Raising Machine for Drive System Troubleshooting

Warning

Use extreme caution when raising the machine for drive system troubleshooting. Never allow anyone under a raised machine. Lowering the lift arm or a falling machine can result in death or serious personal injury.

STEP 1

Park the machine where it can be lifted with the appropriate equipment. Make sure the lifting equipment is in good working order and is of sufficient capacity.

Warning

Do not lift machine without the proper equipment. For machine weights, see “Weights and Capacities” on page14.

STEP 2

Perform the shutdown procedure according to “Mandatory Safety Shutdown Procedure” on page 4.

STEP 3

Close the engine cover.

If the machine is equipped with a cab, close the cab doors.

Caution

To prevent injury and equipment damage, always close and lock the cab doors (if applicable) and close the engine cover before lifting the machine.

Jack up the front wheels of the machine below the center (differential) of the front axle. Position two jackstands under both sides of the front frame behind the front wheels as shown and carefully lower the machine onto jackstands (1)
