Lowering
• Insert the locking pin for the 12.5 m (41 ft) section in position Released; à p.3-58.
• Lower the lattice extension until the retaining mandrel (2) is fully out of the holder (1) on the main boom.
Raising
• Raise the lattice extension until the retaining mandrel (2) is fully in the holder (1) on the main boom.
• Insert the locking pin for the 12.5 m (41 ft) section in position Secured ; à p.3-58.
3.6.8 Swinging the lattice extension when rigging
H
This section describes the swinging of the lattice extension during rigging. If you want to swing the lattice extension for unrigging, then proceed in the opposite order.
When rigging the 13 m (43 ft) swing-away lattice extension, you must swing the 12.5 m (41 ft) section in front of the main boom head.

Swinging 12.5 m (41 ft) section in front of the main boom head
When rigging the 22 m (72 ft) two-stage swing-away lattice extension, you must also swing the 9 m (30 ft) section in front of the 12.5 m (41 ft) section.
You can make it easier to swing the lattice extension by lowering the lattice extension a little for swinging out and raising it a little for swinging in. When swinging always hold the lattice extension with a guide rope so that it can not swing around of its own accord.
• Secure the lattice extension with a guide rope on the head of the 12.5 m (41 ft) section; à Securing lattice extension with cord, p.3-59.
• Disconnect the connection between the 9 m (30 ft) section and the main boom or between the 12.5 m (41 ft) section and the main boom. s G
Risk of accidents from lattice extension swinging of its own accord Always secure the lattice extension with a guide rope before you swing it from the run-up rail or lower it for swinging. Make sure that there are no people or objects in the slewing range of the lattice extension and always swing out the lattice extension with a guide rope from the ground.
