shift motor drain holes. This prevents moisture from escaping.

The correct billhook (part number 9838789), 2, has a roller diameter of 18 mm (0.709 inches). It applies to all New Holland double-knotter balers presently and formerly in production.

The diameter of the roller affects the billhook opening, which has a direct effect on tying performance.

Service Bulletin MACHINE: TL70, TL80, TL90 and TL100 Tractors SUBJECT: New Transmission Software, Version 4.03 0805 - T8 DESCRIPTION OF CONCERN New transmission software, Version 4.03, has been released specifically to deal with service concerns. It is included in Electronic Service Tool (EST) Software Version 4.1.0.0.

ACTION/CORRECTION Transmission software version 4.03 can be downloaded into applicable tractors by using the EST. The EST must be loaded with EST software version 4.1.0.0 or newer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Transmission software version 4.03 must only be downloaded into tractors with serial numbers 001255651 and later which have a Power Shuttle Control Module (part number 47130891) with software version 4.01 or 4.02 installed. This new software cannot be downloaded into tractors with serial numbers prior to 001255651. These prior Power Shuttle transmissions operate with Control Module part number 47130890 which contain software version 3.02.

The EST laptop must be used with the diagnostic and download cable part (number 380001452).

Prior to installing the new software, record the current software revision. The current software version can be obtained by accessing the H4 Menu. See the TL Service Manual, Section 21 (Part Number 87043519), 2/04, Chapter 6, Page 83.

After installing the new transmission software, Version 4.03, the following diagnostic checks should be made and the transmission clutch packs must be calibrated.

1. First, check the clutch pedal potentiometer for correct calibration by using the HA Diagnostic Menu.

Reference the TL Service Manual, Section 21 (Part Number 87043519), 2/04, Chapter 6, Page 96. If the clutch pedal potentiometer is out of specification (not displaying 0% when the clutch pedal is pressed and 99 or 100% when the clutch pedal is released) then it must be calibrated. The calibration procedure is found in the above-mentioned service manual section, Page 97.

2. Check the clutch pedal on/off switch adjustment setting in the HA Menu. Reference the TL Service Manual, Section 21 (Part Number 87043519), 2/04, Chapter 6, Page 96. If the clutch pedal switch is out of specification, then it must be adjusted by loosening the switch mounting screws and repositioned it in the slotted holes.

3. Calibrate the A, B, C, and D clutches in the H1 Menu. Reference the TL Service Manual, Section 21 (Part Number 87043519), 2/04, Chapter 6, Pages 77 to 79.

During all transmission calibrations of this type, ensure that the transmission oil temperature is between 40° and 60° C (104° and 140° F) for optimum shifting results.

2. Measure 60 mm (2 3/8 inches) toward the fuel tank from the mark made in Step 1 and make a second mark.

3. Remove the section of hose between the marks made in Steps 1 and 2.

Production: There have been several stages of software and hardware changes.

Transmission overspeed failures of the mid-range or reverse clutch can result from towing of heavy loads, such as tankers, when descending hills.

At tractor serial number JAW135131, transmission overspeed detection features were added to the software of the earlier ICU (ICU-1) (version 2.6.0.0) and the transmission controller (version 1.11.0.0) which give the operator a display warning and an audible warning to slow down. Depending upon tire size, the overspeed warning occurs at 40 to 45 km/h (25 to 28 mph).

ACTION/CORRECTION Transmission and Instrument Cluster Unit (ICU) software was developed to alert the operator of an overspeed condition. Refer to the ”ADDITIONAL INFORMATION” section of this bulletin for complete details.

At tractor serial number JAW137300, the ICU display module, 1, was replaced with the later version ICU (ICU-2) display module, 2. The ICU2 display module has different software installed (version 1.0.0.0). The transmission controller software remains the same (version 1.11.0.0). Like the previous version 2.6.0.0, this software also provides the operator with a transmission overspeed display warning and an audible warning to slow down.

1. Do not exceed the maximum recommended ballasted weight. Follow the ballast recommendations in the Operator’s Manual.

2. BEFORE going on the road, make certain that the brake pedals are locked together for equalized braking.

Service: For tractors with serial numbers JAW137299 and prior which are equipped with ICU-1 instrumentation but do not have overspeed warning software, download transmission controller software version 1.11.0.0 or later and ICU software version 2.6.0.0 or later.

3. Avoid continuous operation with the engine “lugged” down to 1600 rpm or less. Select a transmission gear appropriate for the load.

4. DO NOT depress the inching pedal while driving downhill.

5. Maximum towing speeds and loads WITHOUT implement brakes are as follows:

Tractors with serial numbers JAW137300 and later, which are equipped with ICU-2 instrumentation, already have software installed (Version 1.0.0.0 or later) with an overspeed alarm function.
