General Precautions As a manufacturer of agricultural equipment, ISEKI strives to design and deliver the safest equipment possible. Once a machine has been delivered to a user, however, it is the operator of the machine who must assume the responsibility of avoiding accidents. Understand thoroughly the following precautions, always keep them in mind before, during, and after operation, and never take chances. It has been said that the best safety device is a careful operator. We ask you to be a careful, safe operator.

1. How to be a safe operator I) Familiarize yourselffully with

the machine controls by studying the operator's manual before using your rnachine. 2) Never allow persons listed

below to operate the machine. a. Persons with mental disease

b. Persons who cannot operate the machine properly because of fatigue, illness, or drowsiness from medication, etc. c. Pregnant women d. Young persons or children too young to legally operate the machine. 3) Always be careful of your

health by taking suitable rest breaks.

4) Wear appropriate clothing and other protective devices during operation. a. Protection of your head Wear protective headgear such as a helmet, especially when traveling on roads or handling material above your head. b. Protection to avoid being caught in the machine. Wear tight-fitting clothing and headgear, because loose clothing or hair can get caught in the moving parts of the machine. c. Protection from poisonous dust or gases Be sure to wear a protective device to protect the respiratory system, eyes and skin when handling poisonous chemicals. d. Protection of the ears Wear ear plugs or take suitable countermeasures to protect your ears when you must operate the machine under extremely noisy conditions. e. Maintenance of protective devices Periodically inspect protective devices to assure that they are functioning proper!y. Use them at all times.

If you have to work under a heavy implement raised by the hydraulic power lift, be sure to lock the lift and use other protective means to support the implement. 5) When servicing the machine with the engine off, remove the key or take other preventive measures so that the engine will not start accidentally.
