INTRODUÇÃO

INTRODUCTION

Este Manual visa atender as necessidades básicas para uma perfeita manutenção das Caixas de Câmbio ZF 16S-1650.

This manual aims to give the basic needs for a perfect maintenance of gearboxes of the ZF 16S-1650.

O profissional técnico encarregado pelo serviço deverá seguir rigorosamente os itens abaixo:

The technician responsible by the service must strictly follow the items below:

- Ler com atenção as instruções contidas neste Manual.

- Read the instructions contained in this manual thoroughly and carefully;

- Manter o local de trabalho limpo e organizado.

- Keep the workplace clean and tidy;

- Lavar a transmissão antes de desmontá-la.

- Wash the transmission before disassembly it;

- Juntas, chapas-trava, vedadores e peças com desgaste excessivo ou danificadas deverão ser substituídas.

- Gaskets; locking plates, sealing parts with damage or excessive wear should be replaced;

- Observar se peças com desgaste normal de uso, devem ou não ser substituídas.

- Check if parts with normal wear should be replaced or not;

- Observar os valores de ajuste e torques de aperto contidos neste Manual.

- Observe the adjustment torque specifications and pressure torques contained in this manual;

- Manter os furos e canais de lubrificação sempre livres de graxa ou qualquer outro material.

- Keep holes and lubrication channels free from grease or any other material;

- Ler com atenção as Informações de Serviço (I.S.), referentes a possíveis alterações.

- Carefully read the Service Information (S.I.), about possible alterations;

- Utilizar sempre PEÇAS ORIGINAIS ZF.

- Always use ZF ORIGINAL PARTS.

Ao solicitar peças de reposição para as transmissões, deve-se mencionar o tipo, o nº de série da caixa e a Lista Unitária.

When ordering replacement parts for the transmissions, mention the type, serial number of the box and the parts list.

Estes dados encontram-se gravados na Plaqueta de Identificação, localizada na parte lateral da carcaça.

This information is engraved on the type plate situated at the side of the housing.

Construction and Operation

A caixa de Mudança ZF 16S-1650 é composta de uma caixa básica com 4 velocidades à frente e uma ré, um grupo redutor (planetário) montado posteriormente e um grupo desmultiplicador montado na parte dianteira da caixa.

The gearbox ZF 16S-1650 consists of a main section with four forward ratios and reverse, a rear mounted epicyclic range-change section and an integral front-mounted splitter gear train.

Pela combinação da caixa principal e do grupo redutor resultam 8 marchas engatadas em duplo "H" ou "H" sobreposto. Além disso, estas marchas poderão ser desmultiplicadas através do grupo desmultiplicador possibilitando o uso de mais 8 marchas intermediárias, somando então 16 marchas totalmente sincronizadas.

The combination of the main gearbox and reduction gear group result 8 engaged speeds in double “H” or else superimposed “H”. In addition, the splitter gears double the eight ratios of the main and range change gearbox to make available a total of 16 gear ratios all synchronized.

General Description

Grupo Redutor - Versão duplo "H"

Range Change Section - Double "H" Version

O grupo redutor atua na faixa da 1ª a 4ª marchas e ré, permanecendo desacoplado na faixa de 5ª a 8ª.

The range change section acts in the range from 1st to 4th speeds and reverse, and remains uncoupled in the ranges from 5th to 8th.

O engate e desengate do grupo redutor ocorre automaticamente através de acionamento pneumático quando se passa com a alavanca de mudança da posição de 3ªe 4ª marchas (1º H) para a posição de 5ª e 6ª (2º H) e vice-versa, bastando para isso vencer um ponto de pressão.

The engaging and disengaging of the range change section occurs automatically through a pneumatic drive when is shifted from 3rd and 4th speeds (1st H) to 5th and 6th (2nd H) and vice versa.

Engate do GP

Engaging GP

Com a tecla da válvula da manopla na posição "LOW", o ar é liberado para a válvula solenóide e desta para a válvula 4/2 vias.

With the swtich in the position “LOW”, the air is released to the solenoid valve and consequently to the 4/2 way valve.

O fluxo de ar vindo da válvula de acionamento do GP, passa pela válvula 4/2 vias e esta desvia-o para o lado de engate do cilindro do GP (marchas 1ª/ 2ª/3ª/4ª e ré).

Desengate do GP Ao mudar a tecla da válvula da manopla para a posição "HIGH", o fluxo de ar é interrompido.

A válvula 4/2 vias recebe o fluxo de ar da válvula de acionamento do GP e desta vez desvia-o para o lado de desengate do cilindro do GP (marchas 5ª/ 6ª/7ª/8ª).

Válvula Solenóide

The air flow coming from the GP drive valve, passes through the 4/2 way valve and is displaced to the GP cylinder on the engaging side. ( 1st/2nd/3rd/4th and reverse).

Disengaging of the GP When changing the switch to the position “HIGH”, the air flow is interrupted.

The 4/2 ways valve receives the air flow from the GP drive valve and displaces it to GP cylinder on the disengaging side. (5th/6th/7th/8th).

Solenoid valve

Esta válvula normalmente fica aberta, mas quando o veículo atinge velocidades muito altas, que ultrapassa os limites para a utilização das 1ª a 4ª marchas, a válvula é energizada e com isso interrompe o fluxo de ar proveniente da válvula manopla, caso esta seja inadvertidamente mudada para a posição "LOW" e desta forma assegura que o ar proveniente da válvula de acionamento do GP siga para o lado do desengate do cilindro do GP.

Normally this valve remains open. except when the vehicle reaches very high speeds, thus exceeding the limits for using the 1st to 4th speeds. In this case the valve is energized and interrupts the air flow from the handle valve, if the same is inadvertendly changed to the “LOW” position thus ensuring that the air from the GP drive valve flows to the GP cylinder on the disengaging side.

Com isso, se houver uma mudança errada de 5ª para 4ª marcha em velocidade incompatível, a marcha que entrará será a 8ª, evitando assim danos na transmissão.

However if it exists wrong gear changes from 5th to 4th speeds in incompatble speed the 8th speed takes place automatically preventing the transmission from suffering any damages.
