WHEN PERFORMING THE DRIVE MOTOR CURRENT DRAW TESTS, THE TRUCK MUST BE FIRMLY SUPPORTED ON WOOD BLOCKS. THE WOOD BLOCKS MUST NOT CONTACT THE DRIVE WHEEL.

Check the drive motor current draw. With the drive wheel off the floor, turn the key (if equipped) clockwise to the ON position. Push the directional control knob for the top free wheeling speed in the forward mode. Repeat this procedure for the reverse mode. Record the readings on the PM report form. On P40, P60 and HWP 40 trucks, the drive motor current draw reading should be 38 amps. On HWP 60 trucks, the reading should be 32 amps.

Remove the wood blocks and lower the truck. Install the drive unit cover and the hydraulics cover. Fig. 23683
