Oil dipstick – Marking Preconditions ☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

Hot oil. Oil can contain combustion residues which are harmful to health. Risk of injury and poisoning! • Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles / safety mask. • Avoid contact with skin. • Do not inhale oil vapor. In the case of new engines and spare parts, oil dipsticks are delivered without marks.
Oil dipstick — Marking Extract or drain off all oil from oil pan. Pull out oil dipstick. Fill in minimum oil quantity. Insert oil dipstick and pull out again. Mark a "Min." notch on the oil dipstick. Max. notch depth 1 mm. Shorten oil dipstick. Fill in maximum oil quantity. Insert oil dipstick and pull out again. Mark a "Max." notch on the oil dipstick. Max. notch depth 1 mm.
