1.Introduction

1.1 Foreword  This handbook gives you the information you need for the use and maintenance of your TF front snow cutter-blower. The right working and the TF front snow cutter-blower endurance will depend on the good maintenance and the attention to its utilisation.  Builder and your dealer are at your disposal for any information concerning the TF front snow cutter-blower running; moreover, they supply the original spare parts in order to assure that they perfectly fit in case of replacement.  Before leaving the factory, this particular model has gone through a strict test in order to guarantee the best reliability  Builder reserves itself the right to introduce changes to the described model for technical or commercial reasons at any moment. 

The subjects dealt in this manual are those expressly required by the “CEE 2006/42 MACHINE DIRECTIVE” and its further changes.



For any information from manufacturer or dealer always quote the data written on the machine identification plate (Fig. 1-1).

Note: The manual with all enclosures must be supplied together with the TF front snow cutter-blower if sold.

1.Introduction

1.2 Conditions and limitations  All equipment’s have been accurately tested and are covered by a 12 months, or following our agreements, guarantee for manufacturing faults. The guarantee begins from the date of the purchase pointed out on the fiscal document when the TF front snow cutter-blower is delivered by the dealer or the manufacturer.  The guarantee is invalidated when the TF front snow cutter-blower has been repaired by not authorised third parties or when equipment’s or accessories not supplied by the builder or not recommended or approved by the same are utilised, or if there is the removal or the alteration of the serial number during the guarantee period. 

Builder pledges itself to repair or to replace gratuitously the parts having manufacturing faults by the guarantee period. The repair is performed exclusively with carriage paid (the user has to pay any carriage expenses, different agreement excepted) at our seat or at the technical service centre we point you out.



The guarantee does not include the possible cleaning of the working machine members.



Faults that cannot be clearly imputed to the matter or to the manufacture will be checked by the technical service centre we point you out. If the claim turns out not be justified, any repair and/or parts replacement charges will be debited to the purchaser.



The purchase fiscal document has to be shown to the technical staff carrying out the repair, or has to be sent together with the TF front snow cutter-blower which has to be mended.

 Fortuitous damages for transport, neglect, inadequate treatment and improper use, that does not comply with the information written on this handbook, and for events independent from the ordinary working or utilisation of the TF front snow cutter-blower are in any case excluded from the guarantee. Also they excluded from the guarantee materials and consumable parts and work for replacing them.  Builder declines any responsibility for possible damages to people or things caused by a wrong utilisation or an imperfect use of the TF front snow cutter-blower.

1.3 About this manual This manual contains safety precautions, instructions on installation, operation and maintenance. Do not use or move the TF front snow cutter-blower before having read and understood all the instructions, procedures and cautions described in this handbook. Some illustrations in this manual show parts or accessories that may be different from the parts in your machine. Protections and covers may have been removed to make the illustrations clear. Ongoing improvements and developments in the product may have led to slight modifications to the TF front snow cutter-blower which are not included in this manual. Please read, study and keep this manual on hand at all times.

Should any problems arise with the TF cutter-blower, or if further clarification of the contents of this manual is needed, consult the manufacturer or the dealer nearest you to obtain the most current information.

2.1 General Failure to comply with regulations or basic safety precautions could lead to accidents during operation, maintenance and repair of the TF front snow cutter-blower. Being aware of potentially dangerous situations can often prevent an accident before it happens.

The operator must pay attention to potential hazards and possess the training, competence and tools required for performing his duties correctly.

Improper use of the TF front snow cutter-blower during operation or maintenance may result in damage and cause serious accidents.

Never operate the TF front snow cutter-blower or carry out maintenance until these instructions have been read and fully understood.

Safety precautions and warnings are indicated in this manual and on the product. If these danger warnings are not observed, the operator may run the risk of accident with grave consequences for himself and others.

The builder cannot foresee every circumstance representing a potential hazard.

The warnings in this publication and on the product are therefore not exhaustive. Should tools, procedures, working methods or operating techniques be used that are not explicitly recommended by builder, make sure that they do not present hazards for the operator or others.

The information, specifications and illustrations in this manual are based on information available at the time of publication.

It goes without saying that the following aspects must also be observed:  the relevant regulations for the prevention of accidents;  general safety rules;  country-specific conditions;  the chassis manufacturer’s operating manual;  the operating manual by the manufacturers of other components;

2.Safety 2.2 General warnings The warnings below can’t prevent all hazards that may be encountered while using the TF front snow cutter-blower; they should be added with good judgement and the experience of the operator, both essential measures for preventing accidents.  Read this manual before operating the TF front snow cutter-blower. If there are doubts about any of the instructions, contact the dealer or manufacturer immediately.  If the manual is damaged or lost, request another from the dealer. Remember to give the serial number and type of spreader.  Structural damage, modifications, or incorrect repairs can affect the TF front snow cutter-blower’s safety, therefore voiding the certificate. All modifications should be carried out exclusively by builder authorised technicians  Do not wear loose clothing or protruding elements that can become caught. Where required, (working at heights, exposure to noise, contact with toxic substances, etc.), obtain the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).  Keep the TF front snow cutter-blower free of foreign materials such as debris, oil, tools and other objects that could affect operation and cause damage to the operator.  Before activating the TF front snow cutter-blower, make sure that no people or animals are within range.  Know the width of the TF front snow cutter-blower to keep the correct distance when working close to obstacles. 

Engage the hydraulic system , with the TF front snow cutter-blower stopped.

 Before using the TF front snow cutter-blower, make sure that the protections, if any, are active.  Do not stay within range of the TF front snow cutter-blower stopped. 

 Oil and very hot components can cause burns; avoid to contact the skin 

Make sure all safety devices and security are present, intact and working before operating the machine.

 Never incinerate or dispose of mineral oils, fuels, filters, seals into the environment. Deliver them to special collection centres. 

In the event of loss of hydraulic oil or other pollutants, depose the basins and if possible, dispose of any waste collected according to the law or the laws in force in respect of the environment.

 Perform all regulations with the hydraulic system disconnected and the electrical power off.  Relieve the pressure in all hydraulic circuits before disconnecting or removing any piping, pipefitting or related items.  Fix the equipment to the vehicle as indicated.  Never climb onto the TF front snow cutter-blower.

If foreign matter jams the milling group, make sure the vehicle’s hydraulic system is disconnected and the auxiliary engine is off before freeing it.

 If the safety protections are to be removed to make repairs, make sure that the wheel loader hydraulic system is disconnected. After performing the procedure, reposition the safety protections. 

Before leaving the vehicle or carrying out maintenance perform the following operations, except where otherwise specified: • • • • • • • •

park the vehicle on flat ground; place the TF front snow cutter-blower on the ground; set the controls in idle position; disengage the PTO; engage the parking brake; stop the auxiliary engine of the TF front snow cutter-blower; stop the motor engine; remove the ignition switch key from the panel .

The safety notes are accompanied by symbols which indicate at a glance that there is an element of danger involved.

2.Safety

2.5 Intended use The TF front snow cutter-blower has been designed, manufactured and protected exclusively for opening roads, squares, alpine passes under heavy snow conditions. It can be used also in side enlargements and in snow loads on trucks (equipping it with the specific loading chimney).

Any other application and the use of any other equipment are defined as improper use. The owner bears sole liability for damages resulting from any such improper use.

Proper use also involves adhering to the use to the rules for:  safety  operation  maintenance which are described in this operating manual.

The manufacturer is not liable for any damage resulting from un authorized changes made to TF front snow cutter-blower and components supplied by manufacturer., which would render the manufacturer’s warranty invalid.

Attention!

Only use genuine spare parts.

2.6 Improper use Use of the TF front snow cutter-blower entails a risk factor when:  the TF front snow cutter-blower is incorrectly operated or used for the wrong purpose by personnel who have not been trained or instructed as to its proper use;  the TF front snow cutter-blower is used for a purpose other than that specified by the manufacturer;  the safety instructions in this operating manual are not followed.

2.Safety 2.7 Obligations and notes to the company responsible for the TF front snow cutter-blower This operating manual forms an integral part of the TF front snow cutter-blower. As responsible for the TF front snow cutter-blower you must make sure that your operating personnel are informed about these instructions. Disregard of the operating manual relieves the manufacturer from all liability.

As responsible for the TF front snow cutter-blower you are obliged to instruct your staff as to the safe and proper operation, repair, maintenance and use of the equipment. This is essential to avoid any risk to the operator’s personnel’s health or any other safety hazard.

Before commissioning the TF font snow cutter-blower the company responsible for it must check that the equipment is in proper working order, paying particular attention to the safety devices.

Check that your staff are able to operate the equipment properly and safely.

3.1 Visual inspection  For your safety and to guarantee maximum duration of the TF front snow cutter-blower, it is good practice to inspect the equipment before installing it on the wheel loader. 

Make sure that the front snow cutter-blower and its levers are not damaged or excessively worn.



Manually check the rotation of the rollers.



Check the state of wear of the rollers.



Check and replace the scraping edges if worn.



Check the presence of loose or worn wires.

 Make sure the motor connection is intact. 

Check for any leaks on the hydraulic system.



Make sure that the protection devices are welded in the correct position and that they are not damaged.



Tighten any loose bolt.



Inform the maintenance manager about any failure detected.



Remove the mechanical stops.

3.2 TF front snow cutter-blower to wheel loader.

Danger!

When connecting and disconnecting the equipment, make sure no one stands within the range of action of the wheel loader and front snow cutter-blower. o Check that the hydraulic hoses, the quick couplings and electrical connections that are free from defects or failures, otherwise before mounting repair them immediately. o Lower the front plate (Fig.1-3A); o Move the wheel loader to the front plate of front snow cutter-blower keeping aligned. (Fig.1-3); o Check that the hydraulic system of front snow cutter-blower and the wheel loader are without pressure, otherwise is necessary discharge pressure, then proceed to the hydraulic and electrical connection. o Lift the plate of wheel loader so a sto allow the two plates to come in contact (Fig.2-3); o Push the appropriate button for coming out the fixing pin (Fig.3-3B) that are on the plate of wheel loader; o Check that all functions are operating, and that there aren’t oil leaks, if they are present immediately release the front snow cutter-blower to the ground and to have it repaired.

3.3 TF front snow cutter-blower disconnection to wheel loader

Danger!

When connecting and disconnecting the equipment, make sure no one stands within the range of action of the wheel loader and front snow cutter-blower. o Choose a flat area. o

Push the appropriate button for retract the fixing pin (Fig.4-3B) that are on the plate of wheel loader;

o Leave go down the equipment by pressing the FLOATING command; o When the front snow cutter-blower is safely leaning on the ground, completely lower the plate (Fig.5-3 A) of wheel loader so as to make the two plates free; o After having lowered the hydraulic oil pressure from system, disconnect couplings both hydraulic and electrical and protect it with the appropriate caps; o Make the reverse with the wheel loader at very low speed (Fig.6-3).

3.4 TF front snow cutter-blower hydraulic connections For using the front snow cutter-blower, wheel loader must have seven quick coupling.

To simplify the hydraulic connection of the TF front snow cutter-blower, the hydraulic pipes on the TF front snow cutter-blower have been marked with different colours.

To correctly perform a hydraulic connection, refer to table and at the picture 7-3: COLOR

3.Work before Operation 3.5 Adjusting the support shoes The front snow cutter-blower is equipped with a pair of support shoes to lighten the pressure on the blade, reducing consumption and maintaining the front snow cutter-blower in the correct work position.

Follow the instructions below to adjust the inclination of the front snow cutter-blower support shoes: o

Lift the front snow cutter-blower;

o Remove the pin (A) with the relative split pin; o

Adjust the height of the shoes to allow the blade to stay at least 10 mm from the ground;

o Insert the pin (A) with the relative split pin before removed; o

Take the front snow cutter-blower back to work position.

Danger!

Work only with the vehicle hydraulic system disengaged, wheel loader off (only for versions equipped with auxiliary engine) and electrical connection disconnected.

4.Spreading operation 4.1 Preliminary checks

Caution!

The TF front snow cutter-blower must only be used by trained personnel with proven experience.

Remember that caution is the only way of preventing accidents.

Before using the TF front snow cutter-blower, you must read and understand the instructions and warnings contained in this manual.

Moreover, you must know the operation of the TF frontal snow cutter blower and of the wheel loader, the spaces available for manoeuvres, and their use limits. 

Once you have conneted the TF front snow cutter-blower, before starting operations on road, start the wheel loader and check all the movements.



Perform some manoeuvres with motor off in order to be familiar with the various controls.



Check that the movements of the levers in the cab are coherent with the movements of the TF front snow cutter blower.

 Check the seal of the hydraulic system; 

Make sure that the milling drums do not have frozen parts. In this event, beat the drums until the ice is removed.



Make sure that the chute is not clogged.

Caution!

Make sure no one stands within the range of action of the TF snow cutter blower when performing these operations.  Check the presence of wear on the scraping edges and replace them if required.  Make sure the TF front snow cutter blower connection is intact  Tighten any loose bolt. 

Inform the maintenance manager about any failure detected.

Caution!

The front snow cutter-blower must not run if all its parts are not perfectly efficient.

Working under unstable conditions may damage the TF front snow cutter blower and put the persons at risk. .

4.2 Road displacement 

Turn the discharge chute by 90° to the left of the travel direction;

 Turn the chute downwards;  Lift the TF front snow cutter-blower completely;  Switch the engine wheel loader off and engage the handbrake;  Clean the residues of snow from the frontal snow cutter-blower if required; 

If you drive the vehicle for the first time, make sure that the ballast, if provided, is available in the indicated place;

 If prescribed, place the appropriate panels indicating dangerous projections; 

To increase adherence to the ground, we recommend assembling the chains on the four wheels;

 Moreover, remember that the orange flashing light must always be active and that the maximum speed allowed in Italy is 40 Km/h, unless otherwise specified in the registration certificate.  Carefully read all the provisions indicated in the registration certificate.

Caution!

When driving to another place, comply with the speed restrictions established by the manufacturer of the carrier wheel loader. Pay attention to the width and length of the wheel loader, increased curve radius, increased axial load, and to the largest launch and limited visual angle due to the mounted machine.

Danger!

Remember to turn on the wide load lights, warning systems, preferably use low gears and do not exceed the speed limits of the highway code.

Danger!

Do not stand within the range of action of the TF front snow cutter blower and always keep a safety distance.

Danger!

Do not stand within the range of action of the snow jet.

Danger!

Never leave the wheel loader unattended while the milling drums are running.

During the work phase, the operators must stay on the seats in the driver's cab.

The clearance speed must be adapted to specific conditions.

Danger!

The snow jet coming from the high speed channel can be dangerous for people, animals, and objects.

Pay the utmost attention when you rotate the channel and when you work in a team.

Note: When working in the presence of high snow, the curve mobility is affected.

Moreover, keep in mind that the clean area behind the front snow cutter-blower is slippery and that the front axis can be unloaded when the front snow cutter-blower is pressed on the road surface. Snow chains must be applied to the four wheels of the carrier wheel loader, except when removing snow sludge from the roads.

Take the TF front snow cutter-blower to the ground by shifting the lifting lever to neutral.

 Adjust the height of the shoes to allow the blade to stay at least 10 mm from the ground. 

Move the discharge chute to the required direction to unload the snow.

Danger!

Before choosing the discharge direction, make sure that no person or object stands in the vicinity as they can be invested by a snow jet.

Remember that on average the front snow cutter-blower makes a launch of 15m - 30m and that sharp objects can be mixed with snow.

Danger!

Pay attention when you adjust the deflector of the chute as the jet may injure persons or damage objects, therefore, never direct the jet towards persons or objects.

• Deflector door raised: snow is discharged far away from the wheel loader; •

Deflector door lowered: snow is discharged close to the vehicle.

4.Spreading operation 4.3.1 Starting the milling drums

Danger!

Before starting the rollers, make sure that no one is found in their vicinity. Make sure that unauthorised personnel cannot access the area.

Caution!

Manually check that the wheels are free to rotate despite the presence of ice and other foreign bodies.

Activations with blocked rollers may damage the transmission. 

Slowly accelerate until you reach 1500 rpm and make the front snow cutter-blower rotate for a couple of minutes.



Slow the engine speed down to the minimum.

4.Spreading operation 4.3.2 Marking the pathway Failure to mark the pathway may damage or wear the rollers and blade, increase the time required to complete the work, or it can mean the partial or non-opening of the road. Moreover, it may be a source of danger for the operator.

Prevent conditions that may tilt the vehicle. Moreover, avoid working on significant slopes, close to cliffs, ledges or areas subject to landslides, climbing on snow drifts with the motor, or other similar conditions.

The operator, therefore, must know the work area well and the pathway must have been previously marked with stakes and flags(Fig.2-4).

Check in advance the pathway and make sure it is fully marked.

Otherwise, use specific snow sensors and have authorized and qualified personnel on site. .

4.3.3 Operating techniques required for clearing Measures to be taken when using these types of fronts snow cutters-blowers during some of the most frequent situations are provided below.

We will start by describing simple situations and we will conclude with the most difficult ones.

The recommendations provided for a certain situation are valid for all the situations, even the most difficult ones.

This manual provides only guidelines, therefore, the operator, relying on his ability and experience, is responsible for completing the operations successfully and preventing accidents.

4.4 Clearing the road This is the easiest condition. The snow depth is lower than the roller diameter. Under these conditions, the wheels are in contact with the ground.

Caution!

Given the danger involved when working with the TF front snow cutter blower, make sure that the truck and sweeper unit work regularly and efficiently before starting the operations.

Make sure that the work area is free from unauthorised people and that no one stands within the range of action of the TF front snow cutter blower (Fig.3-4).

In the event clearing operations must take place in crowded areas, the work area must be marked by personnel on the ground provided with suitable signalling.

Accept signals only by authorised personnel.

Engage low gears.

Engage the all-wheel drive.

Take the TF front snow cutter-blower to the maximum number of revs Set the TF front snow cutter-blower to floating position Engage the most suitable gear according to the type and amount of snow, gradually tackling the snow layer and keeping a constant travelling speed In the event the front snow cutter-blower climbs on the snow instead of grinding it, creating a ramp effect, move backwards with the wheel loader and proceed working on flat ground. In the event this procedure fails to solve the problem, press the blade on the ground using the pistons of the lifting system until you create a horizontal surface. At this point, set the TF front snow cutter-blower to floating mode (Fig.4-4).

4.Spreading operation Avoid creating oscillations or steps as much as is possible. In these events, always move backwards and proceed working on flat ground.

Take into consideration the minimum turning radius of the motor before approaching hairpin turns.

In the event the curve cannot be made all at once, move by sections, i.e. move forwards and backwards, advancing little by little (Fig.5-4).

During clearing operations, pay attention to foreign bodies that may be found in the snow and remove them manually.

Caution!

Snowslides coming from rocks or material mixed with snow cannot be cleared directly with the front snow cutter-blower but must be cleared by other means. The presence of stones, large branches, etc. may damage the rollers.  To clear unpaved roads adjust the shoes to allow the blade to stay as high as possible compared to the ground, avoiding touching the stony ground. The layer of snow that remains on the road is compacted by the passage of the front snow cutter-blower, therefore, it can be crossed only by using chains.

4.Spreading operation 4.5 Clearing operations under floating conditions This condition occurs when the snow layer considerably exceeds the roller diameter.

In this event, climb on the "floating" snow layer and work by subsequent passages.

You can "float" in the following cases: 1- Clearing the snowpack; 2- Clearing trenches; 3- Clearing across a mountainside.

4.5.1 Clearing a snowpack (Fig.6-4)

It may occur that the road is blocked by a snowpack due to a snowslide or landslide. In these events, take the following measures.  Make sure that the consistency of the snow layer can withstand the weight of the TF front snow cutter-blower. An empiric system for that control consists in covering the pathway by foot, as the specific ground pressure on the front snow cutter-blower is approximately equivalent to that of the person.  Check the longitudinal slope of the snowpack area (max. 30%). If required, move forward directing the chutes to the front in order to make a fill area and stay within the minimum limit compatible with the characteristics of the whell loader. Remember that adherence conditions are always precarious.  Gradually tackle the slope keeping a passing depth equal to 3/4 of the max. diameter of the sweeper rollers.  Continuously adjust the height of the TF front snow cutter-blower to prevent the rollers from creating steps.

Remove the shoes if the problem persists.

A stepped profile requires increased traction force compared to a gradual profile, therefore, slopes are more difficult to tackle.

 Always create a horizontal work ground. In the event the TF front snow cutter-blower inclines on one side, go back and proceed working on a flat ground.  Stop on the top of the snowpack as soon as the front snow cutter-blower is discharged and do not move forward. It is important that the snowpack top is cleared. Do not sweep downhill once you have reached the top of the snowpack. This way, the forward thrust will be added to the weight of the wheel loader and it will be difficult to go back with the reverse gear (Fig.8-4).

 After the first passage and once you have reached the top of the snowpack, go back to the starting point and repeat all the operations until the front snow cutter-blower is discharged. Then go back and continue the work cycle until the snow is fully cleared.

If the last passage is made on a paved road the TF front snow cutter-blower must be set in floating mode.

4.Spreading operation 4.5.1 Clearing trenches It consists of a very thick snow layer located parallel to the ground. It is typical of roads bordered by the slopes of the mountains or tall trees.

The rules applied to the types of clearing already illustrated are valid, moreover:  You must know the exact location of the road and height of the snow to be removed (this value can be detected from the positions and height of the signalling stakes).  Start the operations by calculating a clearing width sufficient to allow the residual mass of snow to have a foot support at the end of the operations, in order to prevent it from collapsing. Under these conditions, the front snow cutter-blower makes a snow cover of the "cuts" which may generate snowslides, especially if the operations take place during the spring. Therefore, have suitable emergency equipment available on the work site.

 Proceed with the subsequent passages according to the above-mentioned technique.  Direct the chute downstream as the snow blown upstream may collapse on the road.

When the sides of the trenches are too high to be overtaken with the launch, direct the jet to the front and collect it with the front snow cutter-blower, as many times as required, in order to reach an area where side discharge is allowed.  The front snow cutter-blower must be on flat ground when working, therefore special attention must be paid to the side set-up of the vehicle; immediately correct any side leaning, resuming the operation from a precise point. The side inclination of the vehicle causes a load transfer to the wheels which is from where the leaning occurs. Consequently, the capability of the wheels to penetrate in the snow is increased thus enhancing the manoeuvre error (Fig.10-4).

4.Spreading operation  Always remember that operations are made on an inconsistent ground and under poor adherence conditions. Therefore, the manoeuvres must be performed gradually to prevent the vehicle from stalling.

4.5.3 Clearing across a mountainside (Fig.11-4)

This is the most difficult operation.

It consists of a very thick snow layer with a considerable inclination compared to the road profile.

This configuration is typical of the Alpine passes.

The rules applied to the previous techniques are valid also in this case.  Consider a large foot support for the upstream snow mass in order to prevent it from collapsing.  The personnel's safety is extremely important. Do not modify the transversal stability of wheel loader when working on inclined grounds. Always work on horizontal ground (Fig.12-4).

 Make sure that the cut does not cause detachment of snow and consequent avalanches (both for the downstream side and upstream side).  Direct the chute downstream as the snow blown upstream may collapse on the road.

Caution!

Remember that to increase adherence to the ground, the chains must be installed on the 4 wheels and under any clearing conditions.

4.Spreading operation 4.6 Removing obstructions from the chute If cleaning operations are performed with excessive forwarding speed, it is possible that the turbine fails to process the snow, thus, obstructing the chute. Obstruction is also due to insufficient filling caused by slow activation in the event the snow is very wet, or due to the interruption of the power transmission caused by the failure of the shear bolt on the reducer, or activation of the pressure control valve in the hydraulic system after an impact against a foreign body.

Note: Obstructions of the chute due to excessive forwarding speed are often preceded by jet interruptions.

These can be avoided by immediately reducing the forwarding speed.

To remove any obstruction of the discharge chute, proceed as follows:  Switch the TF front snow cutter-blower off;  Stop the wheel loader;  Lift the the TF front snow cutter-blower;  Go back with wheel loader in reverse gear in order to have sufficient space in the TF front snow cutter-blower and ensure safety while working;  Lower the front snow cutter-blower;  Turn the chute backwards to set it in oscillation position;  Switch the wheel loader engine off;  Remove safety plug R and remove the fixing pin;  Rotate the chute downwards and take the supplied rod;  Remove as much snow as possible from the turbine by making the snow softer with the rod and, if possible, rotating the augers against the forwarding;  Push the snow with the rod from the top using the chute to melt the compact snow;  Remove as much snow as possible from the chute;  Set the chute back to work position, fix it with the specific pin and connect the safety plug;;  Start the engine and switch the front snow cutter-blower on. Now, slowly increase the activation speed until the residual snow is removed.

Danger!

Never use your feet or hands when removing obstructions from the chute!

Danger!

Never work with reclined chute. The snow blow is uncontrolled and can be dangerous for the operators.

Danger!

Never climb on the front snow cutter-blower when removing obstructions from the chute - risk of falling.

Pay attention that people or objects are not hit by the snow when works are resumed.

A safety system with hydraulic clutch protects the rotating components. It is activated hydraulically by the vehicle PTO via piston hydraulic motor.

It is equipped with an interchangeable scraping edge made of special steel which is fastened to the guard of the snow sweeper. It is also equipped with a pair of sliding shoes, for correct positioning of the cutting unit on the road, and with splash guard.

The equipment series TF front snow cutter blower can be installed on this models of wheel loader: -CASE 221F -CASE 321F -NEW HOLLAND W70C -NEW HOLLAND W80C

6.Descriptions and functions 6.2 Features of the equipment

6.2.1 Roller-holder guard (Fig.1-6 A) Made of calendered sheet metal with stiffening pipes and reinforcement ribs, it is equipped with one central opening for snow discharge.

On the lower part there are the scraping edge and the support shoes.

6.2.2 Milling drums (Fig.1-6 B) These two drums are mounted on the same shaft. Their propellers are placed one on the right winding and the other on the left winding, conveyed to the centre.

The propellers allow the snow to be conveyed to the centre in order to be absorbed by the launch turbine.

6.2.3 Discharge chute (Fig.1-6 C) This can be rotated by 240° by the hydraulic motor on the carousel fully protected against water and ice and it allows the snow to be conveyed to the defined areas thanks to a long and precise blow.

6.2.4 Scraping edge (Fig.1-6 D) Made of special anti-wear steel, it is bolted and easily interchangeable.

6.2.5 Adjust support shoes (Fig.1-6 E) These are used to lighten the pressure on the blade, limiting its consumption and helping maintain the TF front snow cutter-blower in the correct work position.

7.Maintenance 7.1 Safety It is imperative to read the safety instructions in the operating manual before starting maintenance!

Carry out lubrication and maintenance according to the intervals indicated in the following lubrication and maintenance diagram, since the spreader’s operative ness, efficiency and lifetime depend thereon to a large extent!

The check and maintenance intervals indicated in the lubrication and maintenance diagram always refer to working hours or periods of time!

Refilling of oil or greasing may only be carried out after cleaning of the filler necks or holes and grease nipples respectively!

Do not mix different kinds of oil or grease (also not with petroleum or any other thin-bodied oil in order to reduce the viscosity)!

Always use the same or equivalent oil and grease (see table of lubrication materials in the annex)!

Always disconnect both cable of the battery and disconnect all the cables of the rear power box when working on the electrical system!

Children and animals must be kept at a sufficient distance from the equipment to prevent any danger resulting from its operation!

Before carrying out any work on the engine, turn it off and allow it to cool down. do not perform any operation while the engine is running!

In the event of loss of hydraulic oil or other pollutants, depose the basins and if possible, dispose of any waste collected according to the law or the laws in force in respect of the environment.

Do not wear loose clothing or protruding elements that can become caught. Where required, (working at heights, exposure to noise, contact with toxic substances, etc.), obtain the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

7.Maintenance 7.4 Scraping edge 7.4.1 Inspection Before any operation, check the state of wear of the scraping edge and make sure the fixing screws are fastened correctly.

Otherwise, proceed as follows: o

Lower the TF front snow cutter-blower until the scraping edge (Fig.1-7 B) is 5 mm from the ground;

o

Fully tighten all the fixing screws (Fig.1-7 A) of the scraping edge;

o

Fully tighten all the fixing screws (Fig.1-7 A) of the scraping edge;

7.4.2 Replacement Replace the scraping edge if the distance between the support and the blade lower profile is lower than 50 mm.

In order to replace the scraper blade, proceed as follows:

Caution!

Always mount a new blade of the same material as the worn one; never use blades made of different material.

Danger!

During the operations described, have a second operator help you as the scraping edges are large and heavy and may cause problems to a single operator.

Danger!

During disassembly operations, do not place your fingers under the scraping edge because, as it is free from constraints, it may slip and cause accidents due to its weight. o Lower the front snow cutter-blower until the scraping edge is 5 mm from the ground; o

Loosen all the fixing screws (Fig.1-7 A), paying attention to the scraping edge (Fig.1-7 B) as it is free from additional constraints;

o

Insert the screw in the first hole on the right of the new scraping edge and fasten it to the TF front snow cutter blower supports with the nut. Do not fully tighten the nut;

o

Repeat the operation using the first hole on the left of the scraping edge;

o

Mount the centre screws and check the position of the scraping edge. Now you can fully tighten all the bolts.

7.Maintenance 7.5 TF front snow cutter blower washing

Danger!

Operate only when all electrical and hydraulic connections are disconnected.

Note: At the end of the operation, before reconnecting the electrical and hydraulic connections, make sure that the mechanical safety devices are installed.

Every any operation, wash the TF front snow cutter-blower, following the instructions below : o

Spray a copious water jet not under pressure over the entire structure until all material parts that have formed a compact body with the TF front snow cutter-blower’s structure have been completely removed.

o

Insist with the water jet on the surfaces that are particularly subject to wear.

Danger!

Do not spill the water from the above washing, but collect it in a suitable container for disposal, as prescribed by the laws in force in the country of use of the TF front snow cutter blower.

7.Maintenance 7.6 Painting Check at the end of the season the TF front snow cutter blower painting; the paint has to be on all metal parts of the TF front snow cutter blower and has to be in good conditions. If there are points where the paint is damaged or missing, carry on as below described: o Smooth over the rusted points and all the points where the paint is missing; o Clean completely with degreaser in order to eliminate any possible impurity; o

Paint a deep layer of epoxy primer,

o When the primer is completely dry, paint a layer of polyurethane enamel; o When also the enamel is completely dry, check the points painted and if there are still some points not painted, put a second layer so that the metal is completely covered.

Danger!

Do not disperse paints, enamels or liquids used for the cleaning in the environment, but collect them in a special container in order to get rid of them, as set out by the laws in force in the Country where the TF front snow cutter blower is used.

7.7 Hydraulic system At the beginning of any working season check all the hydraulic piping with their couplings and splices.

In case there are also light troubles, replace the faulty parts as below described:

Danger!

Before undertaking this maintenance operation ensure that the hydraulic oil is not at working temperature as it is a potential risk of serious burns. o

Unscrew the splices and take away the pipes;

o

Mount the new original spare part and tighten completely all the splices and couplings;

Danger!

During the above operations never dispose of the hydraulic oil into the environment but be sure to collect it in a special container which will then be sent for disposal. In accordance with the terms of the laws in force in the country in which the TF snow cutter blower is to be used.

7.Maintenance 7.8 Central reduction unit oil 7.8.1 Checking and top-up Check every mouth (or at least every 150 working hours) the level of oil in the central reducer, via the specifica cap (Fig.2-7 A),keeping in mind that the optimal level is flush with the oil insertion hole.

Danger!

Check and top up if required, the reducer oil with the TF front snow cutter blower on a horizontal surface and with the hydraulic system of the wheel loader disengaged. o Remove the guard, loosening the specific screws (Fig.2-7 C); o To top up, loosen the cap (Fig.2-7 A) on the lower part of the reducer, pour the amount of oil required to reach the optimal level (flush with the oil insertion hole). Tighten the cap and remount the guard.

7.8.2 Replacing the oil reducer We recommend replacing the reducer oil completely after the first 150 working hours and then after every 500 working hours.

Follow the instructions below to replace: o Remove the guard, loosening the specific screws (Fig.2-7 C); o After having positioned the waste oil collection container, loosen the cap (Fig.2-7 B) and wait for all the oil contained in the central reducer to drain. o Tighten the cap back on again (Fig.2-7 B). o Loosen the cap (Fig.2-7 A), pour the amount of oil required to reach the optimal level (flush with the oil insertion hole). Tighten the cap and remount the guard.

Danger!

During the above operations, take care not to spill reducer oil in the environment, but store it in a suitable container for disposal, as prescribed by the laws in force in the country of use of the TF front snow cutter blower.
