Basic Operations

WARNING

Electricity is dangerous; please ensure that the system has been professionally installed by suitably qualified personnel. Before operating the generating set especially before first operation please check fuel, engine oil and engine coolant are at recommended levels.

Manual Mode

Manual starting of the generating set is achieved through the ‘top level’ JCB Digital Control Panel screen.

To switch the system to manual mode press ‘MAN’ Mode soft key while in the top level screen, generating set starting is then achieved through pressing the ‘Crank’ operation key

Manual Start

Once pressed the crank symbol will flash (1) and the message ‘Start’ will appear on the JCB Digital Control Panel screen to indicate starting. When the engine has started and is running the arrow within the crank symbol will rotate. If the engine does not start after three attempts then Panel goes to alarm mode ‘engine fail to start. (see possible alarms)

Manual stopping of the generating set can be achieved using a number of methods.

Pressing the STOP soft key once from any menu screen will command the generating set to enter a ‘cool down’ period after which it will shut off. This method of stopping is recommended during normal usage.

Normal Stopping

Pressing the STOP soft key twice in succession (while in any menu screen) shall cause the generating set to shut down immediately. This method of stopping can also be achieved by pressing the ‘Crank’ soft key while in the ‘top level’ screen.
