The name CEBIS stands for CLAAS electronic onboard information system. CEBIS is a computerassisted control, monitoring, recording and information system for self-propelled harvesting machines.

Using the keypad (2) all desired information can be called up on the colour monitor (1). Machine settings are performed and data are stored and edited.

CEBIS starts automatically when the ignition is turned on. Some settings also require the diesel engine to be switched on and the road driving / field driving switch to be on field driving.

While CEBIS is starting up, it automatically checks the function of all connected components, sensors, modules and the monitor.

In the direct menu (2) different main functions of the machine can be called up and adjusted.

2.2.6 Prior to initial commissioning Prior to initial commissioning of the machine, various settings must be learned or carried out and checked. The basic setting of the machine has already been done in the factory.

Description Adjust AUTO-CONTOUR (CAC) sensitivity: (affects the reaction speed of the front attachment.)

The front attachment end stops must be learned in advance!

Grain cutterbar 0% to 48% / recommendation 32 % LEXION Montana 0% to 48% / recommendation 32 % Soybean cutterbar 49% to 60% / recommendation 55 % Maize picker 61% to 100% / recommendation 80 % Setting of 0% means no consideration of the signals from the sensing bands.

Setting of 100% means maximum effect of the sensing bands on the automatic cutting height control.

The sensitivity setting is displayed in the harvest display in the AUTO-CONTOUR reference scale as a graduation mark.

Set the working width

Adjust the partial width proportion setting.

This value describes the partial widths of the front attachment that are actively receiving crop.

For the correct area calculation, it is important to communicate to CEBIS via the partial width proportions that the working width is not being fully utilised.

If there is a departure from the set working height of the front attachment, CEBIS automatically switches back to full working width.

Adjust the automatic front attachment function: – Switch on or off the Vario automatic unit using the +/- keys.

Learning working position: Follow instructions from CEBIS. A front attachment clearance height is adopted as a limit between working position and raised front attachment.

2.2.18 Yield measuring menu

Specific crop weight (weight per litre): enter a value using the +/- keys.

Calibration factor: enter a value using the +/- keys.

Switch on or off the moisture measurement using the +/- keys.

Switch on or off yield display for storage moisture using the +/- keys.

Moisture correction: change the value using the +/- keys.

Compare the value of the moisture measurement of CEBIS with a calibrated measuring device. When there are deviations, adopt the value of the calibrated measuring device in the CEBIS. Example: - CEBIS moisture measurement 17.0% - Moisture content according to the calibrated measuring device 15.7% - Moisture correction -1.3% – Storage moisture: enter a value using the +/- keys.

If the machine data are loaded, a fixed value of the storage moisture is automatically prescribed for each kind of crop.

For customised data, values for the storage moisture can be entered for each kind of crop.

Standard values: - Grain approximately 14% - Rape seed/rape approximately 9% Yield measuring calibration

Starting test-weighing procedure: Follow instructions from CEBIS. In order to achieve as high a precision as possible in the yield measuring, perform test-weighing anew on each field and for each crop.

Stopping test-weighing: Follow instructions from CEBIS. Entering weight-measured crop yield: For an exact yield measuring, the exact determination and entry of the specific crop weight (weight per litre) is necessary.

Therefore, the specific crop weight (weight per litre) displayed in the Yield measuring setting menu should be checked via the test-weighing procedure and corrected as needed.

3.1.6 Changing the cruise control ground speed (km/h) The saved ground speed may be changed using the +/- keys in CEBIS, even while driving.

Diesel engine protection is active in this mode. It causes a reduction of the ground speed under heavy loading.

– Switch on the CRUISE PILOT. – Select CRUISE PILOT (1) in the CEBIS main menu.

– The cutting height is adapted to the ground contours in direction of travel.

– The cutting height is adapted to the ground contours both in direction of travel and crosswise to the direction of travel.

In the AUTO-CONTOUR and CONTOUR cutting height control, there is a distinction between two cutting height ranges.

1st sensing band with ground contact up to approximately 150 mm cutting height (X): Here, the ground pressure is transmitted to the machine via the sensing bands (1) of the front attachment which have ground contact.

The measured ground pressure is permanently adapted to the saved ground pressure value by raising or lowering the front attachment.

Thus the cutting height (X) is adapted to the ground contours

2nd sensing band without ground pressure starting at approximately 150 mm cutting height (X): When the cutting height (X) is fixed, there is no active control because the sensing bands (1) have no ground contact, for example for rape seed harvesting.

As soon as a sensing band (1) of the front attachment makes ground contact due to an obstacle, the front attachment moves out of the way.

The AUTO-CONTOUR cutting height control includes not only the CONTOUR system, but also lateral levelling.
