CHAPTER 3. ATTACHING AND DETACHING MOWER DECK

WARNING: When attaching or detaching the mower deck to the zero turn mower:

• Place the zero turn mower on level, hard ground.

• Apply the parking brake securely.

• Turn the PTO switch to the OFF ( ) position.

• Do not start the engine except for operating the lift.

1. ATTACHING THE MOWER DECK

a. Start the engine and slightly drive the mower backwards. Make sure that the front wheel casters,3, are in the reverse direction. Step on the brake pedal,9, and lock the parking lever,10.

b. Shift the lift lever,1, to up position ( ) to raise the lift link,2, to highest level. Then stop the engine.

c. Set the height adjust dial,7, to the minimum trimming position (25 mm). d. Align the mower deck,4, to along side with the Zero turn mower. Turn its rear gauge wheels,5, by 90 degrees. e. Set the front gauge wheels,6, to the minimum trimming height. f. Slide the mower deck,4, under the mower and position the deck to be at the center of the mower. g. Shift the lift lever,1, to down position ( ) and connect the link pins,8, located at both the left/right and front/ rear positions. h. Attach the drive shaft,11, to the PTO shaft. i. Start the engine and lift the mower deck,4, to the maximum level. j. Turn the rear gauge wheels,5, by 90 degrees to return it to its normal operating orientation. Set the rear gauge wheels to the minimum trimming height.

IMPORTANT:

• To attach and detach the mower, set the height adjust dial to the minimum trimming position (25 mm).

• When attaching/detaching the mower deck to and from the Zero turn mower unit, please make sure that the upper end of the adjust shaft,12, of the rear gauge wheels does contact the transmission unit of the Zero turn mower.

• When installing the drive shaft,11, check if the retaining lock is set properly or not.

2. DETACHING THE MOWER DECK

Detach the mower deck in reverse order of attaching: Remove the drive shaft first and then the mower deck.

CAUTION: Be sure to disconnect the universal joint on the PTO shaft of the zero turn mower.

IMPOTRTANT: Be sure to keep the removed parts.
