2. Running-in services
Running-in service is to be carried out after operating the dump truck the fi rst 8, 100 and 500 hours.
These services are most impor tant for running in a new dump truck.
This is the owner’s responsibility.
2.1 First 8 hours: 1. Wheel nuts. Check tightening of nuts. • Torque setting: 450 Nm. Spanner: 32 mm 2. Lubricating. Grease all lubricating points. 3. Battery: Checking electrolyte level in the batteries, see 500 hours service, item 1.5. Checking battery charge, see 1000 hours service, item 2.3. 4. Multi-groove belt: Checking multi-groove belt condition, see 1000 hours service, item 2.4. 5. Carry on with the normal 8 hours service, listed in chapter 7, maintenance. Since these points are important for the dump truck to work satisfactorily right from the start they are also listed below. All items below refer to 8 hours / daily service in chapter 7. 1. General • Walk around check, before star t Item 1.1 • Check driver's seat, before start Item 1.2 2. Engine • General condition check - look for leakages remedy as necessary Item 2.1 • Drain the water separating fuel fi lter 4* Item 2.2 • Check oil level, before star t 1* Item 2.3 • Check coolant level, before star t 5* Item 2.4 Coolant should be fi lled up when the engine is stopped after fi rst stop. It is recommended to fi ll up with the same mixture as fi lled from the producer - 40% glycol / 60% water, see also 2000 hours service, item 1.2 check the coolant. • Check fuel level, before star t 13* Item 2.5 • Function check of the centrifugal cleaner, after operation 2* Item 2.6 3. Transmission • Check oil level, before operation 20* Item 3.1 4. Hydraulic system • Check oil level, before star t 40* Item 4.1 6. Brake system • Parking brake, check braking (holding) capacity, before operation Item 6.1 • Service brake (main brake), check braking (holding) capacity, before operation Item 6.2 • Service brake (main brake), Check function, before operation Item 6.3 • Accumulators, check the oil pressure, before operation Item 6.4 7. Steering • Check function, before operation Item 7.1 8. Engine brake • Check function, before operation Item 8.1 9. Engine and retarder brake • Check function, before operation Item 9.1 2.2 First 100 hours: 1. Change transmission oil. 20* See 1000 hours service, item 3.1. 2. Replace transmission fi lter. 21* See 1000 hours service, item 3.1. 3. Clean strainer. 22* See 1000 hours service, item 3.1. 4. Replace hydraulic fi lter. 43* See 1000 hours service, item 4.2. 5. Run the AEB-Tester See Initial 500 hours service, item 2.1. 6. Multi-groove belt: Checking multi-groove belt condition, see 1000 hours service, item 2.4. 7. Expander bolts: Checking torque setting on expander bolts on tip- and steering cylinders, see 500 hours service, item 5.1 8. Retorque window wiper spindle nuts. • Torque setting: 35 Nm (M10), 18 Nm (M8) 9. Lubricating. Grease all lubricating points.
2.3 First 500 hours: 1. Change oil in: • Front differential. 30* See 1000 hours service, item 5.1. • Rear differential. 31* See 1000 hours service, item 6.1. • Tandem housings. 32* See initial 500 hours service, item 3.1. • Reduct. gears, front. 33* See 1000 hours service, item 8.1. 2. Check/adjust: • PDE injector rocker arms See initial 500 hours service, item 1.1 • Valve clearance See 2000 hours service, item 1.1. • Hydraulic oil pressure. Contact your local Moxy dealer. 3. Run the AEB-Tester. Procedure described in initial 500 hours service, item 2.1. 4. Lubricating. Grease all lubricating points. 5.
