Installation and removal of attachment parts
Fig. 3-79 Connecting LIKUFIX
In addition, note the following:
Before installation, remove the protective covers on the quick change adapter 1 and the working tool 2.
Always keep hydraulic couplings 3 and 4 clean.
Perform a visual check for cleanliness before installation. If necessary, clean all coupling parts and the sealing surfaces with a clean, oil-soaked cloth.
When changing a work tool, connect or disconnect the hydraulic coupling slowly. When attaching the quick change adapter, tilt it until the coupling plates are connected due to the curb weight of the working tool.
Extend the locking pins.
If the plates do not connect as a result of curb weight, foreign objects (such as stones) may be the cause. In this case, clean all coupling parts to prevent damage when connecting.
The oil flow and pressure must be matched to the corresponding work tool. When the work is completed, and particularly before transport, reattach the protective covers 1 and 2
3.5.7.3Installing LIKUFIX work tools to a quick change adapter without LIKUFIX
It is possible at any time to attach a working tool with a LIKUFIX hydraulic coupling to a machine with a quick change adapter (mechanical or hydraulic).
Caution!
The LIKUFIX hydraulic coupling could be damaged. Do not use a quick change adapter with a reinforcement kit, since the reinforced steel part 6 could damage the LIKUFIX hydraulic coupling on the work tool. In this case, the quick-change adapter must be modified by LIEBHERR Service.
For installation without LIKUFIX hydraulic coupling, LIEBHERR work tools usually have an alternative connection option.
Example:
On the ditch cleaning bucket, the hydraulic lines are either connected using LIKUFIX 4 or using an auxiliary hydraulic connection 5
3.6General working methods
3.6.1Guidelines for minimum impact working methods
To increase the service life of the machine and avoid unnecessary damage and resulting repairs, please observe the following points:
–Do not stop the slewing motion of the superstructure when swinging into a ditch by stopping the attachment against the walls of the ditch.
–Avoid using the machine for applications where the attachment is knocked against the material to be removed, even lengthwise. Repeatedly hitting the work equipment against rocks or other hard material will lead to damage to the steel parts and machine components.
–In specific combinations of boom, stick and work tool, the work tool can hit or penetrate the cab. This could damage the cab and injure the machine operator.
–Do not attach buckets that are too big or side cutters when using the machine on rocky material. This will extend the work cycles and could result in damage to the bucket as well as other machine components.
–Please contact your authorized LIEBHERR dealer if special teeth for heavy or special applications are required.
–Operating the swing bearings to drill into material is not permitted.
–Do not lift up the machine when working. If this should occur, slowly lower the machine to the ground. Do not permit the machine to drop to the ground quickly and do not catch the downward movement with the hydraulics, since this could result in damage to the machine.
3.6.2Preparatory activities
Danger!
Risk of fatal injury and damage to the machine when working.
Observe the safety information "Notes for safe working" at the beginning of these operating instructions.
