The main pump flanged onto the RH plate of the rear axle, consists of 9 pistons (1) driven by a barrel (2) and sliding on a variable angle swashplate (3). It is the variation in the angle of the swashplate that changes the piston stroke and this alters the displacement. If pressure is zero, a

spring (4) pushes the swashplate to its maximum angle. A piston (5), set to oppose the spring, enables displacement to be reduced as a function of the pressure output from the regulator.

It must be possible to "control" the load detection signal from one or other of the users (steering, spool valves, etc.) in order to be able to send a single pressure signal to the pump regulator. This is the role of the circuit selectors.

– On start up, the pumped oil finds no outlet and its pressure rises and pushes against the 22 bar valve. In this case, without being used, the "XLS" signal is very low (about 6 bar).

When pump output pressure reaches 22 + 6 = 28 bar, the valve opens and feeds oil from "P" towards "A" to reduce pump displacement virtually to zero.

When the receiver is commanded, it returns a pressure signal (equal to output pressure) over "XLS". The spool is then pushed back to the left, the oil contained in (A) flows to the tank (T), and pump displacement and flow increase.

When the receiver reaches maximum stroke, the operating pressure increases. The spool (A) does not move. Above 170 bar, valve (B) moves progressively to the right, orifices (P) and (A) are linked and pump displacement reduces.

Calibrating lifting Calibration on Axion "Cebis" Perform the calibration preferably when the temperature of the transmission oil is close to 50°C. – Couple a 1 000 ± 100 kg load, which will not interfere with the full descent of rear lifting.

– Start the tractor on hard and flat ground, with handbrake tightened.

– Adjust the engine speed to 1 500 rev/min.

– Unlock the lifting and select the work mode.

– Adjust the lifting position setting knob between 7 and 8 or 70 and 80 on the "Cebis".

– Actuate promptly the damper control, 6 times in a row.

Lifting is locked, the damper indicator blinks, an information message displays on the "Cebis": "Calibrating rear lifting Id76C0h". Calibration starts. During calibration, the indicator indicates the code 43.

Electronic components External commands of "U55-1", "U55-2", "U56-1" and "U56-2" Pressing one of the "U55" and "U56" external commands allows obtaining a flow rate equivalent to 20 % of the maximum flow available on the "A59" solenoid valves. The solenoid valve shifts automatically to neutral after pressing for more than 20 seconds. The distributor chosen can be configured via the "Cebis".

Note: External controls override cab controls.

Safety solenoid valve "Y330" The hydraulic circuit is fitted with a safety solenoid valve designed to set up or interrupt the control pressure required for using the distributors. When powering off the "Y330" safety valve, the (HYD) module cuts the piloting pressure supply of the auxiliary distributors.

The safety solenoid valve is fitted with a 3 channel pressure reducer (2) which generates the (X) piloting pressure. The pressure must be between 21 and 24 bar.

Electronic components Protection If the "R76" line commands or the "Electropilot R75" cross command are not in the neutral position when activating the auxiliary hydraulic, they remain inoperative until returned to neutral. In this case, an error message is displayed on the "Cebis" terminal, a lock appears on the

distributor concerned, and the auxiliary hydraulic activation indicator blinks.

When internal and external commands are actuated simultaneously, the external commands override the internal commands to protect the operator outside the machine.

The electrohydraulic spool valves are fitted with backup controls (A) that enable an implement to be moved following an electrical supply failure. Operate control (A) of the spool valve concerned: – Moving the control upwards feeds fluid to the white pressure connector. The black connector is then the return line.

– Moving the control downwards feeds fluid to the black pressure connector. The white connector is then the return line.

Note: The pump can discharge 163 l/min maximum at nominal load at 60°C, but the flow rate available on an auxiliary distributor is 103 l/min.

– Open the tester valve to the maximum.

– Actuate the auxiliary distributor concerned.

– Measure the flow rate of the distributor according to the flow rate instruction indicated by the "Cebis".

Measurements and checks – Connect tester Nr.00 0178 320 0 to the hydraulic plugs of the "power beyond" as shown above.

– Connect the pressure gauge of kit Nr.00 0178 310 0 to the flow meter and the "9024" plug.

– Open the flow meter knob to maximum.

– Perform a hydraulic connection with a pressure gauge between the manifold and the "load sensing" plug of the "power beyond".

– Set the distributor concerned to maximum flow rate.

– Actuate the auxiliary manifold to send a "load sensing" signal to the variable displacement pump.

– Gradually close the knob of the flow meter while considering as setting the "load sensing" pressure on the pressure gauge (A).

– Record the pressure values.

– Adjust the fuel flow.

– See table below.

The connection consists in connecting the wire (G) from the tractor harness onto the left-hand plug of the head, and connecting the resistor (H) to the second connector of the head. Here, this connection must be made on the first manifold (left to right) as we checked the first valve (F) in Métadiag©. At that time, it is possible to validate the configuration of the head concerned. This operation must be repeated for each of the heads to configure.

Note: In any case, the one and only resistor (H) is located on the last manifold head.

– For example, if the tractor has 4 rear manifolds, the resistor is located on the 4th manifold.

Tractor fitted with manifolds on the axle shaft tubes (front "DEH") In this case, the supply of the front "DEH" is ensured by the cable (I) from the last rear "DEH". Therefore, the resistor (H) is located on the 2nd front "DEH" (on the axle shaft tube).

The hydraulic steering unit transmits energy from the hydraulic pump to the steering jack. According to the direction given to the steering column by the driver, the steering unit actuates the hydraulic jack in one direction or the other. Wheel alignment is adjusted with the wheels fitted to the tractor and resting on the ground. Measurements between wheel rims are made at the height of wheel horizontal axis, at the rim edge between the two points "X".

– Set the wheels straight.

– MEasure the dimension "A2" (between the same points "X").

– Adjust the rods "M" on the steering knuckles in order to obtain: 0

A1 = A2 – 2 mm Note: Dimensions "M" must be equal.

– Tighten the track rod locknuts to the recommended torque.

– Make a mark at these points.

– Measure "A1" between points "X".

– Move the tractor forward to turn the wheels by one half turn (front axle disengaged).

The "load sensing" steering units have an additional connection (LS) allowing, by means of a hydraulic signal, to inform the supply pump of the level of use of the steering. Should the steering's need increase, the supply pump can increase the flow.

These steering units have two rotor/stator sets. In normal operation, the two rotor/stator sets run together. If a problem occurs on the level of the oil supply of the steering unit, only one rotor/stator set remains active to provide emergency running.

The pressure restricter (7026) limits the supply pressure of the steering unit at a value between 170 to 175 bars.

The dual shock valves (7153) on the steering unit protect the hydraulic circuit. If a major shock interferes with the orientation of the steering wheels, pressure may increase suddenly in one of the jack chambers. This excess pressure is then neutralized by the dual shock valves (7153), which force the oil back into the tank.

If the steering wheel is left untouched, the oil flows freely in a closed circuit (pink) inside the steering unit. Any outside force acting on the steering wheels results in a corresponding move of the wheels.
