Description of function Main power supply

The power supply from the tractor to the baler is by connector XV. On the tractor, this power supply shall be fused with 25 amperes max.

Adaption terminal

The baler can be operated either with the standard or the medium terminal.

Depending on the terminal, the front wiring loom with connector XT1 changes.

Setting of wrapping type

The wrapping type (net / twine) is pre-selected on the control terminal (A091).

After that, further modifications are necessary.

Automatic wrapping release

Due to the completely filled bale chamber, the baler reaches the pre-set hydraulic baling pressure. The tailgate is forced open. The wrapping process is started automatically.

Starting net wrapping only manually

When setting the delay time until net wrapping is released to the max. value on the control terminal (A091), net wrapping can be started only manually.

(For further information, please refer to the Operator's manual).

Warning: Bale ejector actuated

When there still is a bale on the bale ejector after opening the tailgate, this is detected by the electronic unit via the bale ejector actual value switch (Z006).

The control terminal (A091) informs the operator.

Premature release of wrapping process

The control terminal (A091) allows premature release of the wrapping process.

(For further information, please refer to the Operator's manual).

Wrapping start delay

The control terminal (A091) allows delaying the wrapping start.

(For further information, please refer to the Operator's manual).

Description of function - Setting of actual value switch Bale ejector actual value switch (Z006) and cam track actual value switch (Z035)

Set the actual value switches so that they are mechanically actuated by 5mm max. and reliably change the signal.

Tailgate closed actual value switch (Z016)

Open the tailgate to 15 /+ 5 mm. Here the measuring point is the gap at the height of the pivot point of roller no. 2. Adjust the adjusting bolt on the tailgate so that the switch changes its signal at that position, thus starting wrapping.

Adjust the mechanical limit so that the switch can be pushed in by 5 mm max.

Description of function The performance data (total number of bales, operating hours, ...) are stored in module A020 (CCU). These data can be read out using the CDS diagnosis system.

Communication of the module with the terminal A044 is via the CAN bus.

Measurements in the CAN bus network

The voltage level in a CAN bus network often allows identifying faults caused by short-circuits. The measuring value tables below serve for a rough orientation. The voltage level may vary for different CAN communications. Using a volt meter, only the effective voltage values (Volt eff) are measured. When carrying out CAN bus measurements using the CDS, the results deviate from the volt meter measurement since the CDS always measures the highest amplitude voltage (Volt do) exclusively.

Description of function ROTOCUT ON / OFF

For operation of the ROTOCUT unit, module A020 (CCU) energises the corresponding solenoid coils Y054/Y055. When the ROTOCUT IN function is active, solenoid coil Y055 is permanently energised. The pressure applied in the cylinders is maintained hydraulically by the unenergised solenoid valve Y054 - see the "Hydraulic System" chapter. During operation with terminal (A044), the master valve (Y077) is actuated in parallel since this function requires a pressure-build-up in the system.

When the ROTOCUT OUT function is active, solenoid coil Y054 is permanently energised. The knives are pushed out by the baled material. Sensor B111 detects the knives position and transmits it to module A020 (CCU). This module displays the current knives position on terminal (A044) via the CAN bus.

Reverse rotor

When the rotor is plugged, reversing can be started on terminal (A044). For actuating the rotor reversing, module A020 (CCU) energises the corresponding rotor reverse solenoid coils Y056/Y057.

The master valve (Y077) is also actuated in parallel with the solenoid coils Y056/Y057 since this function requires a pressure-build-up in the system.

With the rotor reverse cylinder (3037) retracted, the reversing position sensor (B131) transmits a signal to module A020 (CCU).

Description of function - Setting of sensors Reversing position sensor (B131)

The reversing position sensor (B131) has a LED indicator light.

When the signal (metal ahead of sensor) has been detected, this LED lights up bright.

Hall sensor B111

The angle of the ROTOCUT knives position can be read out using the CDS diagnosis system.With the knives retracted, the displayed value shall be above 35°.

Description of function Ready for operation

The machine is ready for automatic wrapping operation when this condition is displayed in terminal (A044). When the machine is not ready, the corresponding fault symbol is displayed.

Setting of wrapping type

The wrapping type (net/twine) is preselected on terminal (A044).

Automatic wrapping release

Due to the completely filled bale chamber, the baler reaches the pre-set hydraulic baling pressure. The tailgate is pushed open by approx.1.5 cm. The filled bale chamber and the stop symbol are displayed in terminal (A044). The wrapping process is started automatically.

Premature release of wrapping process

Pressing the wrapping release key on terminal (A044) enables premature release of the wrapping process.

Delaying the wrapping process

Pressing the wrapping release key on terminal (A044) and keeping it pressed delays the start of the wrapping process. Only after the wrapping release key is released on terminal (A044), the wrapping process starts automatically.

Setting the number of net wraps

The desired number of net wraps is set in terminal (A044). Module (A020) monitors the net wrapping with the drive speed (B009) and net roll speed (B022) sensors. Before the pre-set number of net wraps is reached, the net cutter motor is started. The net is cut.

(See net wrapping sequence diagram).

Setting the number of twine wraps

The desired number of twine wraps is set in terminal (A044). Module (A020) monitors twine wrapping with the drive speed (B009), left twine ball speed (B013) and right twine ball speed (B014) sensors.

(See twine wrapping sequence diagram).

Automatic tailgate operation

Automatic opening and closing of the tailgate after successfully completed wrapping can be activated in terminal (A044). The automatic function is monitored by the tailgate closed sensor (B135), the tailgate open sensor (B136) and by the bale ejector actual value switch (Z006).

Note: For cabling of the relevant solenoid valves, please refer to circuit diagram 12.

Description of function - Adjustment of sensors / actual value switch HALL sensor (B009, B013, B014, B022)

The signal change (O-I) can be read out using the CDS diagnosis system. If there is no signal change, the clearance of the sensors must be corrected.

Bale ejector actual value switch (Z006)

Adjust the switch so that it can be pushed in by 5 mm max. The signal change (O-I) can be read out using the CDS diagnosis system.

Tailgate closed sensor (B135)

Open the tailgate to 15 /+ 5 mm. Here the measuring point is the gap at the height of the pivot point of roller no. 2. Adjust the sensor on the tailgate so that it changes its signal at this position, thus starting wrapping. The signal change (O-I) can be detected on the LED indicator light of the sensor. The CDS diagnosis system also enables reading out the signal change.

Tailgate open sensor (B136)

Adjust the sensor on the tailgate so that it changes its signal at this tailgate open position. The signal change (O-I) can be detected on the LED indicator light of the sensor. The CDS diagnosis system also enables reading out the signal change.

Cam track actual value switch (Z035)

Adjust the switch so that it can be pushed in by 5 mm max. The signal change (O-I) can be read out using the CDS diagnosis system. (For function check see sequence diagram).
