Theseinclude: adequateandcontinuousventilation, plowwatercurtain/watersprayingsystem.
TheM2equipmentmustbeswitchedoffifthefiredampconcentrationinthefreecrosssectionoftheconsistentlyventilatedareasof thefaceexceedsacertainpercentageofthelowerexplosionlimit (LEL),definedbynationallegislation.
Itmayonlyberestartedbyauthorizedpersons.
Theatmosphereinthemineshouldbemonitoredathazardous pointstoallowthepowersupplyofalldevicestobeswitchedoff, exceptthosewhicharerelevantforsafetyandsuitableforusein explosiveatmospheres.

Prerequisitesforoperation Puttingtheplowdriveunitintoserviceisprohibiteduntilthemachineintowhichthisplowdriveunitisinstalledhasbeenfoundto complywiththeEuropeanDirective94/9/ECandtheStandard DINEN1710.
Astheequipmentsuppliedisonlypartofanoverall system,theoperatorisresponsibleformeetingthenecessarysafetyrequirements orinstallingtherequiredsafety systemsforthedevices/componentsnotincludedinthescopeofsupplyofthisequipmentand/or otherdevices/componentsrequiredforoperation.Theseshallbe markedaccordingtothelegalprovisionsapplicableatthetimethey areplacedonthemarket.
TheM2equipment/plowdriveunitmayonlybeoperatedwhenthe safetyrequirementsaccordingtoDINEN1552havebeenmet. Theseinclude: systemspreventing unauthorizedstarting, startupwarningsystems, watersprayingsystems, safelockoutcommandsystems, emergency-stopsystems, dustextractionsystems, noiseprotection, warningstatements,etc.
Electricalequipmentrequiredtooperatetheplowdriveunitshallbe markedaccordingtolegalprovisionsapplicableatthetimeitis placedonthemarket.

Starttheminingequipmentonlywhenitisinagoodandsafeconditionandallsafetyequipment,e.g.EMERGENCYSTOPdevices, coverplates,etc.arecorrectlyinstalled.
Keepthesignalingandlightingsystemsinaproperfunctionalcondition.
Payattentiontotheacousticandvisualstartwarningsoftheconveyorandtheminingequipment.
ObservethesymbolplatesontheGleithobelplow system.
PresstheEMERGENCYSTOPswitchimmediately,intheevent offaultsorirregularitiesinoperation.Notifyyoursupervisorofany peculiarity,sothatnecessaryactioncanbetakenimmediately.
AlsopresstheEMERGENCYSTOPswitchwhensafetyequipment suchasfiredampprotection systemsbreakdown.
Pressthesupportlock-outswitchwhenperforming: maintenancework, inspectionwork, repairwork, orwhensafetyequipmentfailssuchas: –firedampprotection.
Ensurethatpartsofyourbodydonotgetcaughtbetweenmoving machinecomponents,suchas: miningequipment, plowchain, conveyorchains, flights, spillplates, chainsprockets, relaybarassemblies.
Besuretoobservetheintervalsspecifiedmaintenanceandchecks oftheplowdriveunitashotsurfacesmayigniteexplosiveatmospheresanddust.
Storageandtransport Observethespecifiedstorageperiodsandthestorageinstructions. Donotstoreanymaterialsorcomponentsinthetravelwayorin yourworkingarea.
Informthepersonsconcernedabouttheintendedtransportroute andtheprobabledurationofthetransport.
Ensurethatthetransportsafetydeviceshavebeencorrectlyinstalled.
Secureallmovingpartssothattheyarestationary.
Neverstayunderunsecuredcomponentsorsuspendedloads.
Connecttheliftinggearonlytotheliftingpointsprovidedforthat purpose.Observethedifferentloadlimitsoftheliftingpoints.Also observetheinstructionsonthetransportsheets.
Onlyusemeansofattachmentwhichareinagoodconditionand havebeendesignedfortheloadsconcerned.
Onlyusetransportstrapsforroundcomponentswhicharenot providedwithliftingpoints.Neverusechainsorsteelcablesforthis purpose.
Donotdamagethefinishedorpolishedsurfacesofshafts,sealing surfaces,guidesurfacesetc.
Whenusingfloorconveyingdevicesfortransport,makesurethat thecenterofgravityisaslowaspossible.
Installingandputtingtheconveyorintoservice
Onaninclinedfacesecureallindividualpartsusingchains,e.g.on thesupports.
Whenworkingwithoil,greaseandotherchemicalsubstances, observethesafetyregulationsfortherespectiveproducts.
Disposeofauxiliaryequipmentwhichhasbeensoiledwithoil, greaseorotherchemicalsubstancesinanenvironmentallysound manner.
Maintenanceandrepairs Makesureyouobservetheprescribedmaintenanceandinspection intervals.
Informthesupervisorypersonnelandthefacecrewaboutmaintenanceandrepairwork.Providethemwithinformationontheintendedworkanditsexpectedduration.
Secureyourworkingareaoverawiderange,inordertoavoidendangeringotherpersons.
