EU-Type Approval 167/2013: “Mother regulation” General Impact EU-Type Approval EU167/2013 on greenline  From 01/01/2018 optional for all trailers and towed implements (DISCO, VOLTO, LINER, CARGOS, QUANTUM and balers)  EU Member States are able to adopt this EU legislation into national law at any time causing the EU-Type Approval to be binding also for all trailers and towed implements  Some countries have already changed to the EU-Type Approval (NL 01/01/2018), others will follow (e.g. Spain 01/01/2019)

EU-Type Approval 167/2013: “Mother regulation” Impact EU-Type Approval EU167/2013 on greenline  Beside e.g. the documents* and a new identification plate, the EU167/2013 for trailers and implements requires additional technical content (e.g. safety chain)  To be prepared for these market demands new options are available (are in standard for all the affected subtypes!)

*Print and distribution of COC over sales network (similar process to CT)

 The maximum permissible speed for machines hitched via two point (lower linkage) is restricted to 40 km/h with EU167/2013!  The option is configured into the standard equipment and cannot be deconfigured, because every EU type approved machine must include the technical equipment even when the machines are sold in countries which have not yet adopted the EU Type Approval!

EU-Type Approval 167/2013: “Mother regulation” Impact EU-Type Approval EU167/2013 on CLAAS Greenline  Single-circuit hydraulic brakes are not permissable under the EU-Type approval. All countries which adopt the EU-Type Approval must, therefore, switch to air brakes.  (Double circuit hydraulic brakes will not be available for CLAAS Greenline, CARGOS, and balers)

CARGOS 700/8000/9000 EU-Type Approval 167/2013: “Mother regulation” 

CARGOS 8000/9000 have an EU-Type Approval in Category S (towed working machine)



CARGOS 700 have an EU- Type Approval in Category R (Trailer)



In accordance with EU 167/2013 Type Approval a maximum tongue weight of 4 t (with K80 ball) and 3 t (with ring type towing eye) are approved up to a maximum speed of 60 km/h* (currently only 2 t over 40 km/h)



Single circuit hydraulic brakes are not permitted according to the EU-Type Approval. Countries which have adopted EU167/2013 must specify the machines with air brakes!



Apart from the documents*, and a new machine plate the scope of the EU-Type Approval requires additional legal equipment EU 167/2013 (LW_S02 0020) is necessary including (with CARGOS 8000 9000) a security device to protect the machine against unauthorized use
