Description of function: The “Baling pressure reached” pressure relief valve (752) protects the baling chamber against overloads. It limits the oil pressure in the hydraulic cylinders on the ram rod side (200 bar max.) and allows opening the baling chamber when this value is exceeded.

Close tailgate

- Oil flows from the close tailgate solenoid valve (Y28) to port A. - The volume flow opens the lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734).

- Oil flows from port A1 to the ram rod sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2).

- Oil flows from the ram top sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2) from port B to the close tailgate solenoid valve (Y28) and further to the tank.

- The "Baling pressure reached" pressure relief valve (752) limits the oil pressure of port A (closing pressure) to 200 bar.

Tailgate closed

- The enclosed oil column to the close / open tailgate solenoid valves (Y28/Y27) is applied at port A. - Oil from the ram top sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2) is applied at port B1.

- Pressurized oil is applied at port A1 due to the baling pressure from the ram rod side.

- The enclosed oil column to the solenoid valve (Y27/Y28) is applied at port B. - This depends on the outside diameter of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2): (adjustable at 1 l/min) pmax. = 200 bar - The lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734) shuts off the oil pressure from port A1.

Open tailgate

- Oil flows from the open tailgate solenoid valve (Y27) to port B1.

- Oil flows from port B1 to the ram top sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2).

- The release slide (K) is actuated by pressurized oil from B and opens the lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734) by means of release slide (K).

- Oil flows from the ram rod side of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2) to port A. - Oil flows from A1 through the open lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734) to solenoid valve (Y27).

Description of function: The “Baling pressure reached” pressure relief valve (752) protects the baling chamber against overloads. It limits the oil pressure in the hydraulic cylinders on the ram rod side and allows opening the baling chamber when this value is exceeded. The opening pressure can be adjusted by a knurled nut.

Close tailgate

- Oil from the close tailgate solenoid valve (Y28) flows via valve block (V) to port A of valve block (I).

The return line in the lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734-3) is opened.

- The volume flow opens the lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734).

- Oil flows from port A1 to the ram rod sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2).

Oil flows from the ram top sides of the tailgate cylinders to port B1 – from port B to solenoid valve (Y28).

- Oil flows from the ram top sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2) via the relieved lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734-3) from port B to the close tailgate solenoid valve (Y28) and further to the tank.

- The "Baling pressure reached" pressure relief valve (752) limits the oil pressure of port A (closing pressure).

Tailgate closed

- The enclosed oil column to the close / open tailgate solenoid valves (Y28/Y27) is applied at port A. - Oil from the ram top sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2) is applied at port B1 (valve block V).

- Pressurized oil is applied at port A1 due to the baling pressure from the ram rod side.

- The lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734) shuts off the oil pressure from port A1 (valve block I).

- The lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734-3) shuts off the oil pressure from port B (valve block V).

- The "Baling pressure reached" pressure relief valve (752) limits the oil pressure of port A1 (baling pressure).

- This depends on the outside diameter of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2): (adjustable at 1 l/min) pmax. = 230 bar at 48 mm outside diameter cylinder pmax. = 130 bar at 60 mm outside diameter cylinder

Open tailgate

- Oil flows from the open tailgate solenoid valve (Y27) to port B1.

- Oil flows from port B1 to the ram top sides of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2).

- The release slide (K) is actuated by pressurized oil from B and opens the lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734) by means of release slide (K).

- Oil flows from the ram rod side of the tailgate hydraulic cylinders (318-1 / 318-2) to port A1.

- Oil flows from A1 through the open lock-up valve unit non-return valve (734) via valve block (V) to solenoid valve (Y27).

Description of function: - Pressure relief valve 752 limits the pressure difference between A / B and A1.

- This differential pressure acts upon the tailgate as closing force.

- The adjustable range is between 70 and 130 bar.

- The pressure ranges 70, 110 and 130 bar are marked on the handwheel.

- The lock-up valve unit 734-3 shuts off the oil flow from B1L and B1R when the tailgate is open.

Characteristics of differential pressure control - A leaky tractor control unit (ROLLANT Standard) or tailgate control unit (ROLLANT Comfort) will not reduce the baling pressure.

- The pressure acting on the tailgate cylinders’ (318) ram bottom due to leaks will not reduce the tailgate closing force (the baling pressure), but increases the spring force of the pressure relief valve.

- The baling pressure gauge (912) shows a higher pressure than the allowed 130 bar max. However, the effective baling pressure (the tailgate closing force) is only 130 bar.

This is due to the oil pressure acting on the ram bottom. In such a case, the tailgate cylinders amplify the pressure due to the different active surfaces.

-The oil coming from the ram rod side of reverser cylinder (337) flows via the open right non-return valve. The return flow lifts the pilot spool of the solenoid valve (Y57) and thus returns to the tank.

Description of function: - The master valve (Y77) blocks the circulating volume flow from P to T of the open hydraulic system when a function has been actuated – pressure is built up.

- In neutral position, the master valve (Y77) is not actuated, making the oil flow back to the tank via the ring channels. Due to the large channel cross-section, the circulation pressure is very low.

- The master valve is energized in connection with all hydraulic functions requiring pressure build-up.

- When the tailgate opens, pressure is applied at port P. - The feed ram (65) in the filling chamber (64) is pushed upwards.

- The resulting pressure in the filling chamber (64) lifts the pin (61) inside the control spool (62).

- The connection to the reservoir is closed.

- The control spool (62) is pushed upwards against the spring pressure, at the same time: - The bores are opened for the lubricating oil lines (A).

- The feed ram (65) pumps the lubricating oil in the filling chamber (64) evenly to the lubricating points.

- The even oil feed is guaranteed by the restrictor bores (1 mm).

Port P is pressureless.

The springs (63) press the feed ram (65) to the bottommost position.

The filling chamber (64) is fully open.

The control spool (62) is also pushed to the stop by a spring (60).

In this position, all bores to the lubricating lines (A) are closed by the control spool (62).

- The pin (61) in the control spool (62) falls down and thus releases the connection from the reservoir to the filling chamber (64).

- The lubricating agent can flow from the reservoir into the filling chamber (64).
