Usingthewindows

Tooltips

Theprogramcandisplaytooltipsformanyfields.Ifyoumovethe mousepointerontoafieldwithtooltipsupport,thetooltipappears forafewseconds.Tooltipsdisplayadditionalinformationontherespectivefieldorthecurrentcursorposition.

Usingthewindows

Ifyoumovethemousepointertotheedgeofthewindow,the mousepointerturnsintoadoublearrow.

. Movethemousepointerinoneofthearroweddirectionswith theleftmousebuttonpressed. Thewindowchangesinsize.

. Releasethemousebuttononcethesizeofthewindowisthe oneyouneed.

Ifthewindowistoosmallforthecontentstobedisplayed,image scrollbarswithscrollingarrowsandslidersappearnexttothecontent.Thelengthofthesliderscorrespondstothepercentageshare ofthevisiblecontenttothecontentsasawhole.

. Clickonanimagescrollingarrow.

Thecontentsofthewindowwillbeshiftedonelineatatimeinthe directionofthearrow.

. Clickonanimagescrollingslider,keepthemousebutton pressedandmovethesliderinanydirection.

Thecontentsofthewindowfollowthemovementoftheslider. Youcanchangethewidthofthewindowintheapplication.

. Movethemousepointertoawindowborder.

Theimageofthemousepointerchangesintoadoublearrowwitha verticalline.

Themousepointerisplacedautomaticallyonthetitlebarand changesintodoublearrowsintersectingatrightangles.

Thistypeofmovingdoesnotworkwiththeinformationwindows. Theycanonlybemovedusingthefirstmethoddescribedabove.

ThevisualizationprogramisinstalledbypersonnelofCaterpillar GlobalMiningEuropeGmbHandadaptedtothelocalconditions.

5 Operation

Operation General

Youcanusethevisualizationprogramforthediagnosticsandoverviewoffunctionsoftheshearerconvenientlyusingthekeyboard andmouse,likewithconventionalWindowsapplications, e.g.MSWord.

Thisprogramvisualizesthestatesoftheminingequipmentatthe face.Youarethusprovidedwithaconstantoverviewofvariousdifferentparameters.However,usingthisprogram,youcanonly changedefaultparametersandthusinterveneinthecontrolatone point.Atallotherpoints,itisonlyforanoverviewandforyour information.

Thefollowingillustrationsaresnapshots.Theircontentswill differfromyourcurrentprogramview.Theillustrationsinthis manualwerecreatedonPCswithWindows® 7astheoperating system.TheappearanceofthisprogramonyourPCdepends onyouroperatingsystemandtheconfigureddesignofyour useraccount.HowwindowsandoperatingelementsaredisplayedonyourPCmaydeviatefromthismanual.

PCsat“external”sites(1,2)canestablishaconnectionwiththePC abovegroundasclientsviaanintranetorviatheInternetusinga VPN(virtualprivatenetwork).

Theoperatorsatthesitescanonlyinterveneinthe systemata specificpointinVShearer.Otherwise,thisapplicationisonlyforthe visualizationofoperationsthatconcerntheshearer.

Informationonusingpasswords

Thisprogramcanbeprotectedfrombeingclosedunintentionallyor byanunauthorizedperson.Forthis,apasswordcanbeassigned, whichisqueriedbeforeexitingtheapplication.Thisfunctionisnormallyconfiguredbyservicepersonnel.Formoreinformationabout passwords,pleasecontactCaterpillarservicepersonnel.

Toattachtheinformationwindowagainwithintheapplication,drag itintotheapplicationwindowwiththemouse.Attachmentpoints thenappearbothinthecenteroftheapplicationwindow(figure7(4))andalsoonallfoursides,towhichyoucanre-attachthe windowbydraggingitwiththemouse.Atransparentbluearea(figure7(5))indicateswherethewindowcanbeattached,depending onwhichattachmentpointthemousepointerisplaced.

Anumberofanalogindicatorsarearrangedatthetopofthemain window.

Theyindicatemotorcurrentsinthecuttermotors,thehaulageunits andthehydraulicpump,aswellasthemotorcurrentsinthecoal sizerandtransformer.Thevaluesaredisplayedinpercentofthe parameterizablemaximumvalue.Thewarningareasdisplayedresultfromtheparameterssetattheshearerforthemaximumand minimumvalues.

Likeinthecompleteapplication,colorrangesalsoindicate thresholdvalueshere(seepage1.6).Iftheindicatorisinthegreen range,themotorcurrentisintheacceptablerange.Iftheindicator movesintotheyellowrange,themotorcurrenthasexceededan alarmlevel.Thatisnotanindicationofamalfunctionyet,butitisa warningofasituationinwhichafaultmayoccur.Thecontrolwill shutdownthemotorifthemotorcurrentindicatorisintheyellow rangeforalengthyperiod.Iftheindicatorexceedstheredrange, thecontrolwillshutdownthemotorimmediately.

Thepumpsymbolontheleftsidenexttotheindicatorforthecoal sizerdrumindicatesinautomationmodethecurrentstatusofthe coolingsystemusingcolors:

Orientationindication

Inminingmode,therearedifferentaxesfortheorientationofthe directionindicators,suchasthehorizontalandthevertical.

Theorientationindicatorinthemainwindowshows,inasimplified form,thecurrentorientationoftheshearerparalleltothecoalface. Thehorizontalisappliedasthereferenceline,regardlessofthe progressionofthebaseorofthecoalface.Themeasurementis performedbyacontrolunit(inclinometer,IMARunit),whichisinstalledinthedriveframeoftheshearer.

Theorientationindicatorconsistsofaschematicviewandanumericvaluethatindicatesthelongitudinalinclination(thedeviation oftheshearerfromthehorizontal)indegrees.Theabbreviation AFTstandsfor“AlongFaceTilt”.

Theorientationisindicatedbytiltingtheschematicviewtotheright orleft.Tomakeiteasiertoidentify,thereareblack,horizontalauxiliarylinesinthebackgroundofthediagram.Theschematicdiagramintheforegroundusesanorangelinetoindicatethecurrent inclinationoftheshearer.Iftheshearerisexactlyinahorizontal position,theorangelineisparalleltotheauxiliarylines.

Important!

Regardlessofthedirectionoftravelandalsoofthepositionof thetailgateandtheheadgate,theangleisalwayspositiveif theLEFTsideisraised;iftheRIGHTsideofthesheareris raisedtheangleisalwaysnegative.

Aschematicviewoftheshearerisdisplayedroughlyinthecenter ofthemainwindow.Theviewshowsthesidefacingawayfromthe coalface,whichmeansthattheshearerisbetweenyouandthe coalface.Theviewchangesdependingonthesettinganglesthat thetwoshearerarmsassume.

Thisgraphicisforaquickoverviewofthecurrentpositionofthe twoshearerarms.
