GENERAL SAFETY RULES MACHINES SUBMITTED Powered with : Electric, Pneumatic, Petrol or Diesel engine.

SYMBOLS The words WARNING and CAUTION used in safety instructions, have the following meanings : •

WARNING indicates hazards or hazardous procedures which could result in serious injury or death , if the WARNING is not observed.

•

CAUTION indicates hazards or hazardous procedures which could result in injury or damage to equipment if the WARNING is not observed.

IMPORTANT RULES FOR YOUR SAFETY WARNING The machine must not be modified without prior consent of the manufacturer. Use only original parts. If modifications are made without prior consent of the manufacturer there is a risk of serious injury to the personal.

•

These safety recommendations have been compiled from international safety standards.

•

Local regulations must also be checked and observed. Before using the machine, read carefully these instructions and keep them in a safe place.

•

Make sure that the signs about using, safety, and maintenance are always legible.

•

The use of the machine is restricted to the applications specified in the product literature.

•

Always change damaged parts immediately. Change wear parts in due time.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT WARNING The admissible sound level of 85 dB (A), can be exceeded because of the machine and/or the application. Long time exposure to loud noise without ear protectors can cause permanent damage to hearing.

Long time exposure to vibrations can damage the hands, fingers and wrists. Do not use the machine if you are experiencing discomfort, cramp or pain. Consult a doctor before working again with the machine.

Always use approved safety equipment. The following safety equipment applies to operators and other personnel in the immediate vicinity of the working zone.

Safety helmet.

•

Ear protectors.

•

Dust mask in dusty environments.

•

Protective gloves.

•

Protective shoes.

• Goggles.

To avoid the risk of clothes being caught in the machine, avoid wearing loose-lifting clothes. If you have long hair, cover it with a hair net.

WORKING AREA WARNING Do not use the machine in explosive environments.

Do not operate a machine powered by a petrol or diesel engine in poorly ventilated spaces. These types of engines produce toxic gases which can cause serious health troubles.

POWER SUPPLY WARNING Make sure that the power supply equipment complies with the relevant safety requirements of the local and the international standards.

- Electric machine: It must be ensured that the machine is connected to the voltage and the frequency specified on the name plate. The power supply cable has to be properly sized. Check that the cable and the plug of the machine are not damaged. Never switch off the machine by pulling the plug from its socket. Use the machine switch. Keep the cable out of the moving parts of the machine.

- Pneumatic machine: Check that the compressed-air hose and the hose coupling are not damaged. Never attempt to loosen a compressed-air hose which is pressurized. First switch off the air at the compressor and then leave the machine running itself to discharge the hose after some seconds.

- Machine powered by petrol or diesel engine: Petrol has an extremely low flash-point and can be explosive in certain situations. Keep away from all hot or spark-generating objects, do not smoke, when handling fuel. Wait until the machine has cooled before filling the tank. Avoid spilling petrol or diesel on the ground.

STARTING THE MACHINE CAUTION Before starting make yourself familiar with the machine and make sure that the machine does not show any obvious faults. Then start the machine according the instruction and spare parts catalogue.

OPERATION CAUTION Use the machine only for the purpose for which it is intended. Make sure you know how to stop the machine quickly in the event of an emergency situation. Do not touch rotating parts during operation.

MAINTENANCE CAUTION Maintenance work must only be carried out by skilled personnel. Keep unauthorized persons away from the machine. Do not carry out maintenance work while the machine is moving or the engine is running. Never use a machine which is damaged.

BE ALERT CAUTION Always concentrate on what you are doing. Use common sense. Never operate the machine if you are tired or under the influence of drugs alcohol or other substances which can affect your vision, reaction, ability or judgement.

GENERAL The Dynapac ORKA350/450 floor saw is designed for a cutting depth down to 175 mm with a 450 mm disk.

With a total weight of 98Kg ideally distributed over the machine, the ORKA350/450 offers a great stability while in operation.

Indeed the full machine's weight is needed at the front where the cutting effort is required in order to ensure accuracy and less strain for the operator.

The floor saw is designed to provide safe and reliable service in operating conditions corresponding with the instructions, but it can present dangers for the user and risks of damage, consequently regular on site inspection is necessary to ensure : Perfect technical condition (use for the purpose for which it is intended and taking in account any risks, and correction of any malfunction detrimental to safety).

Use a diamond disk for cutting with water (sawing new or old concrete, tarmac or asphalt). No other type of disk is allowed (abrasive , saw , etc...).

Competent staff (qualifications, age, training) who have read and understood the manual in detail before starting work: any electrical, mechanical or other problem should be investigated by a qualified maintenance engineer, maintenance manager, approved dealer, etc...).

That the warnings and instructions marked on the machine are followed (adequate personal protection, correct use, general safety instructions, etc...).

That no modification, transformation or addition is detrimental to safety and that it is carried out without prior authorisation from the manufacturer.

Respect of the maintenance intervals and periodical checks recommended. that only genuine spare parts are used for repairs.

The Dynapac floor saw ORKA350/450 is used for wet sawing new and old concrete and asphalt with diamond blades (water cooled and dry) Ø300-350-450mm / bore 25.4 mm.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FITTING THE BLADE Turn the engine off.

Set the machine in the high position.

Disconnect the water pipe 1 from the blade cover 2.

Take off the blade cover screw 3.

Open the blade cover.

Take care about the direction of rotation. The machine shaft turns clockwise. The blade direction of rotation is shown by an arrow.

Make sure the contact faces of flanges 4-5 of blade and shaft are clean.

Fit the blade.

Firmly lock screw 6 (left hand thread).

Replace blade cover.

Reconnect water pipe.

STARTING UP Check that the fuel tank is full.

Check that the engine oil level is correct. As the engine often operate at an angle, check the oil level (with the engine horizontal) frequently to ensure that it never falls below the second mark on the dipstick.

Fill the tank with water.

Mark the floor by drawing a line in the place to be cut.

Fold down the front guide and position the machine so that the guide and the blade line up with the mark.

Start the engine : refer to the instructions in the manufacturer's service manual.

1 Allow the engine to warm up.

Open the water inlet tap .

Increase the engine speed to the maximum.

Hold the position of the machine, turn anticlockwise the lowering handle to the depth of cut required. 1 revolution = 1cm depth.

Slow descent is recommended to prevent stalling the engine.

Once the required depth is reached, lock the stop lever 16 (see page 4 ) Ensure that the water supply is abundant, when cutting wet.

STOPPING THE MACHINE Release the stop lever 16 and take off the blade from the groove by turning the lowering handle clockwise.

Turn off the water supply.

Set the engine to idle speed using throttle lever.

Stop the engine thanks to ON/OFF switch.

Emergency stop: Operate the switch on the machine's control panel.

INCIDENTS DURING SAWING Several causes can result in blade stopping in the sawing groove or the machine stopping : Tension of belts Lack of fuel Excessively fast feed or descent , etc...

In all cases remove the blade from the groove and check the machine thoroughly .

MAINTENANCE HANDLING-TRANSPORT Switch off the disk prior to moving the machine on the job site.

Remove the disk prior to hoisting, loading, unloading and transporting the machine on job site.

To position the floor saw on the site , simply push it. It will move easily on its four wheels without starting the engine.

For transporting by vehicle or by any kind of lifting gear, use the one point lifting eye situated on the protective frame.

MAINTENANCE For the engine maintenance refer to the engine maintenance book.

Lubrication : apply a moderate amount of bearing lubricant Check engine oil daily. Use SAE 10W30 motor oil with API class MS, SD, SE or better for petrol engines.

Read engine owners manual for air filter maintenance intervals.

In extremely dusty conditions you may have to clean the air filter element 2 to 3 times a day.

Replace any damaged filters or gaskets.

BELT TENSION 6

To be use for belt tensioning or replacement : Untight nut 2 and screw 1.

Untight the four nuts 3 of the engine.

Adjust the tension of the belt 4 using screw 1.

Then relock the four nuts 3 of the engine and the nut 2.

In case of belt replacement : Slide the engine to the front of the machine.

Untight and take off the two pulleys 5 and 6.

Set the new belt on the pulleys then slide them simultaneously on engine and blade shafts. Be careful to not loose the keys.

Tight the pulleys.

Adjust thee belt tension as described before.

Be careful the engine and blade pulleys should stay parallels and aligned.

If not the belt will wear quickly.

APPLICATION AND DISK'S SPECIFICATION FLOOR SAWS IN THE BUILDING INDUSTRY (CONCRETE APPLICATIONS) DYNAPAC ORKA350/450 floor saw is mainly used in the building industry to cut trenches in the concrete for laying pipes, electric and communication cables.

Dimensions of the trenches thus obtained will be very accurate and more economically performed than reservations on blue-prints and then on the site itself.

Another major field in which floor saw are commonly used is for making concrete expansion joints. Whenever repairs need to be made on specific parts of a damaged concrete slab, DYNAPAC ORKA350/450 floor saw will be used.

FLOOR SAWS ON ROADS (ASPHALT) Widely used to cut asphalt stripes when repairs are needed on a road, DYNAPAC ORKA350/450 saw's advantages over sledge hammers are manifold : The job will be accurately performed, thus allowing to make a perfectly straight joint between old and new stripe of asphalt after the repair has been done, The cutting depth is easily and accurately adjusted, Operator's comfort and noise level are largely improved, Therefore Dynapac ORKA350/450 floor saw are a perfect complement to Dynapac extensive range of road equipment.

DISKS Disks for fresh concrete (F type ) : Concrete is considered fresh between 24 and 72 hours after pouring, or immediately after the vacuum process has been completed with DYNAPAC BA40, DYNAPAC original disks for fresh concrete are specially designed for this kind of application with narrow slots (larger active surface ) and undercutting wear protection for accurate cutting and long life.

INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL – ORKA350/450 Disks for cured concrete (C type ) : Concrete is considered as cured as a result of the use of curing agents, or after the full strength has been reached. DYNAPAC disks for cured concrete have a more opened design with wider slots for better evacuation of dust and waste.

Disks for asphalt (A type) : DYNAPAC diamond disks for asphalt are specially resistant to abrasive material. They have an opened design with wider slots for better evacuation of dust and waste. This specific design combined with the fork-watering device on all DYNAPAC floor saws largely improves the disks ‘working life’.
