1. Park the machine on a firm, level surface, lower the bucket, and shut off the engine. 2. Keep all non-authorized personnel clear of the machine. Turn the ignition key to the ON position. Pilot control switch must be ON.

3. Operate the control levers from right to left and front to rear approximately a dozen times to relieve hydraulic line pressure and install vacuum pump on hydraulic tank. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and remove the key. NOTICE: Before carrying out any service work on the hydraulic system, it is necessary to allow the system to cool (the temperature should not be more than 40 °C (104.0 °F).
4. Open the engine access hood. Turn the timed battery disconnect to the OFF position. 5. Remove all contaminants from hose and tube connections required to be disconnected. For identification purposes, label all disconnected electrical wires, hoses, and tubes. Plug and cap all open hose and tube connections. Ensure plugs and caps are clean and free of debris. NOTE: Before installation of any hydraulic hose, tube or fitting, make certain O-ring seals are properly installed and lubricated. 6. Lower the bucket/attachment to the ground, install the transport/service link into the lock position and switch off the engine. Refer to the chapter “Safety precautions” contained in the Operator’ Manual.
