1.0 Description

The grease systems Control Panel contain all the electrical control devices to operate grease systems 1 to 6 inclusive.

Grease systems 1,2,3 and 4 are timer controlled and these are mounted on the front of the panel.

Grease systems 5 and 6 are operated manually by the operator pressing a pushbutton and holding it in position for the duration of the lubrication cycle.

A central contactor panel contains the motor contactors and overloads for operating the electric motors used to drive the lubrication pump on systems 1,2,5 and 6. The pushbuttons for operating systems 5 and 6 are mounted directly to the frontdoorof this panel together with the cycling switch indicator lamp and the high pressure warning lamp for these systems.

Mounted on the lower framework of the panel are the operating solenoid valves, reversing valve panels and air conditioning sets for systems 3 and 4.

2.0 Timers

2.1 General

The Timers used on this panel are model SC301 for systems 1,3 and 4 and model SC300 on system 2.

The controller is housed in a steel enclosure with an aperture for a control panel. This panel contains keys for setting the controller and a LCD display and LEDs indicating the position of input control devices and output relays. The LCD display will indicate the exact state of the Lubrication System at that time. Periodically it will also indicate the programmed settings and number of lubrication cycles to date.

The controller SC300 contains all the basic requirements for a standard Lubrication System. SC301 has an additional printed circuit board extending the number of features.

It is possible to field upgrade the Lubrication controller from SC 300 to SC301 by fitting this additional board.

With the door closed and all cables inserted through suitable glands in the base of the box, the controller has an electrical and moisture rating of IP55.

2.1.1 Electrical Connection

The Lubrication Controllers SC 300 and SC301 are very versatile and can be used to control any type of Lubrication system. On the W2000 dragline, the timers are connected as shown on drawing 25202 E 757.

All external connections to the controller are made to the numbered terminals using the push-in plug connectors, which are supplied.

A general overlay of the terminal connections are given in the connection diagram.

2.1.2 Mains Supply

The controller must be fed by a steady AC single-phase earthed supply through an isolator. This supply must be protected by a fuse or MCB rated at 10 ampere at 110/120 volt.

The voltage must be selected on the internal voltage selector switch and the frequency selected When programming the Unit.

In order to comply -with EMC and safety legislation, it is important that the metal box of the enclosure together with its door are also adequately earthed. The mains earth wire must be connected to the stud on the backplate in the enclosure and links made to the door using 2.5 mm2 minimum section earth cable.
