Cause
Replacement
Flattening (1)
Crushes areas, mostly with wire breakage.
Mechanical damage, e.g. due to driving over the rope.
Determine number of broken wires; replace hoist rope immediately if serious crushing occurs.
Crinkling
Crinkle type rope deformation.
Loaded hoist rope was pulled over an edge.
Replace hoist rope immediately.
Kink (2)
Rope deformation with twisting and broken wires.
Rope was pulled straight while twisted and located in eyes.
Replace hoist rope immediately.
Buckle (3)
Buckled section in rope.
Mechanical damage.
Replace hoist rope immediately.
