Hydraulic source Removing the priority block Make sure that the tractor is securely immobilised.

– Drain the rear axle.

– Remove the right-hand rear wheel.

– Disconnect the pipes and wiring harnesses from the solenoid valves and switches.

Note: On tractors with trailer braking, remove the unit (A) without disconnecting the hose from the trailer brake coupling. This precaution will avoid having to bleed the trailer brake control system on refitting.

– Loosen screws (C) to remove the priority unit(s).

– To remove the 24-bar safety valve (A) (Fig. 10) from the low-pressure circuit, compress spring (B) with a screwdriver and remove circlip .

– Remove components (C) to (E). Check that valve (E) slides freely in its housing.

Hydraulic source Removing the 5 bar safety valve – Remove the O-ring placed inside the valve.

– Slightly heat the valve body (1).

– Unscrew the valve using the specific tool N°00 1133 549 0.

– Clean and check the valve seat inside the cover.

Refit the 5 bar safety valve – Smear the valve threading with Loctite (243).

– Refit the valve using the specific tool N°00 1133 549 0.

– Tighten to 2 daN·m.

– Position the O-ring inside the valve.

Changing the gaskets on the variable displacement pump

– Remove the right-hand cover (A).

– Remove the pump (B) with the pinion.

– Unscrew the nut (D). Remove washer (E). Use an appropriate puller to remove the gear (C). Retrieve the key (F).

– Replace the three O-rings (G) to (I).

Hydraulic source Refitting the variable displacement pump – Clean the parts. Replace any defective parts. Make sure that the cover lines are not blocked.

– Check that the two locating pins (A) are present.

Note: Inside the cover, apply a thin bead of Loctite Formajoint (510) or an equivalent product around the holes for the pump attachment screws (B).

A

– Replace the pump. Tighten the screws , coated with Loctite (243), to 8 ± 1 daN·m.

Important: Fill pump with transmission oil through port (C).

Note: Repeat the hydraulic tests whenever the pump is replaced.

Note: Check for rivets on the lines on the outer and inner faces of the cover. Also ensure that the plugs are fitted.

– Replace all removed gaskets.

– Clean the housing and cover gasket faces.

– Check that the two pins (A) are present.

– Fit pipes (D) and (F), (Fig. 9).

– Coat the housing gasket face with Loctite Formajoint (510). Position the guide studs (B), (Fig. 9).

– Refit the cover (H). Coat the screws with Loctite (243) and tighten to 8 ± 1 daN·m.

Note: If resistance is felt on tightening, do not continue. Separate the cover from the housing and check the positioning of tube (D) of 5-bar valve (Fig. 9). Also turn the pump driving pinion.

Refitting the priority block – Tighten screws (I) coated with Loctite (243) to a torque of 2 to 3 daN·m.

– Check the seals on the gasket face and the hydraulic connections.

– Drain the rear axle.

– Remove the left rear wheel.

– Remove the main tank.

– Perform the refitting operations on the lifting valve (See section "E3").

Note: Screw (E) is only accessible once the bowl (B) and strainer have been removed.

– Unscrew the bowl (B). Remove the strainer.

– Remove screws (C), (D), (E).

– Remove the cover (A) and then the intake manifold (I).

– Clean the housing and cover gasket faces. Smear the casing's parting surface with Loctite (510).

– Replace all removed O-rings.

– Coat the flat gasket surface (H) on the intake manifold (I) with silicone (resistance to hydrocarbons). Slide the gasket onto the studs (G) with the adhesive face on the cover side.

– Screw two diametrically opposed locating studs (F) into the intermediate housing to refit the cover.

– Check that the two centring pins (K) are present.

– Remove the locating studs (F).

– Fit screws (C) and (E) uniformly and alternately to a torque of 9 to 12 daN·m.

Note: If resistance is felt on tightening, separate the cover from the housing and check the positioning of tube (I) with the pump. Also turn the pump driving pinion.

– Remove screws (D) and the pump (C). If necessary, remove the pump gear (A). Retrieve the key (B).

– Clean the pump and cover bearing surfaces.

– Check that the studs (H) are present.

– Inside the cover, apply a bead (A) of Loctite Formajoint (J) around the screw holes. The bead must be thin so that it does not reach the groove of the gasket (K).

Fit a new gasket.

– If removed, position the key (B) and refit the pinion.

Smear the gear nut with Loctite (243) and tighten it at a torque of 6 daN.m (Fig. 21).

– Position the pump on the centring studs (H).

– Coat the screw (D) with Loctite (243) and tighten between 4 and 5 daN·m (Fig. 21).

– Check pump rotation by hand.

– Refit the left-hand cover.

Hydraulic source Replacement of pump seals – Remove the left-hand cover and the pump.

Pump removal

A

– Clamp the pump in a vice fitted with plastic jaws.

– Remove screws (A) and the cover.

– Remove circlip (B), gasket (C) and O-rings (D) and (E).

Refitting the pump – Lubricate the gasket (C) and fit it using an appropriate jig. Refit the circlip (B).

– Coat O-rings (E) and (D) with miscible grease and position them on the cover.

– Position the cover. Fit and tighten screws (A) to a torque of 3 to 4 daN·m.

– Lubricate the pump through the suction port.

Refitting the lifting valve Note: Always change the O-rings of the (4), (5), (6) holes on each face of the lift valve.

Note: The lift valve (1) is the last valve removed from the tie-rods (2) fastened to the supply plate (3).

– Remove the tractor lifting rams.

– Remove the supply fitting.

– Using a screwdriver inserted through the hole (3), remove the pin (4) from its groove and pull it out towards (5).

– When the retaining ring (4) is in groove (6), pull the ram rod.

Warning: The ram rod is no longer stopped at the end of the stroke. Take care not to let it come out of the tube !

– Always change the gaskets and the pin.

– Refit the plastic bushing (2), then the metal gasket (1) into the ram body.

Auxiliary spool valves Removing the spool valve block – Disconnect the connectors (A) arriving from the harness (B) connected to the solenoid valves at the back of the cab.

– Unscrew the screw-nut assembly (C) fastening the valve.

– Remove the valve (D).

– Remove its bracket (E) by unscrewing the screws (F).

Note: The valve and bracket are present only when the tractor has a front lifting and/or pneumatic braking on trailer brakes. Plan something to absorb the oil which will flow when untightening the hydraulic hoses and pipes, as well as a container under the tractor. Use plugs on the hoses and pipes, as well as on the holes in the unit.

– Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and pipes arriving on the valve block while marking them (color code or other).

– Remove the 4 nuts (G). Disassemble the steering housing (I) from the holder (H). Beware not to lose the spacers and rubber bushes (J).

Note: On tractors, the unit can be removed without disconnecting the pipes, especially to adjust the service pressure.

– Check the surface condition of the compoents (spool, sleeve, body bores) before refitting.

– Fit the ring seal (22) onto the end of tool n° 60 0500 572 6.

– Oil the seal.

Preparation for overhauling the steering actuator Warning: The front axle must be raised on stands at the same time as the rear axle if the current operation requires the engine to be started up as the front axle remains engaged when stationary. There is therefore a risk of the tractor moving.

The tractor must be immobilised on flat, level ground.

– Apply the handbrake.

– Chock the rear wheels.

– Set the axle to the high position.

– Disconnect the battery.

– Block the tractor under the axle body using props.

– Shim the axle with wooden blocks under the chassis to maintain the front axle in the high position.

– Remove the front wheels.

– Shim the front axle to prevent ruddering.

– Refit in reverse order to removal while observing the following instructions.

– Engage the conical pivots (D) of the steering rod on the steering housing (E).

– Refit the jack while ensuring the centering pin (A) is present.

– Tighten the fastening nuts (F) of the steering rods at 15 daN·m.

– Coat the screws (B) lightly with Loctite (271) and tighten to 46-48 daN·m.

– Place the safety pin (G) and fold the safety rods.

– Smear the threaded part of the steering rods (C) with Loctite (271), and tighten them on the piston rods at 15 daN·m.
