PUTTING THE VEHICLE ON THE STAND

SIDE STAND

To put the vehicle on the side stand while seated astride the vehicle, see page 44 (GETTING ON AND OFF THE VEHICLE). If you have folded up the stand (say, to wheel the vehicle forward or backward), put the vehicle back on the stand as follows:

WARNING

Make sure the ground is firm and level and free from obstacles.

u Select an appropriate location for parking, see page 54 (PARKING). u Grasp the left grip (1) and place your right hand on the rear upper part of the vehicle (2). u Push on the side stand with your right foot and lower it completely (3). u Lean the vehicle to the side until the stand is resting on the ground. u Rotate the handlebar fully to the left.

Make sure that the vehicle is stable. 1 5

CENTRE STAND

WARNING

It is forbidden to position the vehicle on the centre stand when sitting astride the vehicle.

WARNING

Make sure the ground is firm and level and free from obstacles.

u Select an appropriate location for parking, see page 54 (PARKING). u Grab the left handgrip (1) and handle (4).

CAUTION

For your safety, the side stand down condition is indicated to avoid vehicle tipping over.

NOTE Do not rest the side stand to ground. Keep the vehicle upright. u Push down the side stand (5) with your right foot and extend it completely. u Push onto centre stand lever (6) (Pos.

A) and rest it onto the ground.

CAUTION

Proceed with care. The positioning of the vehicle on the centre stand may be difficult, since the vehicle is very heavy. Release the handgrip (1) and handle (4) only when the vehicle is steady on the stand.

u Load your weight onto the centre stand lever (6) (Pos. B) and move your centre of gravity to the back of the vehicle (Pos.C).

WARNING

Make sure that the vehicle is stable.

u Fold up the side stand.
