GENERAL DESCRIPTION FVW100 The FVW100 system has been designed and developed to pressurize enclosures at dusty locations.

This may be to protect internal componentry such as electronics or for human occupational health and hygiene.

It will: • • • • •

Provide high static capability by nature of series fans.

Provide high air flow even though filter may be heavily loaded.

Help to overcome problems with leaky cabs without expensive rebuild programs.

Greatly reduce maintenance requirements by being automatic cleaning by reverse air pulse.

Protect personnel from exposure brought about by cleaning filter elements manually.

OPERATION When the control circuit is closed, both fans will operate. This draws air through the filter element.

The power also supplies the timing modules TDR2 (KRDR) and TDR1 (KRDM). After a pre-set time delay T2 (factory set 2 hrs.) the fans will stop for OFF delay, (factory set around 1min.). After this delay the solenoid valve on T1 will open, admitting compressed air into the clean air side of the filter. This back flushes the filter and removes a lot of dusts.

On completion of the purge cycle, the fans start up again.

INSTALLATION The system is a stand-alone device and it should be positioned mounted vertically with the spigot out the top, and open base on the bottom.

Access for service is required out the top and the side. It is not a heavy device and could also be removed for service if required.

A supply line has to be run from a power source and we suggest one that is interlocked with the ignition switch or other control device to prevent batteries from being drained when the engine is not running. A ground cable is also required.

Operation is controlled from the cab and the switching could be interlocked with the existing air conditioner, or a manual switch.

Also required will be the supply line to the cab and a compressed air source ideally between 60-110 psi. We do have an automatic draining oil, water and particulate filter, but a pre-filtered supply will be better for the system.

Once a position is found, the studded mounting bars can be welded to the machine, and pressurizer mounted in position.

Run ducting to point of cab entry. (We suggest the best ducting for site set up and fabrication to suit is manufactured by Donaldson).

Run electrical wiring and protect against mechanical damage.

NOTE:

The filter has been set up for NEGATIVE GROUND.

The base should not be mounted above where personnel are likely to be ‘dusted’ on clean cycle.

PLEASE DO NOT WELD OR DRILL ANY ROPS OR FOPS STRUCTURES WITHOUT APPROVAL OF MACHINE OWNER.

COMMISSIONING With the exception of clean frequency on T2 (fan run time), no other adjustments should be made. The filter is a large surface area and due to fans in series the performance does not degrade significantly with dust loading.

T1 should be set by a combination of field experience and duty cycle of the machine. The system is factory set at approximately 2 hrs. If the working environment is extremely dusty, the time can be reduced.

If a machine will only run for 2 hours, the time should also be reduced.

Note that every time the ignition is turned off, the device starts from zero again and at least one clean cycle should occur. A manual purge button is also provided and we suggest turning fans off.

With engine running and power supplied to the filter check operation of fans.

If the system is dead, check: • • • •

Polarity, Grounding.

Control Fuse 3A. Where continuity is lost and repair.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MAIN RELAY IS POLARITY SENSITIVE ACROSS CONTROL TERMINALS.

SERVICE First Day

• Remove top cover and check for abnormalities and malfunction.

Every PM

• Check operation.

• Test purge cycle.

• Lift cover and check for abnormalities.

Every 6 Months or 2000 Hrs.

• Change motor brushes, blow out motor.

Annually

• Change motors.

• Change filter.

• Change main relay - but beware of polarity connection.

2 Years

• As above but also compressed air filter.
