PRE-OPERATION CHECKS
WARNING The pre-operation check is very important prior to operating the vehicle. Always check the proper operation of critical controls, safety features and mechanical components before starting. If not done as specified here, severe injury or death might occur. Bring all safety equipment required by local laws. Some of the following items may not have been previously covered in this guide, however they will be described in the MAINTENANCE or SPECIAL PROCEDURES section. Please refer to these sections to have more detailed information.
WARNING Engine should be off and the safety lanyard should always be removed from its switch prior to verifying any of the following. Only start craft once all items have been checked and operate properly. ITEM
OPERATION
Hull
Inspect.
Jet pump water intake
Inspect/clean.
Bilge
Drain. Ensure plugs are secured.
Battery
Inspect tightness of cables and retaining strap(s).
Fuel tank and oil reservoir
Refill.
Engine compartment
Verify for any fuel leak/odor.
Fire extinguisher
Inspect condition/mounting.
Steering and throttle systems
Check operation.
Reverse system
Check operation.
Safety lanyard, engine start/stop button
Check operation.
