INTRODUCTION This Operator's Manual is intended to provide necessary information for operating and maintaining your tractor. Its primary purpose is to offer you guidance in the lubrication and adjustment of your tractor during daily and seasonal operation. We especially wish to call

your attention to the many safety advisories listed in this manual. Although your tractor is designed with safety of operation in mind the risk of accidents cannot be completely eliminated unless you understand and practice all safety precautions.

Timely service saves costly repairs and valuable time lost because of breakdowns. When it becomes necessary to make repairs or replacements to your tractor, be sure to insist on genuine ISEKI parts. These parts are designed specifically for your tractor under controlled specifications, to provide satisfaction and the long lasting service to which you are entitled. Your dealer can supply you with the parts you require. Use of other than genuine ISEKI parts may jeopardize our normal warranty, For additional information consult your dealer.

By the way, we want you to understand that the contents of this manual may be somewhat different from the standards pertaining to the machine that you actually own. 6. PROHIBITING OTHER PERSONS FROM GETTING ON THE MACHINE

When departing the machine to take a rest or for other reasons, park the machine on level ground, lower the lmpiement to the ground, and apply the parking brake securely.

When you have to operate the machine at nignt, provide adequate illumination. i. When operating the machine with an implement that has cutters or sharp projections, take precautions to prevent accidents.

(6) Follow the instructions given below plus those instructions given in paragraph (5) while traveling on roads. a. Operate the machine safely in accordance with the traffic laws. b. Take care not to interfere with other traffic. c. Dismount an implement with cutters or sharp projections.

1. BRAKE PEDAL

The right and left brakes can be operated separately with different pedals. But be sure to interlock the pedals with the lock plate when the tractor tavels on roads.

6. THROTTLE PEDAL

The engine speed can also be controlled with the throttle pedal, which is convenient when driving the tractor on roads.

As the lever and pedal are linked to each other, either control can be used based upon operational requirements.

With the pedal depressed, the differential gears of the rear axle are locked and the rear wheels turn at the same speed.

The position control lever has another adjustable stop at the rear of its range.

The stop must be adjusted down the point where the relief valve is not open. If a squealing sound is heard when the lever is against the stop, readjust the position of the stop until the squealing sound disappears.

12. LIFT LOWERING SPEED CON· TROL KNOB (SLOW RETURN KNOB)

With this knob, the lowering speed of the lift can be controlled. The proper speed can be selected in accordance with the implement to be used. The lowering speed becomes faster as the knob is turned counterclockwise; the speed becomes slower as the knob is turned clockwise. The lift is locked when the knob is screwed in tlphtlv and will not lower by pushing down the lift control lever.

14. DRAFT CONTROL LEVER (OPTIONAL)

The draft control lever adjusts the sensitivity of the 3-point hitch to changes in draft load on the top link. The draft control system, when activated by the draft load applied on the top link, raises the implement slightly to transfer the load applied to the rear axle, thus improving the traction of the tractor.

Moving the lever rearward raises the implement. To determine the setting of the draft control, operate the tractor at a normal speed and adjust the working depth of the implement with the position

An adjustment of the sensitivity may be required whenever there is a change of implements or soil conditions.

Engine performance is affected greatly by the quality of fuel being used. Consequently, you should always use diesel fuel of good quality.

Use diesei light oil of JIS No.2 (JIS No, 3 when the weather is extremely cold) or other diesel fuel almost equivalent to those specified.

the injection pump and drain the old oil.

Supply the same oil that is used for the engine through the fiiler (140 cc).

4. INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT OF THE FRONT AXLE OIL (4WD) (1) Inspection Remove the filler plug on the left side axle housing and check to see if the axle shaft is barely submerged in the oil. If the axle shaft appears above the oil level. replenish with the same gear oil to maintain the proper level.

Note: When refilling the fuel, always use a filter to remove harmful foreign particles or dust.

If air is taken into the fuel system, it will cause insufficient output or difficulties in starting. Consequently, when the fuel tank is emptied completely or the fuel filter is cleaned, perform the air bleeding operation to be described later.

Note:

The battery is a vitally important part of the tractor for supplying electricity to the electricalsystem, besides cranking the engine.

Consequently, sufficient maintenance of the battery is essential for proper operation of the tractor.

Too Iowan electrolyte level will deteriorate the battery. Conversely, too high a level will make the electrolyte leak and result in

corrosion of the other parts. The level should always be maintained at the proper level.

The specific gravitv of the completely charged electrolyte is about 1.26 at 20°C. (6S°Fj, When the level is lowered by leaks, refill with diluted sulfide acid.

The battery must be connected correctly; that is, the positive post to the positve battery cord and the negative post to the negative cord. Mls-connection of the battery will damage the electric system and the battery.

When disconnecting the battery, remove the negative cord first and then the positive cord. When connecting it, connect the positive post first and then the negative ( post. If this is not done, there is a danger of causing shaft circuits by unexpected contact with a tool or other implement.

Note:

- Insufficient tightness of the radiator cap will cause leaks or eva· poretion of the coolant and result in rapid decrease in the coolant level.

Be sure to wait until the coolant cools down after a long period of continuous; heavy load operation and then remove the radiator cap.

If this is not done, hot water from the radiator may cause serious injuries.

9. GREASING The following lubrication points should be greased periodically in accordance with the periodic service table. They should also be greased after operation every time the tractor is used in an innundated field.
