Slinging points for the 12.5 m (41 ft) section alone

• Sling the 12.5 m (41 ft) section alone onto the two slinging points (4) and (5) so that it is in the centre of gravity.

• Guide the sling rope from outside around the struts onto the slinging points to prevent tipping to the side.

• Sling the folded 22 m (72 ft) two-stage swing-away lattice extension only onto the two slinging points (3) and (5) so that it is in the centre of gravity.

• Guide the rope at point (5) from inside and at point (3) from outside around the strut of the 12.5 m (41 ft) section onto the slinging points to prevent tipping to the side.

3.5.1 Overview of the required rigging work

There are different initial states for rigging the lattice extension, depending on whether

3.5.2 CHECK LIST: Installing two-stage swing-away lattice extension

Requirements:

–The truck crane is supported or the main boom is placed on the boom support.

–An auxiliary crane must be ready.

1. Install and connect hose drum for hydraulic supply (if applicable); à Installing hose drum, p.3-39.

2. Check the transport condition of the two-stage swing-away lattice extension; à Transport condition with removed lattice extension, p.3-37.

3. Sling two-stage swing-away lattice extension on auxiliary crane; à Slinging points, p.3-9.

4. Lift two-stage swing-away lattice extension with auxiliary crane in front of the main boom and create a swinging connection between the 12.5m (41 ft) section and the main boom; à Connections on main boom head, p.3-48.

7. If the lattice extension needs to be folded at the side of the main boom, move run-up rail into Unrigging position; à Run-up rail, p.3-63.

9. If the lattice extension needs to be rigged in front of the main boom, attach guide ropes to the head of the 12.5 m (41 ft) section.
