1.1.1 Safety ► Work may be carried out only by a qualified authorized workshop with trained technical staff. ► Observe the general safety, accident prevention and environmental protection regulations. ► Before starting work on the machine, read and observe the safety instructions provided in the Operator's Manual and the safety decals on the machine. ► Carry out any work only with the drive shut down and the engine stopped! – Remove the ignition key! ► Carry out work underneath a raised machine/front attachment or raised components only if a safe support is provided. ► Before working on the hydraulic system, lower the machine/front attachment and hydraulic components down. Depressurize the system. ► Relieve the pressure of pre-loaded energy accumulators (springs, accumulators, hydraulic cylinders) and of components pressurized by energy accumulators according to regulations prior to starting installation work! ► When replacing parts carrying a safety decal, ensure that the corresponding safety decals are applied to the new parts. ► Refit any dismounted safety devices and other parts prior to putting the machine into operation and move them to their protective position. ► When installation is complete, check if all bolts are tightly seated. Carry out a functional check. ► The dimensions are metric dimensions. The corresponding U.S. dimension are provided in brackets.

4.1.1 Putting the machine out of operation Before work is carried out on the machine, perform the following steps: Stop the diesel engine.

Apply the parking brake.

Remove the ignition key.

Remove the key of the battery isolating switch.

Wait until machine parts which continue rotating have come to a complete halt. ► Secure machine using wheel chocks. ► Ensure that the machine cannot be started by any third persons. ► ► ► ► ►

4.1.3 Retrofitting the air compressor – Open the grain tank completely.

– Open the engine bonnet.

– Let the engine and the machine units cool down.

– Drain coolant.

► Unscrew screw fittings (A). ► Put down tube (B).

Unscrew screw fittings (C) on the inside of the ► grain tank. ► Remove and put down installation cover (D).

► Cut cable band (E); no longer required. ► Unlock and pull off coolant line (F); no longer required. ► Collect the coolant properly. ► Unscrew hex. bolts (G); no longer needed. ► Remove cap (H); no longer needed. ► Collect and dispose of lubricating oil (small quantity) properly.

► Connect coolant line (1) to the engine. ► The coolant line must engage at the connection.

► Bolt down air compressor (2) to the timing housing with hex. bolts (17). ► If necessary, twist the drive gear when installing. ► Tighten hex. bolts (17) step by step: ► Step 1: 10 Nm. ► Step 2: 50 Nm. ► Connect coolant lines (1) and (3) to air compressor (2). ► The coolant lines must engage at the connection. ► Connect coolant line (3) to the existing coolant line (on the engine side). ► The coolant line must engage at the connection.

► Fasten the coolant line on the engine with cable band (3a). ► Insert O-ring (4) into cap (5).

► Screw cap (5) down to air compressor (2) with hex. bolts (16). ► Tightening torque of hex. bolts: 50 ± 7.5 Nm.

► Bolt down resonance vessel (6) with contact washers (12) and hex. bolts (14). ► Connect suction line (7) to air compressor (2) and resonance vessel (6). ► If necessary, twist the suction line carefully when installing until it engages at the connections.

► Unlock caps (J) and (K) and disconnect them from cylinder head cover (L); no longer required.

► Connect suction line (8) to resonance vessel (6) and the cylinder head cover. ► The suction line must engage at the connections.

► Unlock closure cap (M) on air intake pipe (O) and pull it off; no longer required. ► Connect suction line (9) to cylinder head cover (L) and air intake pipe (O). ► The suction line must engage at the connections.

► Screw suction line (9) to angle (P), using wedged lock washer (11) and hex. bolt (13). ► Note: Depending on the engine version, angle (P) may not exist on a given engine. In this case, carry out the work steps below. ► Unscrew screw fitting (Q); no longer required.

4.1.4 Installing the compressed air reservoir and laying the compressed air lines ► Screw male connectors (19) and (20) into air compressor (2). ► Tightening torques: ► Male connector (19) = 75 Nm. ► Male connector (20) = 35 Nm.

► Unscrew screw fittings (R). ► Put sheet metal (T) aside.

► Fasten compressed air feed lines (21) and (22) on the machine with rubber bearings (23), clamping brackets (24), contact washers (37), self-locking nuts (40) and hex. bolts (42).

► Bolt down angle (33) with screw fitting (V). ► Fasten compressed air feed lines to angle (33) using rubber bearing (23) and clamping bracket (24). ► Bolt down rubber bearing and clamping bracket with contact washer (37), self-locking nut (40) and hex. bolt (43).

► Fasten compressed air line (28a) on the rubber bearing by means of fastening clamp (34). ► Bolt the fastening clamp down to hex. bolt (43) with contact washer (37) and hex. nut (39). ► Fasten compressed air line (28a) to the ground drive hoses by using 2 cable bands (44). ► Attention: Compressed air line (28a) must not touch the compressed air feed lines of compressed air reservoir. Risk of damage to the compressed air line (high temperature).

► Unlock caps (J) and (K) and disconnect them from cylinder head cover (L); no longer required.

6.1.4 Installing the compressed air reservoir and laying the compressed air lines ► Screw male connectors (19) and (20) into air compressor (2). ► Tightening torques: ► Male connector (19) = 75 Nm. ► Male connector (20) = 35 Nm.

► Guide compressed air feed lines (21) and (22) through the side wall from the outside and to the air compressor.

► Fasten compressed air feed lines (21) and (22) on the machine with rubber bearings (23), clamping brackets (24), contact washers (37), self-locking nuts (40) and hex. bolts (42).

► Bolt down compressed air reservoir (18) with contact washers (38), hex. nuts (39) and hex. bolts (41). ► Apply warning decal (35) to compressed air reservoir (18).

► Unscrew screw fitting (V).

► Bolt down angle (33) with screw fitting (V). ► Fasten compressed air feed lines to angle (33) using rubber bearing (23) and clamping bracket (24). ► Bolt down rubber bearing and clamping bracket with contact washer (37), self-locking nut (40) and hex. bolt (43).

► Fasten compressed air line (28a) on the rubber bearing by means of fastening clamp (34). ► Bolt the fastening clamp down to hex. bolt (43) with contact washer (37) and hex. nut (39). ► Fasten compressed air line (28a) to the ground drive hoses by using 2 cable bands (44). ► Attention: Compressed air line (28a) must not touch the compressed air feed lines of compressed air reservoir. Risk of damage to the compressed air line (high temperature).

► Screw on Schott male connector (29). ► Screw plug-in unit (31) to Schott male connector (29). ► Plug compressed air line (28b) into plug-in unit (31). ► Screw closure coupler (32) to Schott male connector (29). ► Couple dust cap (30) to ring (W). ► Apply function decal (36).
