Preliminary Work for Installing the Attachments

CAUTION: Depending on how the tractor is equipped, it may be necessary to remove the fuel tank and/or the additional oil reservoir (C) to provide enough space for the hydraulic lines and valve. The technician performing the work has to decide whether or not it is possible to install the attachment without removing the components.

NOTE: Support the tractor safely and take off the rear wheels on left and right sides.

For additional information, see relevant Technical Manual.

Remove the fuel tank Disconnect all lines from the additional oil reservoir (C).12

For more information and details on how to remove and install the fuel tank, see Section 30 of the relevant Technical Manual.

Release tie strap (D) and remove the additional oil reservoir (C).

Take off the right access step and remove the additional oil reservoir Remove access step (A) and plastic cover (B).

Close off the hoses with a commercially available clamp, if necessary.

Mark the position of the hoses.

Replace the lift arms NOTE: The following work depends on the attachment to be installed.

Remove cotter pins and pins (A+B) on both sides.

Disengage lift links (C) and hydraulic cylinders.

On both sides, remove the screw (D) with washer.

Remove lift arms (E + F).

Install Lift Arms Put lift arms (A + B) onto the rockshaft and position them.

With pin (C), connect hydraulic cylinder (D) to the lift arms.

Install control cable on pick-up hitch IMPORTANT: Adjust the control cable until the bores of the cable yoke of the control cable and release lever are aligned.

NOTE: To adjust the control cable, see Section 280A of the relevant Diagnostic Technical Manual.

Engage control cable (A) in the trailer hitch release lever (D).

As shown, install the control cable (A) on counter-bearing (B), and secure it with hex. nuts (C).

In Reverse Order, Re-install All the Parts Removed from the Tractor

Check the line connections for leaks.

Install rear wheel and tighten wheel bolts to 500 N·m (370 lb.-ft.).

Install all components that were removed previously.

IMPORTANT: Once all the component assemblies have been installed, do an operational check.

CAUTION: During the operational check, make sure that everyone is clear of the operating range of the trailer hitch. Danger of AK53658,000020B injury!

Electro-Hydraulic Pick-Up Hitch (E-PUH) Operational Checks

CAUTION: Comply with safety instructions, see Pick-Up Hitch - General Safety and Repair Information in Section 80A of the Repair Manual.

This pick-up hitch can be operated via the rear hitch and switch (A).

1. Raise the draft links as high as they go and use switch (A) to retract the hitch hook fully (press the top part of the switch).

2. Pull release lever (B) and hold it until the hitch hook has moved from the stored position (lever remains in open position).

3. Use switch (A) to extend the hitch hook fully (press the bottom part of the switch).

4. Lower draft links/hitch to desired height under the towing eye of the trailer.

5. Raise the draft links so that the hitch hook engages in the towing eye of the implement; then fully raise the pick-up hitch.

6. Use switch (A) to retract the hitch hook fully until it is fully locked (lever (B) returns to its starting position).

9. If the hitch is not operating properly, check the following settings, and change them if necessary; see references below:

• Adjusting the Lift Links • Adjusting the Guide Stop • Adjusting the Locking Pin A—Switch B—Release Lever

8. Check that the hitch is locked correctly. If this is the case, it will not lower when the draft links are lowered and not extend when the switch is operated.
