Initiate auxiliary functions

WARNING

Mine safety procedures in regards to shield movement MUST be observed.

The main shield functions have their own PMC-R key assigned to them, however there are not enough keys for all the functions on the Shields, so the additional functions are accessed using this menu.

When the adjacent shield is selected using or keys the display shows the “Auxiliary Functions” menu (This means that individual leg operation or Baselift control can

be quickly and easily made by operators at any time, by pressing the or keys).

All possible operations are listed below.

Pressing the key extends the baselift cylinder.

Pressing the key operates the front AFC ram cylinder, which pushes the front AFC across.

Pressing the key energises the high pressure set solenoid.

RCP Main ON OFF 3 leg (version 2). Shields 150 - 154 only.

Pressing the key retracts the Forepole. Pressing the key extends the Forepole.

Run of Face & MG Butress 4-leg Shields only.

Pressing the key retracts the Goaf seal. Pressing the key retracts the Canopy seal.

Pressing the extends the front flipper. Pressing the key retracts the front flipper.

3-leg (version 1 & 3). Shields 3-5 & 155-158 only.

Pressing the extends the rear caving flipper. Pressing the key retracts the rear caving flipper.

Run of Face and 3-leg shields only

Pressing the key energises the shearer water curtain spray mounted under the canopy tip.

Pressing the key extends the Underframe Cylinder on the MG Driveframe.

Pressing the key retracts the Underframe Cylinder on the MG driveframe.

1-6 Shield only

Pressing the key cancels the rear AFC advance, which pulls the rear AFC across in the Maingate area. Pressing the key operates the rear AFC advance, which pulls the rear AFC across in the Maingate area. (RCP Solid Main + RCP Snake)
