Preface

In order to effectively plan crane applications, LIEBHERR now offers the LICCON Work Planner to its customers. The development of this comprehensive software package for planning, simulation and documentation of crane applications was made possible by structuring and streamlining all the necessary data for the operation of a work planner by computer. In order to assure realistic planning capabilities, the program had to contain the same data stored in the LICCON in every individual crane, permitting a variety of uses for the LICCON Work Planner.

I.1 Notes on Safety This user handbook has been compiled for the purposes of operating the LICCON application planner correctly and efficiently, as well as to enable the numerous planning options to be realised to the fullest.

I.2 Computer viruses LIEBHERR continuously examines deliverable files with current Virus-Scanning-Software. A virus recognition program can never provide complete virus protection, since new viruses or variations of selfmodifying viruses appear continuously. LIEBHERR cannot guarantee that the data disks are entirely virusfree. The end user is ultimately responsible for every software installation. Please note the following tips:

Check each data disk for viruses before reading data from it.

Scan your computer for viruses after each software installation (Files on installation data disks are most often compressed, and a virus scanner often cannot determine infected programs).

Use a virus free boot disk with activated write protection for virus scanning.

Protect your computer with a permanently activated virus shield.

Use only current virus scanning software!

Preface I.3 Warranty The customer recognizes that it is possible that the program and/or documentation may contain errors, at the present technical status it is not possible to establish a completely error free program. Warranty is limited to elimination of material problems. The warranty period is 6 months, starting on the day of delivery. It becomes void when the user makes or allows changes to the delivered item without approval by LIEBHERR.

I.4 Liability LIEBHERR is not liable for lost earnings, missing savings, immediate and / or subsequent damage of any kind as well as loss of data. This limitation of liability does not apply to any damage caused intentionally, by gross negligence or due to lack of assured properties.

I.5 Rights LIEBHERR claims the copyrights for the work planner program as well as for the documentation; LIEBHERR reserves all rights. It was not tested for patent rights and/or registered patent. Even though we attempted to assure that the data given in this manual is correct and complete, it may contain errors. We welcome your input regarding corrections and/or improvements.

Introduction

1 Introduction In order to effectively plan crane applications, Liebherr offers the LICCON work planner to customers. The development of this extensive software package for planning, simulation and documentation of crane applications was made possible by structuring the required data for operation of a job planner and by preparing them for use on a PC. In order to assure realistic planning capabilities, the program had to contain the same data stored in the LICCON in every individual crane. For all LIEBHERR cranes, crane specific data disks are available.



A minimum of 150 MB fixed disk storage for program "LICCON Work Planner"



Additional variable memory requirement for respective crane data



Minimum screen resolution 800x600



Installation

3 Quick overview for installation of the program For the installation, you need:  Program CD of job planner 

Crane data CD

3.1 Installation of program in standard operation The standard operation installation should be used if the complete job planner is to be available for a single computer.

Installation:  Register on the respective PC as administrator 

Make sure that no other applications are open



Insert the installation CD into the CD-Rom drive. If the installation does not start automatically, open the installation manually via the „Intro.exe“-file in the CD-Rom directory



As type of installation, select standard installation



Subsequently, follow the instructions of the installation program



After successful installation, restart the PC



Then install the crane data on the PC. If the installation does not start automatically, open the installation manually via the „Instkran.exe“-file in the CD-Rom directory



Now you can sign out from the PC as administrator and sign in again as a normal user



The job planner can now be started

3.2 Installation of program in client-server operation The installation of the job planner in Client-Server operation should be used if the program is to be utilized on several PCs. For that, a server as well as a network of the individual PCs must be available.

Installation on the Server PC: 

Register as the respective PC as administrator



Make sure that no other applications are open



Insert the installation CD into the CD-Rom drive. The installation is automatically started. If this is not the case, open the installation manually via the „Intro.exe“-file in the CD-Rom directory



As type of installation, select the user defined installation and mark the server entry



Subsequently, follow the instructions of the installation program



After successful installation, restart the PC



Then install the crane data on the PC. Insert the crane data CD into the CD-Rom drive. If the installation does not start automatically, open the installation manually via the „Instkran.exe“-file in the CD-Rom directory



For the following Client installation you need the IP-address or the name of your server. You can find this under „Start  Systemsteuerung  System  Computer name“.



Make sure that the job planner server is started

Installation on the Client PC: 

Register as the respective PC as administrator



Make sure that no other applications are open



Insert the installation CD into the CD-Rom drive. If the installation does not start automatically, open the installation manually via the „Intro.exe“-file in the CD-Rom directory



As type of installation, select the user defined installation and mark the client entry



Subsequently, follow the instructions of the installation program



After successful installation, restart the PC



Now you can sign in again as a normal user



Start the Start  Programs  Liebherr  LICCON Work Planner  settings and enter the name / IP address of the server in the file card Hostname .



Now you can start the job planner

4.1

Installation of the program

The data of the LICCON work planner program are being supplied in compression volume on CD-ROM. The installation program performs automatically all measures required for the application of the LICCON work planner without any problem and stores the program in the directory <Drive>:\Programs\LIKAPLAN. Should your system already contain an older version of the LICCON work planner, it is not necessary to delete it before the new installation.

Now perform the following steps in order to start the installation:  Make sure before the installation that no other applications are running. 

Insert the LICCON work planner CD into the CD-ROM drive.



The installation starts automatically as soon as the CD-ROM is inserted into the disk drive.

If it does not start, start the installation manually. On the Windows taskbar, click "Start" and then click "Run...". Click "Browse..." and select "CD-ROM". If it is not on the list, use the "Look in" pull down menu to locate it. Select "Intro.exe" and click "Open". Click "OK".



Then follow the instructions of the installation program.

After the installation has been completed without errors, the computer must be rebooted. This will be executed automatically by the installation program on request.

The installation can be installed three different ways. To do so, you will be requested by the program to select between the following possibilities:  Standard Installation  Server Installation (User defined)  Client Installation (User defined)

If a firewall is activated on the computer, on which a standard, server or client installation is carried out, then Port 2809 must be available!!!

Select the standard option to operate the LICCON Work Planner in "stand alone" mode.

If you would like to operate the LICCON Work Planner in Client/Server mode, select first the „User“ option.
