This manual contains instructions regarding operation and routine care of the Gardner-Denver GDClHP Rotary Blasthole Drill, It is intended to help you understand rig functions, operations, and maintenance. Read and understand this manual before operating or servicing the rig. Keep it handy for reference later. The many variations in equipment for specific drilling programs are not covered in this instruction book. General hole starting procedure is given because this information is basic to most conditions regardless of how the drill is equipped, The "DOWN-HOLE" technical problems encountered in drilling are not covered in this manual. The solutions to these problems are usually learned by careful observation and on-the-job experience, To obtain maximum service life and trouble-free operation, it is important to follow the lubrication and maintenance recommendations.
The information, specifications, and illustrations in this manual are based on the information in effect at the time this manual was printed. Continuing improvement and advancement of product design may cause changes in your machine which may not be included in this manual. Each manual is reviewed and revised, as required, to update and include these changes in later editions. Because of the various options offered in the GDC lHP Rotary Blasthole drill, the operator may find variations in some of the controls with regard to location and/or additional controls for optional components.

SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
The GDCIHP Blasthole Drill is recommended for operating with bit load force of 16000 to 18000 LBS. (7,257 to 8,165 kg) in a stable position. It has factory-set protection devices to limitpulldown accordingly. Do notreadjust, bypass or override devices to increase the pulldown limits. Periodically check these limiting devices in accordance with good maintenance practice and published instructions.
