This operator's manual is the original operator's manual. It is simply referred to as the operator's manual in the following text.

This operator's manual is intended for all users, and provides information about the use, operation, adjustment, maintenance, cleaning and transportation of the machine.

Provided all instructions regarding proper maintenance and operation of your machine are followed, you can count on many years of reliable service.

Omitted maintenance items or erroneous operation will result in an increased safety risk, premature wear, reduced performance, less revenue and loss of time.

Have the post harvest check regularly /annual check carried out by your specialist CLAAS workshop at regular intervals. A combination of the prescribed maintenance operations and the post harvest check is recommended.

If you use the latest expertise and years of experience that went into this machine, it will render you consistently excellent service.

There is a separate operator's manual for front attachments and hitched devices.

– Loosen the lock collar on the bearing (2). To do this, loosen the eccentric ring in the opposite direction to the rotation of the shaft.

– Unscrew bearing (2).

– If required, jack up the machine and remove the right drive wheel. See Removing wheels.

– Fit the lock collar bearing. To do this, sand and lightly oil the shaft.

Tighten the rear sheet metal flange, the lock collar bearing and the front sheet metal flange.

Fasten the eccentric ring moderately in the direction of rotation of the shaft and lock using a set screw.

– Connect the returns chain using a chain-connect link. Secure chain connector (1) with a new locking wire.

– Screw on the clamp (1).

– Pull on the rubber connecting sleeve (4).

– Adjust belt (8).

– Adjust the returns elevator chain.

– Adjust the chain (K57).

Fitting the threshing drum variable-speed drive (spring-loaded) – Suspend the variable-speed drive in a suitable lifting device using a lifting strap.

The weight of the threshing drum variable-speed drive (spring-loaded) is approx. 50 kg.

– Lightly oil the clean shaft and slide the variablespeed drive onto the shaft.

– If required, fit the right drive wheel to the machine.

Tighten the rear sheet metal flange, the lock collar bearing and the front metal flange.

Fasten the eccentric ring moderately in the direction of the rotation of the shaft and lock using a set screw.

– Connect the returns chain using a chain-connect link. Secure chain connector (1) with a new locking wire.

– Screw on the clamp (1).

– Pull on the rubber connecting sleeve (4).

– Adjust belt (8).

– Adjust the returns elevator chain.

– Pull on the rubber connecting sleeve (1).

For threshing crops that are particularly easy to break down, a chain drive can be fitted instead of the threshing drum variable-speed drive. By changing the chain wheels (A) and (B), three (four, additional equipment) speeds can be set.

The adjustment of the speed along with the adjustment of the threshing concave allows the machine to adapt to crops that are particularly dry and easy to break down.
