Thischapterprovidesvitalinformationforyoursafety.Payspecial attentiontothischapter.Thesafetyinstructionsandrulesofprocedurewillhelpyoutoavoidhazardoussituationsandtoperformthe necessaryworkassafelyaspossible.
Theshieldsupportwasmanufacturedinaccordancewiththestate oftheartandgenerallyrecognizedsafetystandardsandregulations.However,aresidualriskstillexistswhichmayexposeyouto hazardoussituationswhenworkingwithorontheshields.These may,forexample,becausedbyunforeseeableexternalinfluences, machinedamageoroperatingerrors.
Inadditiontothisoperatingmanual,alsobesuretoobservethe respectivelegalprovisionsandregulationsforaccidentprevention inyourcountry.

Personsemployedintheoperation,repairandoverhaulofhydraulic and/orelectrohydraulicshieldsupportsmustbespeciallyqualified. Inadditiontohavinghadtraininginminingtechnology,the followingminimumrequirementsmustbemet.
Operationandmaintenance
Operationandmaintenanceoftheshieldsupportsmayonlybe performedbytrainedpersonnel.
Thetrainingmustbespecifictothetypeofshieldactuallybeing used.
Theelectrohydraulicandhydrauliccontrolsystemsmayonlybe operatedbypersonnelwhohavebeenadequatelytrainedto operatethepresentcontrol system. Thecontentoftheoperatingmanual,especiallythechapteron safety,mustconstituteapartofthistraining.
Theymustpossessandfurnishproofofadequatefamiliaritywith the J mechanical, J hydraulicand J controlsystems.
