Inspectionbefore everyday operation
Inspection points
To minimize breakdown of yourtractor, itis indispensableto service your machine everyday in accordance with the inspection points listedon the periodical inspection table onpage27.
Inspection method
Drawthedipstickandwipe itstipclean. Insert anddrawit againtoseethattheoillevel is between theupperand lower limits.Ifthelevelis lowerthanspecified, replenish withthesamekind of oilas theonealreadyintheengine.
Upper limil
Lower limit o Transmission oil
Note: Theoillevelshouldnotexceedtheupperlimit.
Upper limit
Removethe radiator capand check toseethatthe coolant levelisatthe filler's throat. If thelevelis lower thanspecified'fillwithfresh water upto the specified level.Green coolant showsthatit contains anti-freeze.
Level gauge o Power-assisted steering oil
The transmission oillevelis checked withthedipstick providedbehind the cylinder case.Drawthestickandwipe itstipclean.Insertanddrawit againtoseethatthelevelis between theupperand lower limits. If thelevelis lower thanspecified, replenish with thesamekindofoilastheone alreadyinthe transmission.
Note: Theoillevel should notexceedtheupperlimit.Excessivelevelwillcausesoilleaks.
Lower iimi! gauge) o Fuel
Checktheoillevelwiththe dipstickontheoilreservoir. Drawthestickandwipeitstip clean. Insert anddrawitagain to seethatthelevelisbetween theupperand lower limits. If thelevelis lower thanspecified, replenish withthesame kind of oilasthat already in thereservoir.
Fuel lank
Keepin mind that everyday operation should be started withafullfueltank. Turn the main switch keytotheON position to check thefuel level. If necessary, replenish fuel through thefuelfiller located inthe back of the operator's seat.
o Tire inflation, damage,and wear
Tire inflation greatly affects the tractor performance and tire service life. Check each tirefor inflation referring to the specified values mentioned onthe periodical inspection tableandfor wear and damage atthe same time.
o Wheel clamping boltsand nuts
Check toseethat each fastener is tightened securely.
(Refer to page 21.)
o Steering system
Check tosee that the steering system hasno excessive play or looseness. The free play of the steering wheelis about 30 mmonthe circumference. (The steering wheel is intentionally allowed some specific free play upand down, and right and leftto absorb vibration.)
o Brakes
Check toseethatboth brakes work simultaneously. The standard freeplayofthe brake pedal is30to40mm.
o Clutch
Check toseethatthe clutch disengages completely when thepedalis depressed. The standard freeplayofthe pedal is20to30mm.
Note:
Lack of free play inthe clutch pedal willcauseclutchslipping and shorter clutch service life. This naturally leadsto poor tractor performance.Excessive pedal play, however, will prevent clutch disengagement, whichisvery dangerous. Proper free play therefore should always be maintained.
o Electricparts
Ensure that every electrical part like meters, turn signals, horn, lamps, etc.are normal.
