Park the machine on flat, horizontal ground. Stop the engine and remove the starter switch key.

CK98M024 When the engine has been stopped for fifteen minutes, remove the dipstick, wipe it with a clean cloth and replace it in the guide tube as far as it will go. Then take it out again.

CK98M024 If the oil level is below the mark (A) (minimum), remove the oil filler cap, add oil up to the mark (B) (maximum) on the dipstick and then replace the oil filler cap. NOTE : The level should not be higher than the mark (B) (maximum) on the dipstick.

Engine oil change and oil filter replacement
STEP 4
NOTE : Change the oil while the engine is still warm. The oil will flow more easily.
STEP 1
Park the machine on flat, horizontal ground, stop the engine and remove the starter switch key.
STEP 2
Install a new seal on the drain plug and install and tighten the plug.
STEP 5
CK98M025 Clean the area around the oil filter and remove it, using a filter wrench.

Remove the oil filler cap.
STEP 3
CS98M580 Place a receptacle of a suitable capacity under the engine sump drain plug, remove the plug and allow the oil to flow out.
PH08325 Coat the seal of new filter with a fine film of oil.

STEP 7
Install the new filter, tightening until the seal comes into contact with the filter head, then tighten a further half-turn by hand.
IMPORTANT : Do not use the filter wrench to install the filter, as overtightening can damage the seal and the filter.
STEP 9
Run the engine for a few minutes and check that there are no leaks. Check the oil level again and add more oil if necessary. IMPORTANT : Always wait fifteen minutes to allow the oil to return to the sump before checking the oil level.
STEP 8
CK98M024 Fill the engine with new engine oil (6.8litres). Install the oil filler cap.
