Working with the machine

Caution!

The sensor controlled low idle automatic must be turned off when starting up the Diesel engine. The indicator light in the switch may not light up.

3.4.3Operating the swing gear

Caution!

The machine is delivered in series with PCSA controls

On request, the machine can be equipped with a control system that deviates from the PCSA controls (e.g. LIEBHERR control). In this case, observe the additional operating instructions for this control.

The joystick functions described here refer exclusively to PCSA

3.4.3.1Turning the uppercarriage

The uppercarriage is turned with the left joystick.

Controls

Turning the uppercarriage

Deflect the joystick to the left c The uppercarriage turns to the left. Deflect the joystick to the right d The uppercarriage turns to the right.

3.4.3.2Slowing the uppercarriage down

The machine is equipped with a hydraulic and a mechanical swing gear brake.

Hydraulic swing gear brake

Move the left joystick 4 to neutral. The uppercarriage will be adequately slowed down hydraulically. Move the left joystick 4 in the opposite direction. The uppercarriage will be hydraulically slowed down to the maximum degree.

Positioning swing brake (option)

The positioning swing brake is used for progressive and sensitive braking action of the uppercarriage.

Positioning swing brake

Note!

Increased wear.

Do not use the positioning swing brake purely as an operating brake, only as a retaining and parking brake for the swing gear.

We recommend to slow down the uppercarriage hydraulically (by counter rotating).

Actuate the pedal 10

The uppercarriage is located in the desired position after sensitive braking action.

3.4.4Fine control

Fine control is used to adapt the working speed for precision work.

Control in the left joystick:

The maximum pump flow can be limited with the selector R76 in the right control panel. The movements of the hydraulic excavator are slowed down according to the switch position.
