Safety General

The boom and gantry are not intended to be ladders. Do not attempt to climb the lattice work of boom or gantry to access the lights. If the boom or gantry is not equipped with an approved ladder, lower it before adjusting or repairing lights.

To prevent accidents that can result in injury or death during adjustment procedures, refer to the Safety Information section in the Operator Manual for further general safety information.

3.0 3.1

Operation Load Center

3.1.1 General The load center is located on the left front side of the rotating bed. The lights on the lift solution package are controlled by circuit breakers located inside the load center. The 240V 60HZ single-phase power is supplied to the load center from the lift solution generator located on the left rear side of the rotating bed or from an external power source.

3.1.2 Component Identification See Figure 1 for load center components.

3.1.3 Operating the Lights See Figure 1 for the following procedure:

WARNING Electrocution Hazard!

Severe electric shock can cause death or serious injury.

The crane owner/user must make provisions for turning off the electrical power supply before connecting a power supply cable to the crane.

Make sure the power supply cable (1) is connected to the load center (2).

2.

Turn on the power supply.

3.

Turn on the main circuit breaker (50A) (3).

4.

Turn on the desired circuit breaker.

3.2

Generator

3.2.1 General The 7.5 KW 120/240V 60HZ single-phase generator is mounted on the left rear side of the rotating bed and is diesel powered. It is used to power up optional kits installed on the crane. It can come equipped with an optional remote start.

3.2.2 Component Identification See Figures 2 and 3 for generator components.

3.2.3 Operation Before operating the generator, check fluids for proper level.

For generator operation instructions, see the generator owner’s manual.

Lighting

4.1

Boom Lights

4.1.1 General The crane boom is equipped with three 450W wide-angle LED spot lights and four 450W medium-angle LED flood lights. The boom lights have a full 360° rotational range of operation, lockable in 10° increments. The boom light assemblies are self leveling.

4.1.2 Component Identification See Figure 4 for boom light components.

4.1.3 Application The boom lights are used for illuminating the working area. The boom lights are operational when the load center is energized and the appropriate circuit breaker is turned on.

See Figure 1 for circuit breaker identification.

4.1.4 Adjustments 4.1.4.1 Boom Light Bracket Position Adjustment See Figure 5 for the following procedures: NOTE: The boom light bracket (1) must be parallel to the boom centerline (2) of the boom for the self-leveling feature to operate properly.

Loosen the nuts (4) holding the boom light assembly (5) to the lattice (6) of the boom (3).

2.

Align the boom light bracket parallel to the boom centerline.

3.

Tighten the nuts.

NOTE: Make sure the boom light (7) swings freely.

4.1.4.2 Boom Light Angle Adjustment See Figure 5 for the following procedures: The boom light (7) can be aimed in a straight down self-leveling position (8) or a manually adjusted position (9).

This angle will remain constant at all boom angles.The manual adjustment angle of the boom lights must be determined prior to raising the boom off the ground. Once the appropriate boom light angle has been determined: 1.

Loosen the adjustment bolts (10) holding the boom light in position.

2.

Rotate the boom light to the desired position and re-tighten the adjustment bolts.

NOTE: Do not attempt to adjust the boom lights with the boom in the working position. If the lights need readjusting, lower the boom to the ground and turn the crane off. Follow all boom raising and lowering procedures in the Operator Manual.

Elevated Cab and Rotating Bed Light

4.2.1 General The rotating bed and elevated cab are equipped with four 450W wide-angle LED flood lights. The rotating bed and elevated cab lights have a full 360° rotational range of operation and are lockable in 10° increments.

4.2.2 Component Identification See Figure 8 for elevated cab and rotating bed light components.

4.2.3 Application The elevated cab and rotating bed lights are used for illuminating the working area around the cab. The elevated cab and rotating bed lights are operational when the load center is energized and the appropriate circuit breaker is turned on.

See Figure 1 for circuit breaker identification.

4.2.4 Adjusting the Elevated Cab and Rotating Bed Light Angle See Figure 7 for the following procedure: The elevated cab and rotating bed lights can be adjusted to reflect farther as needed.

1.

Loosen the adjustment bolts (1) on the light assembly bracket (2).

2.

Rotate the 450W wide-angle flood light to the desired position and re-tighten the adjustment bolts.

Gantry Light

4.3.1 General The gantry is equipped with two 450W wide-angle LED flood lights. The gantry lights have a full 360° rotational range of operation and are lockable in 10° increments.

4.3.2 Component Identification See Figure 11 for gantry light components.

4.3.3 Application The gantry lights are used for illuminating the working area around the gantry and the back of the crane. The gantry lights are operational when the load center is energized and the appropriate circuit breaker is activated.

See Figure 1 for circuit breaker identification.

4.3.4 Adjusting the Gantry Light Angle See Figure 10 for the following procedure: The gantry lights can be manually adjusted to a desired angle as needed. Once the appropriate angle has been determined: 1.

Loosen the adjustment bolts (1) on the light assembly bracket (2).

2.

Rotate the 450W wide-angle LED flood light (3) to the desired position and re-tighten the adjustment bolts.
