Fig. 25553 Do a ground test, using the volt-ohmmeter. With the ohmmeter on the RxlO,OOO scale, connect one ohmmeter lead to the positive (+) side of the truck battery receptacle, and the other ohmmeter lead to the truck frame. Keep a record of the resistance on the PM report form. Then, connect one ohmmeter lead to the negative (-) side of the truck battery receptacle and the other ohmmeter lead to the truck frame. Keep a record of the resistance on the PM report form. There should be a minimum resistance of 30,000 ohms for used trucks or 50,000 ohms for new trucks on both tests.
